It depends on where on wants to build his house. One can still build a house with ehailing in some states outside Lagos, provided he is a driver owner in lagos.
I still wonder how some people discourage Uber/bolt drivers that they can't build an asset or property with this hustle. Though I'm not a driver, but I have plenty friends who are these e-hailing drivers and I know what they own from this hustle.
You're right @the bold. I have 3 guys who recently completed their own houses in ikorodu, they set the target for it on who will first complete their own house.
The thing I've understood would make some Uber/bolt drivers work 100 years with nothing to show for it is unseriousness.
I'm not typing this to hail Uber/bolt in anyway, especially bolt with that unfair commission, I'm putting it out here to encourage people that they can make something out of this hustle if they are serious and focus.
I have many frieds who are doing this driving that are doing so well, you need to see these guys. Pure Uber/bolt drivers. Many of them have upgraded and have cars on rentals.
Even if one is working at a oil company, if he's unserious and lacks focus, he would have nothing to show for it.
I know of a councillor who now walks around the street with nothing.

I use NorthWest coolant for my car its been 6months down the line no issue it's very affordable I think 1k/ltr or 800 can't remember again, been a while a bought it I posted pictures here b4.

For the oil I'd advised you use any genuine synthetic oil with original filter or change the filter twice @ 5000miles interval.

Make sure the oil viscosity is 10W40 its better for Nigeria weather.

If you notice any drop in oil after 1000 or 2000 miles don't panic just check your engine cover.

In addition, a first hand user told me ford don't like anything tracker. Don't install anything artificial on the car just leave it like that and maintain ur car properly

Goodluck bro.
made some research and watched few videos on YouTube of which the synthetic oil was the actual recommended oil for it - 5W-20 to be precise..

I also came across that 10W-30 can be used as an alternative to the 5W-20 and 10W-40 for naija hot weather as you stated...
I do appreciate your response...
cheers

Having read through comments,
Let me put a few of my thoughts.
The first thing a lecturer taught me that i will never forget is
The aim of a business is to generate customers.
Profit is secondary or will come if the first is a achieved.
Secondly, if these customers have complain while doing your business, listen and understand and solve.
on the short run, u might ignore and get away with it, but on the long run, you will loose eventually because nothing is static and change is constant.
You will fade eventually and those customers will still be there... meaning they are doing something else.

If u want your business to last, you must take your level of business from transaction level to relationship level.

I don't believe that someone working/driving 11 hours a day will call that job a side hustle.
The original promoters of any business will not view their biz as a side hustle.
There is always a market share.
Sometimes a biz might think bcoz of no competitive substitute, they can do what they like,
You are just bidding your time.
Innovation can totally remove the entire biz space for a particular sector.

So many examples abound.

Therefore I implore the drive sharing companies to listening bcoz complain is a waiting solution in disguise.

My two cents
what if 99% of them are chronic debtors what I was thought in school and learnt on a trade is that profit making is the primary objective of any business and not the other way round...
ask glithorax if it's by just number of customers or the sure ones that patronizes and helps in the growth and expansion of his business

What is affecting most us here especially those of us that are saying bolt/Uber are not sustainable is because we lack contentment.

People making these bad complaints won’t stop doing the work, hence still painting it as bad.

@bolded, I am sure you wanted to mention my name (wrongly spelt). smiley
My boss always says something: that he would prefer dealing with just 10 people that he's sure going to generate satisfying profit with less stress than accumulating 100 customers that would be giving him headache.
I learned from this that his major objective is the profit, not the number of customers.
A business can make profit from 2 transactions that will outweigh the profit he would make from 10 people with which the stress is definitely going to be more than the 2 transactions.
On the same edge, a true business man/woman needs crowd on his business, while profit is though the major objective (nothing else), but you have to keep the crowd coming and which you can only achieve this with the required customer RELATIONSHIP and friendly diplomacy - this is exactly what the other guyman (Lush100) was talking about by generating more customers.
And everything strictly depends on the type of business one is running. Still, profit is the major objective.
The business gurus may educate us more - I only expressed myself based on my knowledge.

There is nothing we can do about the commission of bolt, they are the one running the app and doing advert to bring customer customer to our doorsteps if we are not ok with it we are just going to turn off the app and look elsewhere, the blame should come from government not bolt/Uber.....

Hmmmm. It is well, my brother. But no matter the amount of excuses, or anything used to vindicate themselves (bolt), the commission is still too high and unfair. Uber too is doing adverts. It is well sha.

What people are failling ro realize is that this side hustle would not make you rich or be able to buy an house, it would be able to buy you beer, pay dstv subscription and child's school fee, for other pertinent issues like rent and getting married, this hustle is not for that.

If you want to buy land or build house, this is not where you can make that type of money.

Anyone saying this business is not sustainable, it doesn't make sense, this is something you do for spare change and you shouldn't even be thinking you want to re-coup the money you used in buying the car, if you get the money fine, if you don't keep it moving.

It's obvious u don't have sufficient knowledge that's why u r saying this. If u had personalized this your statement I wouldn't comment but because u generalised, I am forced to say ur claims or assertions are all false.
If u don't drive, how can u make these claims. Now, If u drive and u don't have tangible substance from ehailing then it's ur fault not ehailing.
If u don't have anybody around u that has done something tangible out of ehailing, atleast in this thread there are alot of testimonies and positive stories. Guys have built houses from ehailing, some have travelled abroad, many others have bought multiple cars, others have used funds from ehailing to start multiple businesses. So what again?
Is there anything anybody does actively forever? At some point u will have to seat back and lead/manage/direct or enjoy the fruits and dividends.
Whether u do it part time or u do it full time, u will get something out of it, what u use d proceeds to do is now your own business.

I will never be tired of telling my story, I was working full time and doing ehailing partime, I discovered I was making my full month salary in 2 weeks. (NB: I owned a car so my salary wasn't small). Then I tot to myself if I do this full time it means I will start making double my salary immediately. (Do u know how long I will continue on my job before I start making double my salary?) And today the rest they say is history. I can mention atleast 5people on this thread who in 2019 just started e-hailing and today can decide to fold their arms and sleep from morning till night but their income is better than a Level 10 in civil service.
I am not saying anybody should follow me, it's ur own decision to make based on ur own unique and specific circumstances and capabilities. I don't claim that all drivers' story is full of bliss and positives. But when we are making statements in public let's be careful what and how we say it.
If u have an experience, pls share it let others learn from it or tell u d pitfalls or what u did wrongly. Everything we put up here is for posterity and will be here forever, so let's be careful how we project history.

Looks fake, coming from someone into same business...are you scared or something?..you sell same product....don't hide behind your faulty eyes....it's either fake or original and if there is anyone who have some authority in spotting that . You are one of them ..

And to correct you. you stated that I sell the same product. When u said I sell the same product , you need to be precise on what you are saying exactly.

So point of correction. I DON'T SELL LIQUI MOLY. And nor have ever I sold it in past . If a customer makes a request for me to bring it . If the price is right I will honor that request......

And the bottom line here is , whether na liqui moly or Mobil 1 or any imported engine oil . To be frank with you I wouldn't able to tell fake from original......

Since I import my own engine oil myself, I know what I bring in is original ... I speak for me and myself only
