Tbh, I am still somewhat uncomfortable. My partial discomfort stems from Eguavoen himself. He is quite monotonous tactically and I hope working with a sound tactician like Amunike will see him mellow down and really work on the best tactics that can move us forward as a team not just ahead of the Ghana WCQs ties but ahead of the WC and by extension the next Afcon coming up just next year.

I did warn of his tactical monotoniety before the Round of 16 tie. I said we needed a slight shakeup in our tactical set up and approach so as not to be slapped with a counter plan by the opponent that we would have no true answer to.

Yes, both men share 1994 Eagles fame but I hope Eguavoen will be more open to tactical ideas Amunike will offer.

I say this because even I don't understand how he had a tactically sound Salisu Yusuf and didn't see the need to alter our tactics from the start vs Tunisia.
Salisu may have ran one or two ideas his way but Eguavoen must have stubbornly stuck to the same monotonous approach.

So this is my only discomfort. How open to Amunike and balanced Eguavoen will be. Simple.

Aside this, I truly hope it is a partnership that will work.

Let's assume is true... What's ur take with amunikes inclusion?

Do u c d two working well tgeda or we might exp clash of personal interest and ego?

From someone who said he holds a beer for every game he watches, I expected nothing less.

You are obviously drunk. Lol... I am done here. As usual, you never learn anything and always end up saying Non-Analytical rubbish(ies) from year to year. No improvements.

A Non-Analytical loquacious head and a drunk.

Bye Bye abeg. grin

Actually it was his 4th game started in a row. And yes, dude has been quite outstanding in these recent games.

Now turning into a mainstay at Charleroi. Great turn of events for the lad after going inactive at the beginning of the season with just one game (off the bench) in December 2021.

With him, Igoh Ogbu, Awaziem, Calvin and more, the future of our Central defence is looking good.

This AFCON may likely go down as one with the most penalty shootouts in the knockout phase.

Perhaps this indicates a bridging of the gap between the traditional powerhouses and erstwhile minnows on the continent.. Expect very tough games during WCQ in March.

Or it may indicate lack of creativity to score goals, most of these matches ended in a 0-0 draw

There has also been wastefulness with chances created in some games...more importantly the teams have found a way to even each other out with tactical adjustments.

Can't rule out a few of the WCQ stretching to penalties.

See this one, he does not know. He just can not help trying to run down footballing systems in Nigeria. That statement did not come from experience or exposure. It was strictly his knee jerk reaction to run Nigerian systems.

Yes he can help them build a formidable team for the future. But this WC, na we dey go!

komekn:
Chris Houghton will be confirmed as the new Ghana coach. For me the best man for job.

Apart from his football credentials and undoubted knowledge and experential competencies. I have never ever met a more honest and righteous man in football. Add to that his humility leaves me speechless.

Ages ago l wanted him to be Nigerian coach, and l said it maybe problematic because he will never compromise his integrity for the NFF.

What does that mean, beating Ghana was never going to be easy. But with Chris at the helm of affairs it just got even much harder.

Chris has the integrity and influence to bring to Ghana, Hudson -Odio, Lamptey and Salisu and a few other from the English premier League.

Beat them
We have to take this match with all the seriousness it deserves!! For those who keep saying if we don’t qualify for the wc is ok, should pack themselves to a a corner and allow some of us who really want the bs to beat Nigeria to the ticket!! They already blocked us once from going to the wc and we shouldn’t allow it to happen again otherwise is going to be a record and a history in the making!! We should do anything under our power to beat them in cape coast and make the return leg a DOG FOGHT! We should prepare and put everything in place to beat them!! Eguavon who has been appointed as their coach only has one tactics, WING PLAY and we should cut and brutally block their wingers from playing and seize control of the midfield and is going to be done and dusted!! There’s no plan B for them!! They can’t play thru the midfield and we should seize control of the midfield and block their wingers!! We should beat them

In all honest I blame the NFF for Nigeria ouster at this AFCON

Just imagine the extent Senegal goes to invite Sarr but here we have NFF led by greedy PINNICK where all he cares for is, his personal interest not to move our football forward. Many Africa countries FA won't tolerate the non availability of Oshimen and Dennis. They will go any extent wrestle with the clubs to have this players.
Forget the case of the Covid 19 for Oshimen and lame excuse for Dennis

This men have hold our football hostage for too long. We need an NFF president that will be passionate about our football development

Story story.

The fact is Jibola Nwakali was brilliant yesterday. What Indicator beats creating 3 scoring chances in one half?

You can abadon your agenda.

Iheanacho? You failed.

Osimhen? You failed woefully.

Jibola Nwakali? You just failed again.

Have you guys seen the Silas Nwankwo gist?

Apparently, his current club came across a picture of him from 2015 when he played for the ESUT football team. Clearly, this is not an 18-year old, like anyone else would have pointed out

Since I came across that news, the only person that keeps coming to mind is that guy that came here to ask for help on joining the U-17 team despite being overaged.

While I understand that things are very difficult for the average Nigerian, especially as regards placement in sports, I will always insist on time.

There are truly some dreams that time will steal, and people have to be ready to accept that.

Young Naija Midfield Pearl, Samson Tijani set to be in action later today with Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Cup Quarter finals vs LASK either off the bench (more likely) or from the start.

Note: It would be his first official game for Red bull Salzburg if he features in any capacity.
