TheGoodJoe:THE SE have a really strange system of playing. Baffles me why Ekong needs to do the job of a midfielder and try giving through balls to Simon throughout the game against Tunisia. Why not give the midfielders more responsibilities instead of by passing them. Why is Eguavoen stuck on 1994 and you play only 2 CMs..Our continued tactical mistake of playing only 2 midfielders will continue to be our failure. Failed with Rohr and failed with Eguaveon.. As for the chances created and matches he won, this ain't no league competition.. |

Joezinho:Forget about Aribo's ball carrying abilities. We know what Aribo can do and what he can't. We needed an extra man in that midfield. And , if he start Aribo and Ndidi again Ghana will bury us. It's the same wahala with Rohr. We don't have a midfield controller. People can decide to make it about Nwakali but the problem is still there. We don't have a playmaker, shikena. No need lying to ourselves; we no the limitations of Aribo and Ndidi. I noticed they few times Nwakali was on Ndidi played like a liberated man....hehe |

I thought Fathi was subbed. He should be removed quickly before he gets a red |

It's either you play an extra man to support Ndidi and Aribo's weaknesses or you play a proper midfield controller who can carry the ball and dictate....na Eguavon sabi...my 2 cents |

Stormtrooper11:Nope.. Just like you're seeing with Senegal Nempalys Mendy and Gueye starting S.E needs Ndidi and Onyeka to always start with Bonke and Onyedika as subs. Then Aribo, Iwobi or Nwakali playing CAM. |

Stormtrooper11:You didn't annihilate them. They were not fine tuned when we played them. You are watching an improved team, now. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:42pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
Joezinho: Understand that it is beyond your comprehension or even mine. I am still trying to understand the system. The fact is simple, Eguavoen did not play the way we want or are used to. He has his offensive system and it works. You can mark Simon, and the chances will still come. You can hold Chukwueze and somehow Aina gets into offensive positions. His two midfielders go forward and yet it is hard to get direct shots at the team. Leave, Eguavoen is a brilliant tactician. When you try to criticize, you forget the plain fact. We created 13 chances while the Tunisians created 7. They were not tactically superior. We dominated. So criticizing that he did not play the way you like is a thing of preference, not failed tactics. |

Subzero47: He absolutely did and there was an improvement. In the first game, I can bet I was the most vocal critique of that. |

Omanambala:Your concerns on our midfield are genuine. Before the Tunisia match, I voiced out my fears against the 2 man midfield system we operated. Even though we won our 2 first games, I wasn't totally convinced. I felt a highly tactical team will press on those loop holes and annihilate us. I was expecting a major tactical change on our game approach. A 3 man midfield with Onyeka, Ndidi and Aribo. I hope we'll learn. |

Omanambala:Teams grew with the progress of the tournament. If we won against Tunisia, we would had improved massively. We could had be much more stronger than what we saw in the group stage. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:49pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
Stormtrooper11: We created 13 chances, Tunisia created 7. Are you assuring us we would have created more chances with a 3 man midfield? Eguavoen has his system and it creates loads of chances. We just need to work on converting our chances and we would be a frightening side to any team that faces us. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Omanambala(m): 9:50pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
Stormtrooper11:We can try a three man midfield of Onyeka, Ndidi and Aribo....but none is a playmaker. Honestly, we don't have to invite Nwakali since he is useless and caused us the lost.....we can invite Amoo, still. Amoo is a proper midfielder. |

Lol when it's other teams they make excuses for them but if it's us they will be absolute in their judgement Stormtrooper11: |

TheGoodJoe:No matter how you try to sugar coat it, Eguavoen's tactics cost us that game.. He had no Plan B.. Everyone knew eyes would be on Simon, and Eguaveon didn't make any alternative plan for this. Not even try switch Simon and Chuks positions to see if they can stretch the Tunisia defense by playing on the line and pulling out instead of their predictable cutting in from the wings... And also, how did Eguavoen decide to not include Ejuke in the squad for a knockout game? Did he underestimate Tunisia to the extent that he didn’t think he would need a player like Ejuke who would be very useful in creating spaces and unlocking a stubborn defense? That was an unacceptable blunder. |

TheGoodJoe: TheGoodJoe:He absolutely didn't.. Aina was getting into offensive positions that Chukwueze should have been getting into and at the same time Aina also had to get back into defensive positions since Chuks wasn't helping defensively... Chuks is too lazy for the S.E.. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:54pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
Joezinho: How did Eguavoen's tactics cost us the game when we created almost double the chances the opposition created? Even with a man down, we still terrorized them. What will the better tactics do? Fewer chances? What are you switching for when the chances are coming? Do you think the tactical switch is a light bulb switch? You switch tactics when you are not creating chances. Not when you are creating far more chances than the opposition. |

TheGoodJoe:What does a man profits if he created a million chances and loses the match?? In the game against Tunisia, our wings were clipped. They made us look clueless, empty and uninspiring. A 3 man midfield would had been the breakthrough. We relied too much on wing play. It was too one - dimensional "The football game is won in the midfield" |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:57pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
codemaniacs: As I said preference. Working with the other players must not be tracking back. It is getting the ball to them when they are in space. Also when Aina goes forward, being in a supporting position to work with him to create channels to attack. Also giving vital passes to players when they are in offensive areas. Not just tracking back. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:58pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
Stormtrooper11: That is not a tactical problem. The tactics is to create good chances. It is up to the players, not the coach to score the chances. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:59pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
Stormtrooper11: The midfield has not won if the opposition is creating more chances. What win games is simple. Taking your chances. Not winning midfield battles. If you win midfield battles and you do not create and take chances, it is useless. |

Joezinho:Eguavoen is not on the pitch.. it's Okoye that cost us the game and not Eguavoen's tactics. S.E also didn't have finishers in their strikers. |
