chymeze: With due respect, I dont think anybody in APC is looking to SS or SE for votes irrespective of who their candidate is. SS and SE have never voted for APC and they have always won. the North and the SW voters will determine who becomes president not the SE or SS. If APC selects a candidate from the SW and the party rallies behind that candidate, then they will win irrespective of how anyone in the SE or SS votes. You cannot take away what you never gave. if you never voted for me and I still won and the people that voted for me are still behind me, then I will campaign in your area to fulfill all righteousness but deep down I know that what you do with your vote does not matter to me. if there are 100 votes and 40 people have never voted for me and 60 people voted for me. My attention is to focus on the 60 people who backed me in the past because if I retain them, I will win no matter what the other 40 people do. 1 Like |

Yea he should do so and I would have preferred him to Amaechi.. If buhari wants a seamless transfer and a lackey then Osinbajo is good there but time is running out for him. if buhari wants him then the power transfer dance should have started earlier. Thus tinubu has destroyed that chance with his unwanted dancing. Thus then Amaechi is probably more strategic successor . But two of them don't control politics in their states......but actually that deficiency is what Buhari will like to have to control them |

AchalugoNwa: People like you have zero empathy for humanity. You derive hypnotic and ecstatic chills seeing people suffer either by your domination as you share in the joy of laughter with knitted likes. How can bad see and accept the good in others except to throw stones and malign. Have you not taken what isn't yours and sat on it for a longer period even with the impetus of never giving an inch back? The Tinubu's urchin and cohorts built a Lagos that's super congested because anyone can dream it while the other regions are led by rats wearing agbadas and fish-like brains which are your benefactors. perambulator:All these people with one sided thinking process lolzzz lmfao. APC spokesperson lolz. Let me follow your one sided thinking process... let's assume your APC picks your Yoruba presidential candidate. Now if PDP picks a popular northerner as it's candidate and a south South or South East as it's vice, you really think the northerners would stupidly leave that popular northern PDP candidate and vote for a Yoruba arselicking candidate? Even if you give them VP slot they'd still go for the highest! That's the North gone. And of course, the South south and southeast would vote for the PDP... that's South south and southeast gone from APC. So the APC would be left with only the South West to rally it's votes from. Can the south West alone overturn votes from the North, South south and southeast combined? You're obviously a novice in this biz lolz. You talk as if everyone else is asleep and not doing their homework. The popularity that APC got from Buhari would no longer be there, so it's more like every man for himself now instead of hiding behind Buhari. Lastly, let me teach and enlighten you further. In politics you don't work on your strengths but rather on your weak points. A wise thinking person would have known that to become president, you need to rally support from every zone in Nigeria because presidency is not a regional thing (admittedly, a fact which my Igbo brothers don't still understand till now). I still say this, if APC wants to stand a chance in this election they should shun Tinubu and present a better candidate. Tinubu would be their biggest undoing! I'm not Yoruba but I know I'd vote for Osibanjo than some present crop of PDP candidates without blinking an eyelid. This is just to tell you how nationalistic an Osibanjo candidacy would be. The same goes with Amaechi. He has great appeal in the south and the north. But for Tinubu? I've told you a typical south south and southeast would rather vote for a stone than vote for Tinubu. The only way tinubu can win this election is if there's mass rigging in his favour, and this will certainly create chaos. Facts. |

Re: Osinbajo To Announce Presidential Bid After APC Convention by Nobody: 2:26pm On Feb 07, 2022 |
chymeze: Please read my post again. This is not a tribal statement or an APC statement, this is me looking back and trying to be objective and stating things as they are without emotion. I said if APC fields a SW candidate and if the APC leaders are united behind that candidate, then the candidate will win no matter how the voters in SE/SS vote. The bolded part is the key and I stated such in my initial post...please read again. All the story you wrote above is irrelevant, you know why? SS/SE will never vote for APC come hell or highwater and no effort will make them change, so why tailor their candidate to suit those zones. it is the mistake PDP made in the last election, they chose a VP who did not bring in additional votes. Even if a few do, it will never be enough to make up loss of support from the North. So the North is the kingmaker not SS, not SW. If PDP chooses a Northern candidate SE/SS will still vote for PDP... who are we fooling here? Who is more popular than Atiku, did PDp not field Atiku the last time, did they win with almost 100% votes from SS and SE? Which is why I said, if you read properly the key is the bolded part. The corollary to that is that If the APC hierarchy are not united behind a SW candidate then there is nothing any votes from the SE/SS can do to help APC. therefore in either case the SE/SS vote is of no consequence to the APC. it is the APC hierachy that will determine the fate of a SW candidate not SE not SS!!! If they say no your votes cant help us, if they say yes your votes are not needed!! No abuse or tribal jibes intended, just giving my analysis of the situation. Elections are a numbers game, where are the numbers for APC? ...north. If the north withdraws its numbers from APC then it is game over for the SW, there can NEVER be enough APC converts in the PDP heartland of SE/SS that can make up the shortfall. Dont forget if APC lose 1 vote from the North they have to find 2 from the SE/SS to make up the deficit...who are you kidding? So in a scenario where APc loses Northern votes because of a SW candidate nobody can help APC...its game over, therefore I state again SE/SS votes are inconsequential to APC. They wont determine the success or failure of APC. You clearly have not thought through your hypothetical scenario. If APC loses 2 million votes from the North, come on be realistic where will APC find those votes in SE/SS...who are you kidding? how many votes are there in both regions combined that APC can claw it back from SE/SS, traditional PDP heartlands? Please have a look at the numbers at the last election below: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Nigerian_general_election 1 Like |

perambulator:Whether APC or South West rallys behind it's candidate is irrelevant! My point here is, even if the entire Yoruba race rallys for a Yoruba APC candidate, can the South West alone win the presidency? Because if the PDP fields a strong northern candidate, then don't expect the northerners to leave their brothers and vote for a Yoruba. That's what brings me to your atiku allusion. Now atiku didn't only face his fellow northerner in the election (Buhari) but he faced a popular northerner at that who's seen as a demigod over there, and yet atiku still put up a great fight. Now imagine if it's Tinubu that you field against atiku, do you even think Tinubu would stand a chance? Lolzzz. I'm just laughing in Greek because you obviously don't understand Nigerian politics. And I'm sure it might not even be an atiku your South westerner would face, but a more popular candidate. Then you'd know politics is not a regional thing but a nationalistic thing. I'm even shocked that Yorubas can project someone like Tinubu this way when they have other far better candidates who have better nationalistic appeal and can do the job if fielded. Personally I think it's lack of wisdom. How can you guys leave out someone like Osibanjo who can deliver any day and anytime and you run after someone without nationalistic appeal and who can't take you guys anyway with his history of corruption lolz. And btw SS/SE can vote for APC if they field the right candidate. They can vote for an Osibanjo if PDP messes up in it's choice of candidacy. Of course they'd vote for an Amaechi overwhelming if he's fielded, irrespective of Wike's influence. They voted APC in bayelsa before the courts overturned it. They vote for people they know can deliver not those who'd put them in perpetual slavery like what's going on in Lagos. But like I told you they'd rather vote for a stone than Tinubu. Edo is a typical example. People voted PDP not because of obaseki but because of extreme dislike for Tinubu. |

chymeze: You have an understanding of the game senior. The card for the APC in this case would be a Jonathan. I personally did love Jonathan. He is a fine President in a sane country but he doesn't have that rough edge nor mental astuteness required to lead a volatile and polarised nation as ours. It's unfortunate that political permutations may trump effective service delivery. |
Re: Osinbajo To Announce Presidential Bid After APC Convention by Nobody: 2:52pm On Feb 07, 2022 |
chymeze: My friend i wont respond to you if you continue to ask stupid questions. Did I say SW can win on their own? So why are you re framing the discussion or asking daft questions? I said APC does not need SE/SS votes, I said the North will determine the fate of the SW not SE or SS. I said if the the APC hierachy does not back the SW (i.e APC north faction withdraws support) then there is nothing ANYBODY or ANY REGION can do to save SW. therefore there is nothing to gain from APC-SW targeting it's candidate to a region(s) that will not determine it's fate. If you want to dispute my assertions above with facts fine but if you want to move the goal posts or create new topics find someone else. 1 Like |
