Odunayow: Realistic how ? Our current crop of players now None of you here can bet your life we’ll make it pass r16 of the World Cup that’s if we even qualify self. All day everyday is recommendations of amateur players, first was nwakali, he got nothing to show, then we move to the next narrative. If I were to have a say, ekong and balogun, must be dropped. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Subzero47: That's your perception. I first went to look at Etebo when he played for Warri Wolves and he stood out, it's not today I've known about Etebo. Fast Forward he goes to Stoke city after the world cup, l had GREAT EXPECTATIONS for him. Sadly he did not live up to those expectations. I expected him to have a style of football similar to Ngole Kante. He had some good flashes but was overall not able to to dominate in the club and league. That doesn't mean he is not good enough for the SE. He has been playing for Watford has had a few games but injury has not helped him, effectively been out for 5 months plus. He is not SPENT please, you are now TALKING HIM DOWN and your comments by are not objective but derogatory. I gave an honest objective assessment of Etebo club and league performance that's not Talking down. 1 Like |

Ashleigh Plumptree got her switch of allegiance from England to Nigeria processed within one month by the same NFF.. 8 Likes |

komekn: Talk to Ovie again tomorrow... Years ago is past tense... We are in the present... Whether men of women, the same process is involved when switching allegiance... The NFF themselves acknowledged that she and her "people" submitted the required documents on time which helped to fasten the switch.... Can you swear on your honour that Ovie and Ademola told you that they applied for switch of allegiance since 3 years ago?? It isn't by making commitment on social media.. They have to go through the formal route of applying... Once again, can you swear on your honour that they confirmed it to you? 9 Likes 1 Share |

komekn: So who will he bench in our midfield? You don't need a Kante when you have an Ndidi. Aribo offers much more attacking-wise, and Onyeka is also good enough to play B2B easy. |

Continuing on my rant until this issue is taken seriously. I sincerely believe we should not continue to trivialize the issue of our non-existent goalkeeper in the super eagles. Seriously, why couldn't the NFF compensate the best seasonal goalkeeper in the NPFL with an invitation to the Super Eagles Camp. This would at least ensure the best goal keeper is invited to the super eagles while creating competition in the national team camp. If I remember correctly Enyeama ( arguably the best goal keeper Nigeria has ever produced) and any other goalkeeper of repute that has ever graced our senior national team goal line all came directly from the local league ( Aloy Agu, Peter Rufai, Ike Shorunmu, Joseph Dosu etc all come to mind). As much as i can't believe i am saying this, my people the answer to this goalkeeper problem may be in the local leagues. However, one thing this is definitely known, and with all certainty, is that the answer is not Maduka Okoye. 3 Likes |

Subzero47: That's because he has a higher conversion rate amongst our forward players...he looks the most likely to bury half chances. No matter how critical you are of Nacho, it's difficult naming a present SE forward with his cold-blooded finishing. But if we play a 4-3-3 with a lone striker then I don't fancy him playing upfront ..Osimhen is more suited to that. A 4-4-2 is a no no because we presently do not have the right personnel to execute it....plus it's already predictable. |

komekn:The reason some people don't fancy Etebo is that they believe he doesn't combine well with Ndidi, but now I'm beginning to think it could have been due to Rohr's influence. He has what it takes to ramp up the energy in the midfield if he will release the ball at the right time. Under Eguavoen, he might just be a beast. I'm eager to see what he brings. Hopefully he gets back to full fitness and form by March. 1 Like |

komekn: Etebo is not the the same player he was 4 years ago. The successive injuries seem to be taking a toll on him. He's not as dynamic as he used to be... Also, for those that cares to listen -- I believe Ejaria will be key for Nigeria. I can say confidently that he is a better dribbler than any of our players. He will be a perfect option to Iwobi at AM. I'm not sure if he could play CM, but it may be possible. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Eguavoen and Amuneke Appointments are good Call, I support it 100%. Wasting Millions of Dollars for Bronze Medals at AFCON and second round at WC ain't something to cheer at all. I am glad we don't hire another incompetent, overrated, Manager again, in the Name of hiring a foreign Manager. Meanwhile, we need to be realistic henceforth and fairly critiquing the Squad. First and foremost, Alloy Agu must go. He's a big failure as GKs Trainer. I'll rather have Ezenwa in Goal than any of Uzoho or Maduka. Presently we don't have Goalkeepers. I won't mind Local based GKs like Olohunleke Ojo or we invite that Israel based GK ASAP. Other departments are OK, except Midfield, precisely AM Position. We need an AM like Okocha or Mikel ASAP. Iwobi ain't a Heir. He has been tested and obviously not good enough for the Role. I would have canvassed for Olise and Eze, but both are playing as Wingers at Crystal Palace. To me Amoo is not good enough for AM. Our Scouts should find us a proper, natural No. 10 before World Cup begins. 4 Likes 2 Shares |
