Rugaria: I have given him credit and continues to give him credit... I mean for a politician to win 2nd term on excuses is a phenomenon feat. Who dishes out wheelbarrow and cutlass as empowerment ; who never pays salaries and pensions. Someone who collected the FG Recession intervention and COVID-19 assistance for states and seems like the mystery of snakes swallowing money starts in Benue 3 Likes |

" invite Vice President Yemi Osibanjo to commission if he wants to truly welcome him to Benue State." No, Vice president or the President of Nigeria should not be invited to commission projects executed by the state government. The governor of Benue state should take credit for all the finished projects in his state by commissioning the projects. The 1999 constitution of Nigeria is very clear on the role of federal, state and local governments. Please governor Ortom of Benue state, do not invite President Buhari or Vice president Osinbayo to come and commission any projects you have executed. You should take credit for what you have done by commissioning those projects in person. The President or Vice President should commission federal projects. That is what the 1999 constitution of Nigeria says. Nigeria is no longer under military role--which means military head of state is invited to commission projects. Under civilian role, state governor commission projects executed by the state, and the president commission federal projects. No state governor should invite the president of Nigeria to come to their state to commission projects. It is unconstitutional. Please read about separation of powers in 1999 constitution of Nigeria to understand role of executive branch of government. |

JohnSin97:Insecurity where? is Borno more secured than Benue or you think Kaduna with all the bandits attacks is more secured than Benue? But are these other governors not developing their states amidst the insecurity? What stops Ortom from doing same? Or Ebonyi where Dave is doing wonders in terms of development is richer than Benue? 3 Likes 1 Share |

WhatCanIsay:Lest I forget, only a blind scum of mother earth would claim Omenkalives turned against Ortom only after he changed from APC to pdp. On the contrary, it was people like you who hated him when he was in APC and suddenly upheld him to same status as Chukwu Okike Abiama soon as he joined pdp. From day one, after he won APC nomination, I've stood against him. I stood against him when he imagined purchasing cars worth hundreds of millions for commissioners, soon after he was sworn in, while the country was facing recesion, was a right course of action. I stood against him when he took off his admin by owing salaries and pensions. I stood against him when he raised tuition of BSU. I stood against him when he set about developing Oracle Enterprise using state resources, instead of paying salaries and building infrastructure. All these while he was in APC. He was a failure in APC and a failure in pdp. But nitwits who call themselves pdp supporters hated him to hell and back when he was in APC (not because he was a failure, but because he wasnt in pdp), but love him and excuse his excesses today. You're a hazard to yourself. Good night. 5 Likes 1 Share |

JohnSin97:LOOK how dumb you sound. No development can happen with insecurity. Yet Borno state has one of the best high school infrastructures in the country. Not even on 100 metres of road has been constructed by Ortom in 6 years. No salaries paid, no pensions paid. The only project Ortom has started and completed in Makurdi is his personal house in Judges quarters. Bro no out mouth for wetin you no understand. Men fit chop your eye if you stand for high level or wurukum talk this kain thing ooh. Insecurity.... What has he actually done about the insecurity we are talking about? Aside make noise. He is not the one funding the police or the army in the state yet he cant do anything because of the insecurity that he is doing nothing about. Even the bailout funds were not used to bail the state out. The last funds released to all the states by the presidency to help states pay salaries, did you hear anywhere that Benue civil servants were paid? Is Zulum not paying salaries in Borno state the head quarters of terrorism? Is kastina owing civil servants up to 2 years salary despite bandits roaming the state. Talk less about what you dont know and listen more boy 5 Likes 3 Shares |

LG and LCDA chairman in Lagos are commissioning massive projects every day because it's their belief that this is what their people voted for and elected them to do, but this ortom man and his kind actually think and believe that his people did not put him in office to progress and develop his state or to build and commission any project, but to be a drama queen, a common market woman attention seeker just to cover and divert from his own incompetence and lack of achievements. This is just too sad.. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

[b]Sugarboyy wrote "Is there any recognized law in this your democratic constitution that says it's wrong for President or Vice to be invited by state governors to come to their states to commission projects executed by them? or you are speaking base on morals? To be honest, the 1999 constitution of Nigeria does not say it is wrong to invite president or vice president to commission. The constitution simply states functions of each of the three branches of government (Federal, state and local governments). What we should do in Nigeria is to follow and apply what the constitution says, and not what we want to do. And we need to look past military era and focus on the constitution if we are going to save this fragile democracy in Nigeria. Furthermore, when we do not follow the constitution, you are going to have Boko Haram, kidnapping in school, bandits, killing of innocent. The 1999 constitution is the only tool--which can be used to save this enterprise called Nigeria. |

jaxxy:The Tub youths know the real truth behind most of those killings. Some thing the governor has refused to tell the rest of the world. It's only outsiders that don't know that most of the killings are actually revenge. Have you heard any traditional rulers come out to speak about it? Bro these guys go into the bushes, rape fulani girls and wives beat up the man, kill his cows and share the meat. The fulani man doesn't have a smart phone to take pictures for social media, few months or weeks after another set of youths or even same set come back again. You expect that man not to take revenge? Have ever heard that they stole anything during these attacks? Why do you think they rape women? Bro leave what you dont understand abeg This has continued for years. The fulani issue didn't start now I still remember during the time of Abacha we had this issues, Obasanjo also we did. It's just cos of social media making news go round that we all feel its too much. It's been happening for years? Why did you think the military killed that guy that was going to surrender. He is the key leader of cattle rustlers in Benue. That won't be the first time he was collecting money from Ortom for amnesty. Bro leave deep matters. You cant go about rapping a man's wife and daughters, killing his cattle and sharing the meat with impunity and not expect revenge at some point. He will gather his brothers and strike. Out of 23 local government in Benune why is this happening in only 3 local governments? We know the truth bro. Na una wer no dey Benue dey celebrate Ortom. 3 Likes |

EXOUSIAng: Listen up, there are people from bornu state who would also tell you that Zulum isn't working and I wasn't even making an excuse for the governor, I only made a case for restructuring and insecurity in the country largely due to the incompetence of the president. And yes, no tangible development can happen were there's insecurity, you can ask those in Syria if you have a problem comprehending that. Lastly, even if you where raised in the forest, expirence and probably age should have thought you manners when responding to people on a public forum concerning a national issue....you don't address people you don't know as "boy" even if you do such with your father, learn to address people with respect and you'd get respect in return. Manners maketh man. |

JohnSin97:You are so wise but still dumb enough to comment on an issue you know absolutely nothing about. Buhari spend about 2 days in Kaduna commissioning projects here and there, is KD safer than Benue? Is Borno safer than Benue? Is Zanfara safer than Benue? Benue issue has nothing to do with insecurity. Peace or not Ortom ain't shit.... 3 Likes |

History555:in your bid to blindly condemn the good news, you didn't even read properly before rushing to keypad. The headline was never about the president of the Tiv youth association but the position of the association itself, which was clearly communicated by the vice president. "This will elicit accolades from the Vice President and the people of Benue who have continued to yearn for development”, Hon. Mike Msuaan stated" .That Ortom is a BIG failure is no news to some of us. How can criticizing the FG be your sole achievement? He never did anything tangible when he was in the rulling party, now he is worse off in PDP. We see projects from states with worse insecurity problem like Kaduna and even Borno which is the capital of insecurity in Nigeria. Ortom has simply failed and some of us knew it long ago. Thank goodness it is becoming obvious 2 Likes |
