Good evening Nairalanders.
Last year, I created the above thread, how my younger brother set 70k on fire, some people did not believe me. But Thank God that 3 nairalanders saw the video evidence when they PM me and I hope they come across this thread so they could testify. I also want to thank everyone for the great and helpful advice.

Although, ever since then, he has been maintaining his lane, he barely talks to me, he greets my dad like he's being forced to greet. And am not happy with his lifestyle, he's my only brother and I need advice pls.

My brother is into yahoo yahoo, he comes home late at night (12 or 1am), sometimes he won't return home till the next day, he keeps wayward friends, he drinks alcohol, he smokes and do drugs {I haven't caught him red-handed smoking, but I'm not a child, his eyes are always red and dim}

My brother is a 2'1 graduate in Economics dept. From uniben. He's refused to get a job... Okay let assume there is no job in Nigeria, my dad's friend offered him a job in Lagos he refuse to go, learn a skill or trade he refused... Okay further your education {probably masters or professional courses} he refused.

We're neither rich nor poor, just an average family. My dad make sure we don't lack basic amenities. There is a roof over our head, he sent us to school, there's always food at home, he advice us despite he's not educated but as a traditional man he's full of wisdom.

Am concerned about my brother because of the high rate of ritual killings and yahoo plus whatever.... Am scared and worried, I don't want my brother to be involved in such crime.

Right now as am typing, my brother is not at home, I don't even know my brother's whereabouts. If one ask me where is your brother? I can't vague of his whereabouts but he returns home very late, sometimes till the next day.

Sometimes our parents are not to be blame for the evil and atrocities done by their children in our society, Honestly some children are from the pit of hell.

My dad has done his best but no changes, he has washed his hands away from his life but deep down I know he's not happy. Nairalanders please, how do I advice my brother.

You, your sister and your dad have done your best. Allow the deaf fly follow the corpse to the grave. Your care is purging him that he misbehaves! If it's in my house, I'll send him packing! You can't be james-bonding in my house and be keeping faces with me! When better hunger hold am, en sense go return.

Nonsense and ingredients.

I don't mince words at all!

Simple. Wash your hands in the same water your dad washed his and clean it and face your life. You can't love someone more than he loves himself.

My Sister, Your brother is clearly on the Path to Destruction.
Only GOD can redeem that young man.

My Admonishment to you as a Sister who cares about her brother is this:
Come into a Solid relationship with JESUS and then stand in Gap for your Brother in Prayers.
GOD can redeem your brother, but somebody needs to stand in Gap in Holiness and Righteousness.

I remember how my mum stood in Gap in Continous Prayers for I and my Siblings, even when it seemed we were lost in rebillion and sin.
Today , Everyone of us are hungry for Christ.

I remembered that thread...
Some people were meant to learn the hard way in life...

All u and your sister have to do is to make your father proud to make him not seem like he doesn't have a child...

Prodigal sons are real... Black sheep are real.. When they were telling the prodigal son in the good book to calm down, he probably didn't listen... He left, made his own mistakes and came to his right senses..he said.. "I will arise and go to my father".....
Your brother's I will Arise moment is not now because the mistake has not been made yet..

He is heading towards holding the EFCC signboard... That might be his I will arise moment...but for now just keep talking but I don't waste advice on people that won't listen when they have not made their mistakes that they should learn from as adults...

As a you g guy, I know of the peer pressure among us youths..
Look, we have only heard your part of your story but not your brother's..

Let him be, let him live his life and make his choices..

That you choose to paint us this story won't make your brother not to succeed and excel..

He is man enough.. let him be..

Am glad he has refused to settle for less with peanuts and meagre earnings and incessant beggings which some relatives might as well use it to spite him..

Let him hustle his way whichever way anyway.

This story makes me sad like very sad.
I know how i was raised.
I know how i had to miss classes in my uni days because of t.fare.
I know how i couldn't graduate with my mates because of school fees
I know how i had to hustle to support my schooling..
I know how i missed my whole neco exams because of t.far.
I know how i missed my crk weac exam because of t.fare..

Your brother is just an over pampared brat.

You guys should allow him survive on his own for some few months and see how he appreciates his blessings..

You might find my advice weird but that’s the best thing for your dad’s sanity and yours, let him send that young man packing his 21 and a graduate. Your dad should simply call him sit him down and tell him he can no longer tolerate his late night keeping because it gets him worried all the time, that he should choose either he comes back before 10pm or he will give him money to rent a house else where. Let him choose from both

Note
The guy knows his the only son and you guys can’t do without him that’s why his misbehaving I wish I can treat his fuckups show him the hard side of life

Hello dear, I'm not all that soft on ladies due to there numerous dramas that they being up but to be honest with you I like the way you express yourself freely in bit by bit and seek answers here on nairalandd when something is going through your thoughts when you need one.

I can see that you are passionate about listening to radio station, even going to the extent of contributing to the events going on there, its a good thing and I found out from your explanation that you derive joy from it.

Note that you are inspiring millions of people in your state and Nigeria as a whole from your honest contributions about societal issues on the radio stations. Keep that up and contribute more, perhaps you might change people for the best.

Since you love doing that why don't you find a way to make money from doing so, like becoming a radio presenter, or guest speaker or paid contributor or doing something very related to your hobby, trust me you will feel better, happier and more fulfilled while doing such career after all it's your passionate instinct or groom.

That's my little contribution to your questions.

As for your brother, be a good example to him, never give up on him, love him, pray for him, advice him in a friendly manner and most of all focus on yourself, hobby and career plans that's the most important thing to do now. Understand that after all these circumstances and when you are not around your home, it's who you are and your achievements will only matter.

Don't give up on your brother

I can bet you since last year till now, he has not made up to half of the money he set ablaze.

He has seen how hard it is outside but pride will not let him humble himself and accept good counsel from home.

Advise him to start a business

Dem talk say, " You can take a horse to drink water, but you can't force it to drink". I think you and your folks have done enough for him, so please let him decide now what he will do with himself. undecided

And please, if you have solid evidence of him having committed a crime against others, please do not turn a blind eye as then you will only become enablers in his wrongdoing. undecided

Your father has literally disowned him. You should do the same too. What you should be concerned about is the safety of other family members. Since he’s now criminally corrupt, your lives may be at risk

Same way I'm very scared for our last born and already tired of talking. Boy is only 15 and already thinking about iPhone 13 and Benz. Conversation with his classmates are nothing to write home about. He's not doing anything visibly wrong yet but I'm so scared for that child. sad

I've said it before and I will repeat it, until your brother sleep in cell with hardened criminals for 6month, where he would be beaten black to blue in the police cell or prison, he won't understand that, this life, you must take it easy...

I guess you guys are over pampering him may be because he's the male of the house, and by so doing, killing him and giving him that go ahead to do what he likes....

it may be over pampering that resulted in him being this way or drugs abuse and his circle of friends.

take him to a rehab facility let them do a test on him and find out the drugs he abuses in his system. Then immediately put him on rehab for 3 to 6 months, then monitor his progress from there on wards
