This is primary 3 Reader..it's not a novel.

Edet or Ali and simbi on Christmas day. Their father bought chicken to celebrate it.

Mehn...this takes me down memory lane and reminds me of my pry 3 teacher, Mr. Ibikunle. Very tall and grumpy old.
I remember, on one of our reading days, I just looked away for a sec and he threw a wooden duster at me and the thing hit me on the fore head. undecided.

Modified:
Wait o. If like many claimed, this is actually Ali and simbi, how come their father is Igbo? Is Ali an igbo name? Or even simbi? That is not Mr Nwosu lipsrsealed. I think it should be Mr Dada or something. grin.

No is because of the Three major language we have in Nigeria abi you no write waec you forget ciroma wey no they ever past waec av forgot the two other names

Mr. Nwosu bought two chickens for Christmas.
Is that how he was carrying the chickens all the way from the market, so that everybody will know that Mr Nwosu could afford two big chickens for Christmas?

GOOD OLD DAYS

EDET LIVES IN CALABAR
"Edet lives in Calabar, he is 8 years old. Every morning he goes to school, but in the afternoon he stays at home, he likes to read...."
Complete the first page grin grin

The other one was Nneka and Wakama...

**Nneka and Wakama were returning home from school, suddenly they heard a voice from the balcony, help, help...."

** Agbor lives in the town of Lagoon which is not far from Ibadan, he went to primary school, he was in primary 4...."

** The boys school is one of the best school in Enugu. They had 12 classroom and a library. But last term the government added 6 classrooms...."

Just remember a few paragraphs from the books....

I was the headboy then from primary 3-6, and I used to be the only one to read in the class when our English teacher comes to teach us. It was fun honestly.
Primary 3, 4, 5.... 1900s

It's a textbook not a novel.

Although it has some short stories in it including the one on the front cover.

Reader 6 is about Obi and Nneka. The first line read thus:
'Obi and Nneka were happy, it was the first day of the school year...'

You can still get this kind of books because of their engagements with our culture and the moral lessons. However, go for western books or Nigerian books that show developed English Language Arts, if you want to develop your child's writing skills with robust vocabulary.
