Over reliance on one thing is not good. What would we do in the world without fuel?

We should have alternatives

Isn't that obvious since 2015?

Mere apologies isn't enough. What about the citizenry's pockets in terms of bad fuel bought at exorbitant rates, bad fuel that damaged vehicles and machine engines?...

Apologies isn't enough

This is not about apology. It should be about accountability.

They should make public the person(s) responsible for the importation and clearance of the methanol laden petrol.

Next, they'll have to make good the damages caused by the bad petrol in terms of damaged cars, and the hardship brought by their negligence nay conspiracy.

In the long run, I see this as a precursor to the introduction of hike in price of petroleum products.
Imagine if this were China.
The organ donor market would have some more goods.
If you know you know. undecided

Lol. I get it.

We need to build very strong systems here.

Systems stronger than individuals.

That's the only time death as a punishment for corruption will yield results, if not, if we should introduce it the way the country is, the ruling party will use it to wipe out the opposition.

What we have here are individuals stronger than the systems. So they can rape it and get away with it.

Apologies are not enough. Someone has to be punished for this madness. Somebody approved that useless fuel to be brought and distributed in the country. They probably calculated the billions to be made by bringing those substandard rubbish into the country. Does it mean that there are no government petroleum officials to monitor and regulate whatever kind of fuel brought into the country? I know they are there and they have collected their own share of the cut and permitted that thing to pass. What a country. So who is is going to fix all the damaged generators and car engines? Will apologies fix them? We must start doing things right in this country else we will still be a shithole country 50yrs from now.

The right thing to do is to tender your apology and resign because you have failed at your job.

The group managing director of NNPC Ltd, Mele Kyari, who tendered the apology when he appeared before the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Downstream, said the situation was completely unavoidable as the problem was not envisaged.

Nonsense and wicked people!
We have Crude Oil since 1960 and you have been transporting it to other Countries, some become Emergency Billionaires- Nigerians benefiting nothing but are being robbed!
You now decided to be Importing Refined Oil Products to Nigerians under heavy Cost, yet you brought in Surlpuric Oil that damaged their homes!
Now,no Lights from Discos,no Oil for moving there wares, generators and Nigerians are wasting away in Fuel Stations, thereby punitive to them!
There is a Minister of State,Supervising Ministries( NNPC and other Subsidiaries) only for you to now think is normal!
Is this the same problems we are getting from other OPEC Countries? So,why are we like this?
We need to do better and find solutions to all our refineries!
