This is the reason the US feared selling planes to Nigeria before reaching a deal

One of the reasons why American has refused to sale fighter jets to us

I'm telling you. Retardedd brains can't pilot a fighter jet, if it's same I see US and Russia parade. You've got to undergo an intensive training and make it a core course. Fighter jets aren't toys
America pilots that go through intensive training, bomb countless homes, school and cars of innocent people in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. Are they retard too

Nigeria isn't ripe for use of fighter aircraft
Mad terrorist, we will keep using it to destroy you and your families. Collateral damages happen in warfare.

Death to all enemies of Nigeria...blow off their heads with bombs.

The Niger Republic has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Buhari government, and they are also now benefiting from his incompetence.

Properly trained fighters or untrained ones recruited on a nepotic basis?
Exactly. And does the Nigerian Army have bomber jets? If they do, they better give them up to the Airforce who - hopefully - can do better than this.

Sorry to say this that most NAF personnel aren’t properly trained and oriented as to the use of fighters jets, most time it baffles me of the kind of unprofessional display including cashing the military planes and jets, this is as a result of not giving those who merits those position to handle it, nepotism is just a problem.

I'm not denying the fact that air force could go off target especially in a densely populated environment where the criminal they're targeting lives. Civilian casualties would definitely be recorded. These guys were just given the jets to fight and such a number of casualties were recorded. That's not good at all. Before they cause more harm to innocent lives or bomb a whole town, they need to suspend the exercise and go for an intensive training.

Jeez... Goodness me!!! Human error though. If this had happened in nigeria, the military will never admit being responsible and will deny such occurience.

Don't be daft...NAF pilot are well trained....when news fly around about heir successes in bombing terrorist.... U don't come online to appreciate them...but a one off like this...u start wailing... Aircrashes happen in every airforce....and NAF pilot are not dominated by any particular tribe..inshort there are more southern pilots in NAF..Besides it a collateral damage ..it a normal occurrence ...u can't expect pilot to differentiate between children and terrorist thousands of feet In the air...

Am pretty sure those kids were in a terrorist controlled area...just like the bombing of fishermen in lake chad basin an area infested with terrorist..

It is disheartening to read the comments here, same group of people, that claimed it was normal in war when it happened to the US.

Nairaland youths need to take a deep look at themselves.

Anybody can mistake....even the top country's military airforce does... the terrain is entirely different view from above...especially with kind of speed in the cases of fighter jets...and they get almost zero recce or coordinates that re not entirely accurate...so I guess mostly they carry out attacks mostly on their instincts whenever they sight anything that looks like a gathering in the red zones..
And Nigerian airforce is one of the best in Africa...well trained.

For Nigeria to save you in this kind of a situation is like gambling with your life

Many of u don't understand how this things work...
It not about their training.... No amount of training can make a pilot flying thousands of feet in the air to be able to differentiate between a terrorist and a child on the ground... It not possible..

If it were to be a crash then u can say they need some better trainings... In this particular case ...I would say they need to do better in gathering intelligence.. Which isn't the job of fighter pilots..pilots are just trained to bomb and my target and they delivered this one well..besides.. Miscalculation and misinformation do occur...it completely normal..
Kudos to NAF

Imagine how a religion of peace has been wrecking harvoc to the whole world. If other religions have this "jihadic" mentality, what would have happened to the world? A true God defends himself just as the Christian God does. The little I study about Islam as a scholar in Religious Studies shows that these Islamic fundamentalists are following the footsteps of their caliphs, past leaders and Quran. Whatever anybody tells you otherwise is to deceive you. What is the difference between the Muslims in Ilorin throwing stones at Christians over hijab controversy and Boko Haram? The spirit is the same. It is like a full time prostitute and a run girl. The spirit is the same.

So we have taken our incompetence to another country. Those aircrafts have not spent up to 4months in the theatre of operation and Nigeria is making such mistakes . I can now see why US don't like selling weapons to us and even when do they they will have to give conditions for using them.

Let them be very careful before then go mistakenly drop one on US base in the country since mistake n their hobby

common Bro, there should be good intel and drone signal giving a clear view to the scene where they want to conduct air strike, there is always a collateral damage and mistakes but NAF has recorded little success in fight against insurgency and lots of things gone wrong mostly, mistakes should always be 10% while successful operations should be at least 90%.

Ignorant talk. These mistakes occur everywhere/anywhere in the world. You cannot rule out human error. Ask yourself, with all the daily raids conducted by the NAF, how many times have you heard of such unfortunate incident?
