This is certainly not a mistake.. The pilots intentionally pulled the trigger as commanded..
The problem is the intelligence.. And the fact that they can't differentiate between a child and an actual terrorist from the air.. And I suspect those kids were in a terrorist controlled area... So it makes sense for NAF to take dem as actual terrorist..
Rip to the dead..kudos to NAF..u can't expect 100%..the battle continues

Don't be daft...NAF pilot are well trained....when news fly around about heir successes in bombing terrorist.... U don't come online to appreciate them...but a one off like this...u start wailing... Aircrashes happen in every airforce....and NAF pilot are not dominated by any particular tribe..inshort there are more southern pilots in NAF..Besides it a collateral damage ..it a normal occurrence ...u can't expect pilot to differentiate between children and terrorist thousands of feet In the air...

Am pretty sure those kids were in a terrorist controlled area...just like the bombing of fishermen in lake chad basin an area infested with terrorist..
well said buddy sorry to say .does kids are boko harram children's if the news is true

Do you know how many such mistakes American forces made in the middle east?

common Bro, there should be good intel and drone signal giving a clear view to the scene where they want to conduct air strike, there is always a collateral damage and mistakes but NAF has recorded little success in fight against insurgency and lots of things gone wrong mostly, mistakes should always be 10% while successful operations should be at least 90%.
Don't lie to ur self na....NAF has recorded great successes...the problem is DAT when they post news about it...some folks (I hope ur not among) will come and request for pictures or they won't believe it...
So far the only significant mistake NAF has recorded in over 10 years of bombing terrorist and bandits in the north is the bombing of IDP refugees ,the killing of fishermen and this one...common ...in 10 years of fighting a war... Just 3 mistakes.. NAF has an extremely low casualty cases..

Besides ... even with electro optical/infrared sensors... NAF personnels will still find it difficult in differentiating kids from terrorist... Remember the planes or drones have to be thousands of feet in the air to avoid detection ...
But let appreciate the fact that even though the Intel was bad...NAF responded to it quickly.. If they turned out to be actual terrorist.... I can bet my left balls that u won't believe it or probably just keep scrolling.

Why won't they miss their target? Are they Airforce men?

I'm not denying the fact that air force could go off target especially in a densely populated environment where the criminal they're targeting lives. Civilian casualties would definitely be recorded. These guys were just given the jets to fight and such a number of casualties were recorded. That's not good at all. Before they cause more harm to innocent lives or bomb a whole town, they need to suspend the exercise and go for an intensive training.
You are funny o. You said they were just given the jets? So you know the type of jets involved in this particular raid or pilots just hopped into the jets without trainings? I’m sure you are making reference to the A-29s. Even if they just acquired the jets (with no reference to A-29s because those are not jets) NAF pilots undergo months of trainings, practices, familiarization or whatever you wants to call it, way before such jet/plane is inducted into the NAF inventory. In fact they have continuous training with such platforms. This is human error which happens everywhere in the world.

We never hear it when they mistakenly fire at Nigerian children.
They would tell us they killed bandits.
It's very likely they have been killing children all this while.
They only got caught because the people of Nifertility spoke out.

This is the reason the US feared selling planes to Nigeria before reaching a deal
chiokeman:
One of the reasons why American has refused to sale fighter jets to us
Nonsense, the US Air force made many such errors in the middle east - the reason they dont want to sell proper weaponry to Nigeria is imperialistic. They dont want a potentially powerful African country to possess any serious weaponry, period.

Maybe those people selling them the fighter jets should have made that a requirement before selling to them. But it seems they are only interested in the money, not concerned about what the weapon is being used for.
The sellers will not think like you because their pilots too are not innocent of this. They know that in a war zone, you cannot write off such accifents. They know that very well

Ignorant talk. These mistakes occur everywhere/anywhere in the world. You cannot rule out human error. Ask yourself, with all the daily raids conducted by the NAF, how many times have you heard of such unfortunate incident?
you only hear of few reported cases.you carry out ground surveillance first before bombing the specific tatgets

You are speaking little truth. if not for NAF, I don't the terrorists will be highly restricted as they are now. NAF is doing a good job. Some of you think fighting terrorism is a child play, it is not. Ask America who have the best of the best, they still struggle in the fight against terrorism

Not really with regards to ground surveillance. You will not always have the luxury of ground surveillance which may be the most accurate type (I stand to be corrected). There are different ways of carrying out surveillance. You don’t go on a bombing raid without intel and surveillance. They go hand in hand.

I still stand on d fact that their successes far outweighs their mistakes...

Try using DAT same phone to search for that of the US and other major world power...let balance the equation
