Syria couldnt win its civil war without the help of the Russians, Hezbollah and the Iranians. Syria at its current state couldnt defeat Costa Rica and they dont even have a military. Israel goes into Syrian airspace all the time and blow up weapons depots that are supposed to go to Hezbollah and havent responded once. You think if they were capable of anythign they would allow this happen. At best Syria would allow Hezbollah operatives to use terrorist attacks against Israel and that hasnt happen. Sryia couldnt take on Israel alone when they were at their heigh of military prowess, the idea they could do anything now is a joke.
Funny enough, Syria tried three times to defeat Israel, in 1948, 1967, and 1973. In 1948 Syria did not get past the border, in 1967 Syria lost the Golan Heights, in 1973 the Syrian army was destroyed and the Israeli forces were only 30 miles from Damascus when they stopped.
