Malawi's specific variety of cannabis has for many years earned a reputation as a highly desirable product among cannabis connoisseurs worldwide. In 2020 the Malawian government legalized cannabis, and the industry was launched, creating an instant revenue stream that stands to grow exponentially over the coming years, generating vast wealth for that small impoverished African nation. Here are a few Youtube videos chronicling the explosive launch of Malawi's cannabis industry, which commenced just recently in 2020.

Tobacco, a highly poisonous and medically worthless crop, had historically been a major income earner and foreign exchange source for Malawi, but subsequent to the legalization of cannabis in 2020 by the Malawian government, tobacco is set to be phased out as an industrial crop, so a to be replaced by cannabis, which is worth significantly more per unit weight than tobacco.

Former boxing champ Mike Tyson has been engaged by the Malawian government to serve as the nation's Cannabis Ambassador, in order to highlight the country's new foray into this highly lucrative agricultural endeavor. Iron Mike already owns his own medical marijuana company in the USA and was happy to be taken on board to help Malawi gain international recognition as a major player in the medical marijuana industry.

Meanwhile, Europeans visited Malawi to acquire thousands of Malawi marijuana seeds at giveaway prices and created indoor Malawi cannabis plantations in Europe from which they have for years been selling those same Malawi weed seeds at 4 pounds sterling per SEED, which translates to 3 thousand naira per seed.

Bearing in mind that each mature cannabis plant can potentially produce thousands of seeds upon maturity after pollination, one does not need to be a mathematics graduate to fathom the mind-boggling monetary fortunes of hard currency greenback American dollars that can accrue to Nigeria and her entrepreneurial citizens within MONTHS from the date that medical marijuana is legalized in the Nigerian federation.

Jakumo:
Currently in Africa, several countries have fully legalized the cultivation, sale and export of marijuana, industrial hemp, or both, and in the process, planted the seeds of multi-billion dollar business empires.

In Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Lesotho and Zambia, legislative amendments have decriminalized cannabis cultivation, thereby establishing fertile ground for both regional and foreign investors to converge in Africa, breathing new life into African economies at a time when many are struggling to break even.

The market in high grade marijuana seeds alone, rakes in massive revenue throughout Europe, with a single cannabis seed often selling online for as much as 15 US dollars, equaling 5 THOUSAND naira, for ONE single seed. On this basis therefore, a single cannabis plant can generate MILLIONS of naira derived from seed production alone, provided that the genetics of the plant have been carefully developed for high potency, flavor, and medicinal value.

A typical seller of marijuana seeds in the UK is Dr. Chronic, whose website is as follows

https://www.drchronic.com/products?utf8=%E2%9C%93&keywords=lemon

Check out this website and note the astronomical prices being demanded for SINGLE cannabis seeds, in order to fathom the gigantic economic potential of medical cannabis production in Africa, where abundant sunshine assures THREE cannabis growing seasons per year, as opposed to ONE growing season enjoyed in Europe and the USA.

Ghana was the most recent African nation to legalize medical cannabis production and export, and that landmark legislation was passed amid the confusion and upheaval of the Corona Virus pandemic, perhaps intentionally, so that the new law would fly under the radar and face less opposition than would have been the case under normal circumstances.

The devastating economic effects of the Corona virus are going to be felt around the world for many years to come, by ALL nations, therefore it is more important than ever for African nations like Nigeria to chart a course towards speedy economic recovery, that can help their citizens get back on their feet when the virus tidal wave that is sweeping our fragile planet, eventually subsides.

With the foregoing blueprint for economic recovery in mind, this writer hereby appeals to Nigeria's lawmakers, many of who secretly consume high grade cannabis in the privacy of their homes, to place Nigeria on a solid footing to generate massive wealth in the booming medical cannabis industry, by passing legislature aimed at FINALLY legalizing this healing plant that contains such a wide variety of naturally beneficial components just waiting to be exploited for the creation of financial EMPIRES, in Nigeria.

You are very wrong you have to look at other African countries which have legalized it like Zimbabwe and Malawi. When did legalize hemp the price completely collapsed even now to Battle is more expensive in Zimbabwe than hemp

You have made a very significant point, which is that the real profit is to be made not from industrial hemp, which contains NO psychoactive THC ingredient, but rather from medical marijuana which DOES contain THC and CBD, both of which have numerous therapeutic applications.

My layman's speculation, however, is that those cannabis legalization activists seeking to repeal archaic colonial-era marijuana prohibition laws in Africa and other continents realize that an incremental approach to their objective is the wisest option, whereby their initial step is to highlight the earning potential of non-psychoactive industrial hemp which is NOT grown for human consumption but for the production of rope, fabric and other consumer goods.

The intention behind this approach of initially pushing for industrial hemp legalization is to get a "foot in the door", whereby the closely related medical cannabis legalization agenda can be pursued AFTER the decriminalization of industrial hemp has been successfully implemented. This approach is to be commended in that it takes a gentle, back-door approach to enlighten closed minds in the corridors of power, where the resistance to marijuana's earning potential is greatest after generations of colonial-era cannabis prohibition have remained in force.

Thailand used to have some of the most draconian anti-marijuana laws on the planet, yet in 2018, the Thai government legalized the medical use of cannabis. Now that holiday destination country is moving forward to fully legalize the recreational use of cannabis, placing marijuana on the same level of legality as alcohol and cigarettes.

If Thailand which was so cruel to apprehended weed smokers in the past, could now have joined the league of nations that have fully removed all those archaic and repressive laws forbidding the use and sale of cannabis, then there is hope that Nigeria too can tread the path of common sense and enlightenment by enacting into law the 2020 Cannabis Control Law that was proposed by lawmaker Princess Onuoha of Okigwe North.

In this relatively new Youtube video, a professor of pharmacology tables coherent and convincing points in favor of legalizing cannabis ONLY for medicinal use, while Fat Boy Marwa desperately tries to claim that all who indulge in cannabis intake for pleasure and relaxation will turn into Boko Haram terrorists, which is a ridiculous claim that ranks among the most amusing falsehoods every concocted by any official worldwide till date.

The contrast between the logical, fact-based contentions presented by an educated professional, and the fear-mongering hysterical declarations made by a political appointee whose budget allocation depends to a large extent on cannabis remaining illegal, is readily apparent in the following video clip.

Anyone following the trends in America's legal cannabis industry will have noted the fact that black Americans are blocked out of the business by laws created to weed out entrepreneurs who are not wealthy while favoring investors with deep pockets, who tend to be white. In California, potential cannabis companies are required to rent buildings even BEFORE they obtain permits from the government to operate, and that stumbling block alone locks out the majority of blacks seeking to ride the cannabis wave to create generational wealth.

Fortunately, there are black Americans who are financially stable enough to meet all the rigorous conditions imposed by the government on cannabis startups. The black owner of Gashouse brand cannabis started out as an illegal weed grower in Atlanta, who escaped the eagle eye of the law for decades while amassing enough wealth to join the gravy train in California. His company is now worth $40 million USD, and his story hints at the potential for Nigerians to profit massively once cannabis has been legalized in Nigeria.

When you created this topic and made HUGE claim that you believe GMB will be the one to legalize weed in Nigeria, I told you I was willing to bet that he won't do it.
It would take a very visionary, non conservative leader with brass balls to take that enormous leap in Nigeria.
GMB doesn't fit that bill now, does he?

Thanks for stopping by once more, Whirlwind7. President Buhari has a while yet to go before his term of office is complete, so there is still a chance that he may recognize the enormous economic potential of legalizing the state-regulated and taxed cultivation for export of medical marijuana products and industrial hemp, whereby this landmark legislative change could still materialize before the clock runs out.

In other words, I continue to repose optimistic hope that His Excellency the President might act on this matter after due consideration and consultation, as have numerous other African countries all now reaping massive profits in hard currency.

The current status of Nigeria's Cannabis Control, Bill 2020, sponsored by Hon. Princess Onuoha of Okigwe North constituency remains a mystery to me also. One can only hope that powerful voices such as that of His Excellency Governor Akeredolu SAN of Ondo State, will continue to raise this matter in Nigeria's corridors of power.

If the Government do not want it to be legalize all over Nigeria, they can just put it in the Concurrent list, so any state like Ondo state that wants to legalise it, can do so.

There is a lot of money to be made from this industry.

This is very encouraging news to hear, that Nigeria's states might soon have the power to individually decide on the question of legalizing the controlled and taxed cultivation of medical marijuana.

Such a landmark decision will be analogous to the current situation in the USA where the federal government still considers marijuana a banned substance, while numerous states have gone ahead to reap the gigantic profits accruable from the cultivation of this medical crop.

While total legalization of cannabis at the national level in Nigeria would be the ideal situation to attain, it is perfectly understandable that an incremental approach may be a tactically wise legislative path to take with this once-taboo subject.

The greatest benefit attainable with complete decriminalization of cannabis cultivation in Nigeria would be that criminal gangs who currently control the trade would be put out of business overnight, and would therefore no longer have any economic incentive to poison cannabis with the deadly chemicals currently being used to spike the product and thereby ruin the lives of unsuspecting consumers. A moderate user of marijuana can harvest enough supply for an entire year of personal use FREE, from a single organically grown, chemical-free plant that matures in just 4 months.

Ondo State Governor Akeredolu has often alluded to the absurdity of the fact that CBD oil extracted from cannabis is on sale legally in Nigerian pharmacies after being imported at a considerable cost that is passed on to consumers, whereas Nigeria's own indigenous strains of cannabis have been shown by chemical analysis to have the potential of producing CBD oil and THC oil with exceptionally high quality in comparison to similar products produced outside Nigeria.

Hopefully, this hitherto untapped economic goldmine will be unlocked by the legalization of cannabis in Nigeria's very near future, ushering in an unprecedented period of wealth generation from the commercialized agricultural exploitation of this infinitely renewable national treasure.

That is very true indeed. In most states of the union, the requirements that must be met to obtain a cannabis cultivation permit entail massive cash outlays that typical ghetto-dwelling citizens simply can not muster. That said, California is at least attempting to address this imbalance by enacting legislation that favors minority investments in the cannabis industry, at least in part to compensate for the fact that historically blacks and Hispanics have borne the brunt of criminal prosecution for simple possession of marijuana going back decades.

Hopefully, African nations will learn from the mistakes and unequal opportunities confronting cannabis entrepreneurs in the USA, by ensuring that a level playing field is created the instant marijuana prohibition is repealed. At the very least, small-scale cultivation for personal use ought to be legalized so as to put out of business the criminal gangs who currently sell poisoned cannabis to Nigerians, to the profound detriment of public health and safety.

Tried those once in my life many moons ago and the experience was absolutely terrifying. Never again for me. Too strong and with the potential to cause insanity in people who might be more susceptible than others.

That said you can buy the spores online and grow your own at home. It is highly unlikely that any law enforcement officer in Nigeria would recognize magic mushrooms as a psychoactive drug, because they look like food ingredients that are perfectly legal to possess.

I had no idea what I was doing. We were sitting outside a house in a small Southern Californian desert hamlet out in the Lucerne Valley when I was handed a single dried-up mushroom which I chewed until it was ground up enough to ingest. Tasted like peanuts. I waited for a good half hour before the full effect kicked in, and then I wished I had never tried that chit. Perhaps indeed I had taken way too much for my own good, but nobody had ever mentioned the concept of micro-dosing to my hearing at that point..

Colored rainbows trailed my fingertips as I waved my hands in front of my face staring in wonder while the sinking sun gradually set in orange and red hues over the desert horizon. In twilight's fading imagery, distant mountain range silhouettes seemed to shape-shift before my disbelieving eyes and I began to fear that sanity was bidding me a fond farewell. Then came a truth serum effect that compelled me to disclose every secret I held dear to my heart, though fortunately, my fellow travelers were in no frame of mind to retain or comprehend any of my random babbling.

Finally, the chit just got downright scary and I wound up begging Papa God to show me an escape route from the labyrinth of disjointed and frightening thoughts in which found myself trapped like a woolly mammoth flailing haplessly in a quagmire for what felt like an eternity. The after-effects of that experience lasted for 2 days and I swore never again to try magic mushrooms for as long as I live. I have abided by that solemn pledge thus far.

I thank my lucky stars that the effects of those magic mushrooms only lasted a couple of days. Apparently, anyone using magic mushrooms has to take a megadose of vitamin C because those hallucinogenic mushrooms deplete the body of vitamin C in a sudden and drastic manner. My experimentation with that substance ended with that first and only dosage, but I do remember being utterly exhausted and emotionally spent for two days afterward. Never again haha.

I would not recommend magic mushrooms to anyone after what I experienced, though I have heard that under strictly controlled conditions, psilocybin mushrooms are administered where legal as a component of psychotherapy for war veterans and others suffering from PTSD.

Ketamine is another drug that I have been amazed to hear is abused by addicts in the UK, to the extent that it destroys their urinary system and renders them incontinent. My sole experience with Ketamine was when I was injected with an IV dose for surgery many years ago, during which I experienced abject terror and extreme mental trauma that was far beyond anything I imagined possible while I lay there fully conscious yet completely paralyzed as my innards were panel-beaten by the surgical team.

The following article on Magic Mushrooms was published in today's ( April 18th 2022 ) Los Angeles Times on page A-6

Veterans with PTSD are swaying lawmakers to allow research into psychedelic drugs.
By Lindsay Whitehurst

Matthew Butler spent 27 years in the Army, but it took a day in jail to convince him that his post-traumatic stress disorder was out of control. The recently retired Green Beret had already tried antidepressants, therapy and a support dog. But his arrest for punching a hole in his father’s wall after his family tried to stage an intervention made it clear that none of it was working. “I had a nice house, I had a great job, whatever, but I was unable to sleep, had frequent nightmares, crippling anxiety, avoiding crowds,” he said. “My life was a wreck.” He eventually found psychedelic drugs, and he says they changed his life. “I was able to finally step way back and go, ‘Oh, I see what’s going on here. I get it now,’ ” said Butler, 52.

Today his run-ins with police are behind him, and he’s happily married and reconciled with his parents. Butler, who lives in the Salt Lake City suburbs, is among military veterans in several U.S. states helping to persuade lawmakers to study psychedelic mushrooms for therapeutic use. Conservative Utah has become at least the fourth state in the last two years to approve studying the potential medical use of psychedelics, which are federally illegal.

A string of cities have decriminalized so-called magic mushrooms, and an explosion of investment money is flowing into the arena. Experts say the research is promising for treating conditions such as PTSD and for smoking cessation, but they caution that serious risks remain, especially for those with certain mental health conditions. Oregon is so far the only state to legalize the therapeutic use of psilocybin, the psychedelic active ingredient in certain mushrooms.

But research into their potential benefit has made inroads not only in blue states such as Hawaii, Connecticut and Maryland but in GOP-led Texas, Utah and Oklahoma — the latter of which passed a study bill through the state House this year. The progress is in contrast to that of medical marijuana, which Utah lawmakers refused to allow until a ballot measure helped push it through. However, the proposal to study a broad range of psychedelic drugs passed easily this year.

Texas has yet to legalize medical marijuana, but former Republican Gov. Rick Perry last year helped shepherd through a bill to use $1.4 million to fund a study of psilocybin for treating PTSD. “The stigma attached to psilocybin and most psychedelics dates back to the ’60s and ’70s. It’s been very hard for them to overcome,” said Texas state Rep. Alex Dominguez, a Democrat who sponsored the bill there. “My approach was, ‘Let’s find the group that all sides claim that they are supportive of.’ And that would be veterans.” He also heard from conservatives like Perry who support the use of psilocybin to treat PTSD — and let advocates from that end of the political spectrum take the lead publicly.

Maryland gave bipartisan approval to spending $1 million this year to fund alternative therapies for veterans, including psychedelics. Democratic sponsor Sen. Sarah Elfreth, whose district includes the U.S. Naval Academy, noted the spike in suicides among veterans. “I don’t envision [Veterans Affairs] acting anytime soon,” she said. “We’re at a true crisis level, and it’s time for the states to step up.” Psilocybin has been decriminalized in nearby Washington, D.C., as well as in Denver, which did so in 2019, followed by Oakland and Santa Cruz in California, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Cambridge, Mass.

There’s plenty of venture capital being invested from people who have had positive experiences and are “highly motivated” to fund the development of psychedelics as treatment, said John Krystal, chair of psychiatry at Yale University. Rhode Island lawmakers are weighing a proposal to decriminalize psilocybin this year, and in Colorado there’s an effort to get statewide decriminalization on the ballot.
But similar measures have stalled in statehouses elsewhere, including California and Maine. Research into psychedelics, though, has gained traction. In Oklahoma, a bill from Republican state Reps. Daniel Pae and Logan Phillips would legalize research on psilocybin. “I believe the research will show that there is a way to use this drug safely and responsibly, and it could save the lives of thousands of Oklahomans,” Pae said in a statement. The bill passed the House last month and is under consideration in the Senate.

It’s a stunning turnaround for a field that captivated researchers in the 1950s and ’60s, before mushrooms and LSD became known as recreational drugs. They were federally outlawed during the Nixon administration, bringing research to a screeching halt. New studies, though, have indicated that psilocybin could be useful in the treatment of everything from major depression to alcoholism, said Ben Lewis, an assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Utah Huntsman Mental Health Institute. “People are referring to this current period of time as the psychedelic renaissance,” he said. Up to 30% of those who suffer from depression are considered resistant to current treatment, and there have been few recent leaps forward in drug innovation, he added.

The risk of addiction or overdose is considered low with psychedelics, especially under medical supervision, and while some cardiac conditions can present a risk, many users’ physical reactions aren’t dangerous. However, experts caution, there are serious psychological risks, especially for people with certain forms of mental illness or a family history of conditions such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. “Then there’s a possibility that a high-dose psychedelic experience could sort of trigger that and lead to long-lasting mental health issues,” said Albert GarciaRomeu, an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Classic psychedelics include LSD, mescaline, psilocybin, peyote and ayahuasca. Plant-based psychedelics have long been used in Indigenous cultures around the world. Today, their therapeutic use at Johns Hopkins is carefully monitored, GarciaRomeu said. Patients are rigorously screened and typically have at least three appointments: one for preparation, a second to take the drugs and a third to work through the psychedelic experience.

For Butler, the 2018 arrest at his parents’ Utah home was a turning point. He started researching new ways to deal with the PTSD he has suffered since deploying six times to Iraq and Afghanistan and working in counterterrorism and hostage rescues in Somalia for the U.S. Special Forces, before retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 2017.

Eventually he came across ayahuasca, long a part of traditional cultures in South America. Last summer, he took part in a ceremony involving the psychoactive brew, overseen by a woman knowledgeable about its effects. She talked to him as the experience took hold, which he said included a feeling of euphoria, visions of geometric shapes and a sense that he was entering his subconscious.

The woman spoke to him about his childhood and how the military had shaped his life. “It really was as simple as having an experienced person who understood the medicine, who understood that subconscious space and understood PTSD. It was as simple as listening to her,” he said. He credits that single session with getting his PTSD about 80% under control, though he occasionally has another treatment if he finds his symptoms returning. In studies, two-thirds to three-quarters of people have experienced significant improvements in their symptoms, Garcia-Romeu said.

Those are promising results, especially for quitting smoking, as current treatments work for only about one-third of people, he said. The Food and Drug Administration in 2018 designated psilocybin a “breakthrough therapy,” a label that’s designed to speed the development and review of drugs to treat a serious condition. MDMA, often called ecstasy, also has that designation for treatment of PTSD. How quickly states move from study to wide availability remains to be seen.

Connecticut recommended legal medical use only after psilocybin is approved by the FDA, which may take until 2025 or later as the agency works through its process, including risk assessment. Approval is important to safety as well as to access, the Connecticut assessment said; without it, many insurance companies probably wouldn’t cover the treatment, leaving it available only to the wealthy. In Utah, the study team is expected to complete its work in the fall.

“We’ll see what can and can’t be done,” said Republican Rep. Brady Brammer, who sponsored the bill. “If they feel like it’s safe, it’ll be an interesting ride.” Whitehurst writes for the Associated Press. Jakumo:

I have learnt a lot from you. Thanks

Canada is not left out in the highly lucrative cannabis production race. This short video shows the workings of Canada's largest marijuana production facility. The figure that is worthy of note appears on the video screen at the clip's1.09 minute mark, namely that Canada's gross revenue from legal cannabis in 2019 ALONE came to 2.4 billion dollars. That is serious money y'all, and Nigeria stands to rake up comparable profits the instant marijuana is legalized in Nigeria.

Boss, we need to make this dream come to live and draw a lot of people out of poverty. Is there like a petition we can do, to effect this changes?

The two notable public figures that are leading the initiative for the legalization of cannabis are Princess Onuoha, a lawmaker from the Okigwe North constituency, and our amiable Akson Gomina of Ondo State, Arakurin Barrister Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN. Here is a new video clip of the dynamic duo taking a guided tour of a multi-million dollar medical cannabis production facility in Thailand, a nation that until very recently suffered under some of the harshest anti-cannabis laws on the planet.

If Thailand can see the light so as to legalize medical and recreational cannabis for commercial exploitation, then certainly Nigeria too can repeal its draconian marijuana prohibition laws, so as to board that train to mega wealth for the nation's government, and for her citizens.
