I know Anambra will do well with Gas.

Enugu will do with coal.

You can add others.

This is the first time you're posting something that is not about IPOB and Biafra. This account has been hacked angry

OP are you now tired of obsessing over IPOB?

You remind me of the story of the boy who cried wolf.

lagos has the money to settle that. im very sure Lagos will start making process immediately
Re: Which States Will Produce The Most Electricity? by richiemcgold:
Even before the new law, Lagos has already been investing in IPP for years. This new law will now enable it to get better.
Ondo state too has a power plant project at Ore, but the power generated there are not for households; it is only for industries at Ore industrial park.
There's Bonny Island too in Rivers state. They have never relied on national grid; they generate their power 100% independently.

Definitely Lagos!

she has the finance!

Anambra will be one of the states the revolution will start, with governor elect, we have enough man power that will key into the project, people like, Oilserv, Nestoil, Orient and Seplat, we are also blessed with huge gas reserve
Re: Which States Will Produce The Most Electricity? by LegendHero(m): 7:50pm On Mar 02, 2022
I will tip Lagos state because they have the purchasing power to consume the power for the sponsors to reap benefit or break even.

Power generation is very expensive and for the state to break even, they must have citizens that can afford it in their multitudes.

If NBS gives us the correct data of states residents purchasing power, that can help each governor to understand what it will feel like if they embark on such huge projects.

Governors will now start campaigning with “I will give this state 24hrs electricity and bla bla bla”. Looking forward to that honestly.

All the state in Nigeria can be self sufficient in power production. The north will explore hydro power, wind and solar,South west will explore hydro power and buy gas from Midwest,South south is hydro power and gas while South East will harness their hydro power, coal and gas

Go and sit down. The second Niger bridge is in progress. Did IPoB ask them to stop work.

There is construction ongoing at Obosi Onitsha by Julius Berger. Work is going on there daily. Did IPoB disturb them?

Stop painting Southeast as if there is war happening there.
Re: Which States Will Produce The Most Electricity? by Ojiofor: 8:14pm On Mar 02, 2022
Geometric Power Limited already doing that in Abia state.

First they will stop every work going on on mondays and every other day their fraudster goes to court. This already creates a hostile environment.

Investors will normally be guided by police escort. And IPOB loves killing police to get AK47.

Now they will ask for settlement before any project takes place.

You can't wish their activities away.

You’re correct. The only best alternative for the North especially is hydro power. Even currently now, most of the hydroelectric power plant are domiciled in the North either operational or non-operational.

Kainji, Jebba, Shiroro, Mambilla, Dadin Kowa, & Zamfara Power Stations for example.

So if they are trying to build state owned, they will have to plan based on purchasing power of people that will be utilizing the power (this applies to every state). Except if they are going to be subsiding the sector heavily and that itself will also impact state finance.

Looking forward to how it turns out for all states.

The cheapest, efficient, reliable and clean source of energy is gas turbine power plant which will be easy for eastern region

Do you mean the cheapest among all the energy source? C’mon solar energy is the cheapest you can find anywhere.

In some decades ago, solar energy used to be expensive but not anymore in this current age.

Lastly, by the way the Eastern region states are not the only states with gas, I hope you know?
Re: Which States Will Produce The Most Electricity? by DankemzI(m): 8:44pm On Mar 02, 2022
Akwa Ibom State has Ibom Power plant (IPP) with a 5,000 capacity and plans to expand to 15,000 which is achivable with our massive gas reserve!
This will make Akwa Ibom the most industrialized state in the Niger Delta

Yes among power generation type, fossil fuel power generation is cheaper when compare installation capacity to that of Solar, hydroelectric is most expensive.

Guy you are deceiving the public.

There is kidnapping and Ritual killings in Southwest. Yet Lagos to Ibadan Railway construction was achieved.

Stop acting as if insecurity is peculiar to Southeast.

Bokoharam is very active in Borno, Katsina, Kaduna etc. Yet government projects are ongoing in those areas.

But you keep ranting on this platform as if Southeast is the worst insecure part of Nigeria.

Please grow up.

It's not about the finance but the will to do, don't let anyone deceive you that power generation within a state is beyond that state capacity.

Any state in Nigeria can achieve it in , 5years if priorities

Well if you factor in the economics on a long term basis solar powered electric will eventually be cheaper than fossil fuel especially for the North.

Currently now they have a proposed 100MW Solar capital project in Bauchi and another JBS Wind power project under development in Plateau state with 100MW capacity too. They just need to explore their own core competency in Solar and hydro-electric.

In this game, if every region are left to fend for themselves with their own resources, each region will have to eventually make use of what is economically viable for them with respect to power.

Mozambique for example generates 81% of their electricity from hydro and Ethiopia also generate almost 90% of their power from their hydro-electric since that’s their own economically viable way.

Solar i believe will require battery storage. And will hardly store enough for huge energy demand.

Like I said before, the consumption power and the ability for the consumers to pay for those electricity will be a great driving force in predicting the states that will do the most well.

Currently the state with one of the highest numbers of IPP in Nigeria is Ogun State. Even with a greater combined capacity and number than Lagos state.

I might be wrong but you can correct me if you have better source.

That is why it has to be a kind of divided source. You can make use of solar for rural areas because it will be more convenient for the consumers to pay the fees on a long term and you can use the usual hydro & Gas powered one for urban areas and industrial area.

Imo was the first state to have an ipp so relax

Exactly. At the end of the day, we might discover that electricity isn't as expensive as it is today. As more investors get involved.

With the current development of blind cells and power mix that can be fix. Many appliances can be converted to DC that would tap it's current directly from panel during the day while other mix would take over at night
