Afamed:He is not paying less taxes than is required by law. His businesses in Nigeria pay the right taxes. He is just doing what any sensible business man would do. He Ensured that his finances are optimized. He is not paying more taxes than he need to. And that is the kind of common Sense attitude we need in govt. Not excessive wastages. 2 Likes |

OChimex: Since he found himself in that Pandora reports, I can't trust him no more. I'd loved him to rule alongside Atiku then as I watch him floor the erudite VP Osibanjo in the VP's debate, but no more! |

qekng40: I really don't know how true the Pandora stuff. But I know he reduced cost of governance, cost of many other things that the government pay for during his tenure. Now coming to corruption. Everyone is corrupt. No one is perfectly good, but some people are good enough to be regarded as good. Just like no colour is perfectly white, but some colours a white enough to be regarded as white. From what I know about him. I think Peter is the best candidate that can save Nigeria at this point. I can trust he will make a lot of positive changes in our mode of governance, that the past administrations dreaded. What Nigeria needs is someone who is not wasteful, not tribalistic, will make decisions in disfavour of the high and mighty, will do the right thing without fear or favour, who believes in functionality over flamboyancy. And Peter Obi is all that, and more. 4 Likes |

Afamed:You should be ashamed of yourself, is Obi a lawyer? He has lawyers that handle all legal to issues and he followed exactly what his lawyers asked him to do. He declared his own assets, the law is not clear on whether you should declare an asset if it's jointly owned with others who might not want it made public. The law says declare the assets of your children who are still under age but did the law say declare those assets if they are jointly owned by other adults who have their own power of attorney? That's a matter for the courts to decide but obviously the attorney generals agree with Obi since none of them have ever accused him or brought any case against him for money laundering. You are just an ignorant buffoon arguing what you know nothing about. 4 Likes |

gidgiddy: Exactly. No only good men, for no man is good. Politics does not require good men, but competent, capable and intellectually sound men. Obi has proven that in Anambra in the past and his views ever since have remain consistent on what the big problems of our time are pertaining to Nigeria. Unfortunately the structure of this country guarantees that competence and capability will never ascend to power. That sentiment and affirmative action will continue to rule so mediocrity will be our only experience going forward. It also means for people like us getting a PVC is a thorough waste of time thoughtless of participating in elections where it is Hobson's choice time and again, a straight shootout between bad and worse. Restructuring is the software that Nigeria's democracy needs to function properly. |

Afamed:A business man invests his money where he will make maximum profit, you can't force them to invest where they won't make gain and you must be a very stupid fool to call him a thief for investing his own money where he wants to. When your father makes his own money, you can tell him to invest in Nigeria but you don't have any right to tell someone else how and where to invest his own hard earned money. 3 Likes |

Afamed:You are such an ignoramus, So you think your useless knowledge on nairaland is more than that of all the attorney generals and EFCC chairmen in Nigeria since 2006? Can you show me what the law says about declaring assets of businesses jointly owned by other adults? The funny thing is that all these while you have been arguing like a fool, you have not shown us any accusations in the so called pandora papers that Obi stole anything all you are arguing about is whether he declared his OWN assets, I can't emphasize that enough, his OWN assets. When will you show is how he stole money from Anambra state or any government office he occupied? 2 Likes |

Mooh247: LMAO now I see the agenda. But let's make the records clear: 1. The EFCC NEVER invited Peter Obi "severally" according to you, neither did they ever call him to explain misappropriation of funds during his tenure of governance in Anambra state. 2. The EFCC invited him after the weak Pandora allegation that could not even fly for a single day. The EFCC wanted to pander to the media but ended up fooling themselves because the propaganda didn't fly- which begs the question why it couldn't? I'll give you the answer: - The Pandora hogwash was an allegation of "evading tax" against him and having a company abroad. It was NEVER based on an allegation that he stole Anambra state funds to stash abroad. - It was cleared up by him and many other learned persons, that those funds offshore LEGITIMATELY AND LEGALLY made by him, outside Nigeria and he didn’t have any obligations to keep them here, where they'd be subject to inflation and devaluation! He also didn't run those accounts. They were run by a hedge funds management for investment and saving purposes. - Of all the persons named in that Pandora paper, only Peter Obi came out to clear things up and state his side, which effectively put paid to the silly propaganda. - If you must know, Peter Obi was already a multi billionaire before even delving into politics. Unlike some, who claim their demi god made his billions as an accountant with Mobil but get furious anytime he's asked how he made his money. Then while asking for security vote details, kindly also ask Lagos state to make public it's spendings which is covered by the FOI act by the way. They have vehemently refused to after many years despite the FOI act being invoked and we are not even talking about security vote spendings yet. Now if you'd like to learn, those are the details. That said, I'll like you to kindly provide proof as to the "numerous invitations" he's gotten from the EFCC as you earlier inferred. Thanks. 2 Likes |

Your common sense should have told you that for this man, an opposition Politician and big critic of the government to still be in Nigeria all these years with not a single case brought against him by the the government either through the ministry of justice or EFCC even after the so called pandora papers that they don't have any case against this man but you're obviously an ignorant kid and very mentally deficient. 5 Likes |

qekng40:They are also places you can invest your money to avoid being taxed heavily on it. Peter Obi didn't go and stash stolen money somewhere, he invested his own hard earned money where he will make maximum profit from his investments which is what any smart business man would do. He committed no crime so you people should stop all these nonsense about pandora this, pandora that. 2 Likes |
