What I don't understand is why a sane person will hold on to a moving car. Is the car more valuable then than her life?

How some of you reason like asslickers to celebrities is what I don’t get.
You scratched someone’s car, the person came out of her car to bring it to your notice and the next thing is to ask for her account details and phone number so you can drive off? What happened to parking your car by the road side and attending to the person right there?
How can you say you didn’t see someone holding your side mirror when you moved your car?
Who took the lady to the hospital? Was it Timaya and his team?
Why did Timaya block the lady’s sister on IG after she called him out?

My sister abi brother the matter tire me pass you jare!! grin

Leave those people matter make them go dey alright Las las!!

The lady for me decided to escalate the whole stuff making it look like a big issue when nothing much is there....

The story get as e be.
So timaya did not know he had scratched her car.

Note that when the woman confronted him, the first thing he did without resistance or hesitation was to ask for her account details.

Why ask for her details if u didn't already know ur at fault?

Hmmm...

Holding on to the side mirror of a car about to move was wrong. Think life first before you start that road rage.

Those shouting Timaya should have stepped down knows nothing. If I was in his shoe and a celebrity I won't step out either cos she could an assassin.

Timaya should be careful next time while driving most celebrities are guilty of this anyhowness while on steering.
oga even if u are not a celebrity, once a mob starts gathering in Nigeria, it is very unsafe to remain in their midst.

Typical comment of someone who's never driven before

You're a certified dunce period. If you have ever been to Lagos before just go to Ajah-lekki to ikate junction where VFS is. Stay there for a while in the morning and observe what happens in the hold up when there's a little space for movement. Mumu!

From the write-up Timaya didn't handle things well, infact big manarism is worrying him

You bash someone's car, you feel too big to step out of your car to see the damages you've cause yet you effontary tells the victim to give you her number meaning you will talk to her later when you have her time then you will now claim you never know her

You must be winning me if you don't know that in Lagos when there is a car bash we all stop at the scene of incident to resolve it

Exactly what I'm thinking, Timaya felt too big to attend to the lady in a respectful manner and that's why the lady held on and she was like (She go rather die there).

As I'm reading through Timaya's defense, I can smell lies.

Well, it's still better has he retraced his step and thank God the victim has been discharged from the hospital as he said.

If you are stupid enough to hang on to a moving car, you are on your own.
I blame Timaya though. He should have parked and did the needful transfer.
So what's with the rigmarole if you finally arrive at what I've been saying before? Park and settle with victim. If at the point of parking you feel your life threatened, flee but straight to the police to make an entry. This whole thing wouldn't have been this blown if dude had waited and settled with the victim or at least made an entry at a police station. But no, he went for an important engagement and just like an after thought, decided to send emissaries to the victim.

Yeah but now the question is "was it worth it for the lady injuring herself over the bash?". This could have been worse, what if she hit her head on a pavement. Timaya will pay, maybe be detained for a while. But she loses the most.

Until you experience it.

For safety purposes, if you are involved in any altercation on the road and you sense that the other party is not reasonable and boys are gathering, drive off immediately and report yourself to the police

Exactly. There is nothing I fear more than a hungry mob out for blood.

Chief, Nigeria is turning everyone into angry pressurised vessels. Add that with the current madness in lagos and you see why the lady acted unreasonably. At that point, her sense of logical reasoning has left her. And I can bet you, she felt Timaya was trying to use his 'celebrity' status to overshadow her hence why she decided to turn it up a notch. Las Las they will be alright, Timaya has taken the most important step of reaching out and apologising and I love the fact that he was heaping those respects for the lady's hubby, that's his surest way to get her to calm down, most other parties from the lady's family right now will want to flare things up unreasonably, knowing Timaya has more at stake here.

All is well that ends well. Glad the injury is not worse. Both parties have learnt their lessons.

Please cux of those quoting me, the guy said some boys were already gathering round him. Knowing how jungle justice is in Nigeria, what would you have done in his position? This is clearly self defense...it is better he drove off than to get maimed.

Not advisable to hang around a mob especially in Lagos. More so, as a well known artiste. That Ikate area of Lekki is filled with a lot of jobless hemp smoking and dangerous boys. You are never sure of what's going to happen. If his claims are genuine, that was the best approach. To send someone there or drive to the police station to self report that he left the scene because of a gathering mob.

This statement is just what it is, statement. We can read through the lies. Seriously drove off without noticing someone was holding on to your side mirror? Anyway, good a thing you did the right thing by apologising and cooperating with the family, so long as she is not pushing the case to court, you are fine
Are you sure you didn't read back of the writeup, because there was no where it was written that he drove off, without noticing that someone was holding the side mirror. Next time don't be too lazy to read and if you do read comprehend before commenting.

Lagos is like an open air asylum for mad people. People hardly act reasonable. I can imagine the scene with the lady running after the vehicle in a traffic while holding on to the side mirror. Nigeria is a land of irrationality. The god of chaos (Esu) love it there with the overwhelming clash of human interests, both good and bad. You don't want to get caught up in it.

How, if I may ask, can you confirm whose narrative is the right one? Or do you automatically want to agree with Timaya's because he can't lie? Or are you corroborating his story with that of the man in this same Timaya's car?

This defence is even medicine after death...in a sane country he would be in jail cos it's a crime to leave an accident scene before the police arrive!
Thank God you know Nigeria is not same, if he stepped out, do you know how many people that will mob him, what the woman should have done is to give him the details, then if it happened she didn't get a response she can then go to social media like they like doing and call him out.

I know you don't own a car and therefore have not driven on a road before to know whats possible on Lagos roads. With the way people drive in Lagos, often at very close proximity in traffic struggling to outwit each other for road space, it's possible for many to get home, only to found out that their car has scratches.
