I think it's a numbers game.
The corolla was best selling car, so I wouldn't expect a benz with not upto a quarter of toyota sales to have the highest number of scrapped cars.
Number of accidented cars isn't always a function of reckless of drivers, it can even be a flaw of the design

2003 Corolla drivers are really reckless. This is due to the fact that most are Commercial drivers in a hurry to make returns, the others drive that way because it burns less fuel than the average 4 cylinder cars and parts are readily available and cheap.
