What is the difference between people buying fuel with gallons in a filling station and taking them home and this one distributed at an event center as take home?
What message do Lagos State Government want to pass?
That the same fuel a boy of Thirteen years is sent to buy in the filling station is now a harmful or dangerous commodity not to be shared as Souvenir?

The organizers of the event should just sue Lagos State government for enfriengment to the rights of the masses in a failed Country and Government.

God really saved them, very dangerous souvenir.

But they are supposed to arrest the organisers and not lock down the facility, that's someone's business.

Caterers normally use camp gas to warm their food and the event center is even a tent.

they should arrest her, and leave the event center alone

I think people should stop clout chasing at all cost. This is weird. Do they think that they are being creative? Well the government doesn't thinks so and I will say fuel isn't a commodity kept or carried around anyhow. People need to be careful to avoid unnecessary troubles

Lagos State Safety Commission is responsible for the regulations and monitoring of the safety of public places, like buildings,event centers, cinemas etc .There are certain safety measures, rules, policies guiding these places and the Lagos State Safety Commission ensure compliance especially if the breach poses great hazards to people and the environment. The event center knows better this could have been avoided in the first place.

But why? They were only giving what is largely needed

Try and be reasonable. That was a wedding reception and most wedding receptions have fireworks display and we have seen cases of where event halls have been burnt down because of these fireworks. In the case there is fuel inside the auditorium, what if fire had happened don’t you think lives would have been lost?
They were right to seal the building Cos the management didn’t do their jobs .

It is still very wrong for a safety officer to wear slippers on a field work like this . If I were to be the owner of the event centre I would question his right to seal my property for safety violations while himself is guilty of the same offence. But this is naija Sha anything goes.

Imagine if a fire outbreak had occurred, it would have been another national disaster and we may not have known the root cause. Sealing the event centre will serve as a deterrent to owners and management of event centres to try to monitor what goes on in the spaces they give out. The organisers should be located and made to face the law.

Giving petrol as souvenirs is madness. Somethings are against ethics and principles and such is one of it.

If you want to distribute something as volatile as petrol, you need to do it with common sense. Not by packing fuel inside plastics and stack them inside the hall full of people. You can distribute fuel from the tanker or fuel pump directly into the individual container one at a time.
It's not every nonsense that should be defended. It is not every corrective measure that should be criticised or seen as them vs us.

This show that so many educated people are not just educated. I was surprised that people are in support of it.

This country has a lot of double standard. How can you distribute fuel in an event centre and you are saying such an event centre shouldn’t be sealed?
I can remember same scenario in Fun Factory in Ibadan years back. When we lit candle to do candle light. The management of the event center used fire extinguisher to send us out.
If the govt doesn’t act up una go complain, the event center saw them bring in those gallons of fuel and they kept mute.
I don’t think the youths are ready in this country.

Na wa for some of una reasoning o. Sentiment is what is killing you guys here. Those distributed by the politicians were been dispensed from a fuel tank and is mainly DPK not even PMS and beside it was done outside with a better air space. To manage incident is better outside rather than indoor.
