Use booking.com or hotels.ng to find hotels or lodges near Abuja airport. You can compare costs and distance from the airport before making your decision.

Simply Google "Covid test in Abuja" and you'll find a slew of options, including NCDC-approved testing centers and those that market themselves as international travel testing centers. Visit any of these locations in Abuja, compare testing costs, and compare testing methods and turnaround times, keeping in mind that you will be performing PCR rather than an antigen test. Then make your decision.

Although a yellow-fever test is not required in Cyprus, immigration officials in your nation may insist that you receive one at the airport.

As a new student arriving in Cyprus, make sure you bring originals of all your credentials, copies of your acceptance/admission letter, proof of payment; proof of payment for the Pre-test, and tracking (Guvende, 750 TL).

---At the airport, don't look like a gangster, don't wear partly torn clothes in the name of fashion, and don't wear your Jean below your butt.

---Also, avoid being a transit carrier for drug dealers, and when you get in Cyprus, focus on education and look for ways to intellectually and practically improve yourself in order to earn global demanding skills in addition to your degree.

---Be upbeat and don't join others who moan/wail around that they went to Cyprus for reasons other than studying; your goal for traveling to Cyprus, according to your acceptance letter, is to study, so study.

Finally, avoid being involved in any unlawful activities. It is always preferable to be at ease with whatever you achieve in a legitimate manner.

Best wishes!

Thank you for your elderly, detailed and resourceful advice Sir. I'm truly privileged.
I promised to adhere to everything you've said.

God Bless you Sir.

Hello WIP

Please do you have details on covid test before and upon arrival in Nigeria from North Cyprus? Is it the same RT-PCR test that needs to be done in North Cyprus 72 hrs prior to arrival? And the covid test upon arrival to Nigeria, what country of departure should we fill? Cyprus or Turkey as Ercan/Lefkosa does not pop up as the option of departure airport. Please advise. Thanks

Hello Prof, please i need your counsel.
I heard from a friend in Cyprus that as of yesterday, quarantine has been nullified and that there's no need to pay for the quarantine and the bracelet as long you've a valid 72hrs covid test from Nigeria when you land at Cyprus. Please, help me to verify this.
Also, after uploading my covid test at the Guvendel Kal app, is there still any need to pay for Adapass since i haven't and don't intend taking the vaccine yet?
I heard the Adapass is around 20k. Can i do it myself? How should i go about it?
Hope i won't have issues with immigration officers at the airport without it.

Your timely response will be greatly appreciated Sir.
Thank you

Although I just arrived in TRNC from England a day ago, I have had adapass with three immunizations and have my negative PCR onward test, thus there is no need for me to pay for the test again. This evening, I'll pick up my delayed baggage from the airport and confirm for you about travelers without adapass who are traveling from Nigeria.

Also, after uploading my covid test at the Guvendel Kal app, is there still any need to pay for Adapass since i haven't and don't intend taking the vaccine yet?

Wait for my confirmation. Also, you must be vaccinated in Cyprus.

Adapass is FREE of charge nobody pays for that. You only pay for Test and tracker which is 750 TL and 400TL will be refunded after your quarantine.

Hope i won't have issues with immigration officers at the airport without it.

Your timely response will be greatly appreciated Sir.
Thank you

Follow my earlier posted advice!

Hi,

I just confirm for you at airport now, you don’t need to make payment of 750 TL again. Just your negative PCR is okay.

Wow......
Thank you so much Prof, I deeply appreciate you Sir.
So this means as long as i have my valid 72 hrs covid test result at arrival in Cyprus, no need for the 750tl, bracelet and quarantine?

Also sir, how should i go about applying and registering for the Adapass myself? if its actually necessary i do so when coming to TRNC.
Will a demand be made for it at the airport since i haven't taken the vaccine yet?

I really appreciate your timely respond Sir.

Adapass is for those who have been vaccinated...so if you get vaccinated in Cyprus, just go to the adapass website and your information would have been submitted by the Government.

I just noticed you're in Nigeria. What will your 9-year-old do when he arrives in Cyprus? If the person accompanying your kid is not a family relative, such as his parents, and he is not coming to study... This, I'm afraid, will be a problem.

Hi,

You can use this website to get an idea of where to stay, how much it will cost, and to book the accommodations you want before leaving your country. On the website, you'll find the contact information for the property owners or agents.

Simply search up your university's address and hunt for accommodations near it. The majority of Near East students reside in Lefkosia, but you must ensure that the place you choose to live is not too far away and that the university bus is easily accessible.

and also how about the quarantine. Will I also pay before leaving Nigeria too, thank you as you reply to this question.

As I stated in my previous post, quarantine in TRNC is no longer in effect, and there is no need to pay for it. Simply bring your negative PCR test result with you when you arrive.

However, one of the students who flew from your country three days ago was forced to pay at the Lagos airport. He explained to them there is no more payments in the TRNC, but the immigration authorities in your country insisted on making him pay and wasting his money.

I advise him to contact TRNC's health department to find out how he can get a refund when he arrives.

Important

Also, they have been deporting some students upon arrival in recent weeks, according to information I've received, the most of them are from Africa, and primarily from your country.

They now conduct interviews upon arrival, check your phone occasionally, inquire for your school's name and what you plan to study, and examine your appearance and other factors. The majority of deported students have no idea what university they are attending or what course/program they wish to take, which makes me wonder if they are actually interested in studying.

Best wishes!

Adapass is a program that records who has been vaccinated in the TRNC. You may be required to produce proof of vaccination against the SARS covid virus in order to attend classes or enter select stores or government buildings.

As a result, the adapass contains information on people who have been vaccinated in the form of a barcode, which you can easily display when entering the above-mentioned locations and be admitted. After you have been vaccinated in Cyprus, you can obtain an adapass, which is a valid means of demonstrating to another country that you have also had a vaccine.

After being vaccinated, you get it when you arrive in Cyprus.

Here are some of my advice and experiences...
1. I had to pay the 750tl for the quarantine at Abuja airport. I was told though it has been stopped, they've not been officially told about it.
2. Please endeavor not to carry above the required KG of your two luggage's. Cost of extra weight and luggage have become very expensive.
3. I heard a week before i came, some Nigerian's were caught hiding drugs inside foodstuffs. As a result, Immigration officers at Ercan started destroying local African food brought into the country. I had my local foodstuff destroyed except my beverages and some company's labeled food items i bought from Nigeria.
4. Those without vaccination card from their country were required to pay $10 at Ercan airport.
5. Please, its important to open a dollar or Euro account before coming. This depends on the currency you're required to pay your fees. And come with good amount of cash in foreign currency, You can always go to an exchange office to trade your foreign currency for Turkish lira whenever you're in need of it.

A friend helped me in securing an affordable studio apartment for 1000tl a month at Lefke.
So far, I've had good experiences with both black and White people here. I've even received a free frying pan and some fruits from a white woman store where i use to buy things....

I want to specially appreciate Professor Wip for all the help and counsel he rendered, God Bless you Sir.

Please Prof, I've written to the Ministry of Health about the possible refund of the 750tl i paid before coming but no response from them yet. Is there still anything i can do about it?
Thank you Sir.

Yes, those smuggling narcotics and several illegals are wreaking havoc on the innocent, and before you know it, the poorly educated souls would declare Cyprus to be a dreadful place. How can you bring illegal stuffs into another country and expect them to treat you well?

Cyprus promoted itself as a study destination. People applied for admission claiming to be going to study but, in reality, they were going to ship drugs to Cyprus under the guise of studying.

One even came to this thread recently to advertise how to illegally transport people to South Cyprus and seek for client to contact him/her. On this thread, I had to remove his illegal posts.

These individuals frequently degrade various countries and soil the names of their countries practically all places they live, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, India, and Dubai; if they are not trafficking narcotics, they will be scamming on the internet (Yahoo yahoo).... So they'll argue that the United States and Europe are better, but I'm curious as to why they continue to commit crimes in the ostensibly better countries. I just find it hard to understand these individuals.

I have not had time to write on this, but I have had some chats with my Ercan immigration contacts about what is expected of new students, particularly those from AFRICA and specifically your country.

In regards to the refund, call the phone number listed on the adapass website and request to speak in English and explain your issue. There is a certain lady who is always helpful in this respect.
