I don't see any reason for this thread. The sad reality is that the few that can't speak Igbo because they were born in ordinary Lagos are even grave minority compared to those born within that Lagos that can speak Igbo.

I have noticed that most Efulefus like to make their personal problem a national one. The fact that you personally can't speak Igbo because you were born in Lagos doesn't mean that you should broadcast something that you should be ashamed of as of it affects others who can speak the language.

If I am to rate the ratio of those born in Lagos that can speak Igbo to those born in that same lagos that can't, I will say that it is 15:1 in Igbo favour.

If you doubt it, create another thread to ascertain the ratio, then you will find out why I say that those that cannot speak Igbo should just keep quiet and get lost.

They made their choice
Sensible take...

Shameless detractors always trying to lay hands on anything to degrade Igbos...

Igbo language is dynamic and the little minds know it...

The igbo language and culture is actually more interesting and beautiful than yoruba and hausas most white people love the igbo language it's the political marginalization of the igbos in nigeria that's actually the root cause of these.
okay I hear you,now rest!
interesting my foot...lol
ibo language and interesting shouldn't be in a sentence.
I will even take benin language ahead of ibo

Don't play that card. It doesn't work on Ndigbo any longer.
If those Efulefu in Lagos decided not to learn Igbo, then we have no option than to consider them lost.

The Igbo nation have passed the stage of blackmail. Once they step into Igboland or any Igbo affair outside Igboland, they will be reminded without remorse that they are Efulefus. People with no nation.
Thank you so much Bkayy. Time for rubbish and useless narrative is over. We have many issues confronting SouthEast to tackle than this.

Igboid:
This is not true.
Igbos naturally would like to carry a non Igbo in their midst along.
So when an Igbo meet a fellow Igbo, and there are non Igbos in their midst, he wouldn't want to make the non Igbo to feel left out by switching to Igbo language to communicate with his fellow Igbo.
He will ensure that he keeps the language in English so as to carry the non Igbo person along.

A typical Yoruba doesn't have this social intelligence.
I lived in Yorubaland for 2yrs plus and I can't count how many times they switched to Yoruba language once they meet each other, leaving me in the cold and not giving a f.uck about how I feel.
An Igbo is proud of his language but would never do such.
And this is what some of you translate to Igbos not being proud of their language.
Succinctly captured.

Psquare and Tekno are two examples that being born outside Igboland is not an excuse because they were born at extreme ends of the contraption.

Secondly if there was an element of truth in what you people are saying, you wouldn't be worried about Igbo taking over lagos.

It is quite funny how you people like deceiving yourselves like your fake statistics in Nigeria.
This is my anger with y'all oo. How do you think, in your own enlightened mind, can ibo take over a Yoruba state? You think Yoruba are that stupid? This thread was meant to educate large numbers of ibos seeing the language a taboo to be spoken openly and not some avenue to warm ego-massaging soup.

Despite the numbers of Yorùbá in London, has the Yoruba taken over London? Is it even possible in this time and age? Wasn't same you ibos claiming to be marginalized? So all these your marginalization cries is just a cover up to your ulterior ploys?

Like I don't get. You believe the large numbers of Yoruba in Lagos, including those in other 5 southwest states including Kwara, Kogi and Benin republic would fold hands and watch some ibo take over Lagos, their pride? If that even wants to happen, you must have taken over all our traditional positions in Lagos first and then capture the political spaces.

What manner of people are you guys gan sef? Your elders ain't exempted from this daydreaming. The ibos with brains would spank your head with 2x2 if you say this trash beside them. Ojukwu wanted to try it but was turned back at ọrẹ. I never wanted to interface in this thread but this your rubbish vexed me.

An adult shouldn't be seen typing rubbish.

Wake up, ibos are losing their space in Nigeria. Stop fooling yourself online. Yorùbá aren't actually nice oo, we only think before acting. You've not done what could seriously destroy your livelihood in Lagos. The day we see that you've started making some silly moves, you see how 'cowardly' Yorùbá are that day.

Yes my dear. We have more pressing issues than to worry about bunch of Efulefus in Lagos.
Those that derive pleasure in demonising the Igbo culture on social media. They normally start with "I am Igbo but.."

And these bunch of Afonjas that not being able to speak Yoruba is the difference between their lower class and middle class want us to help the grave minority of Igbo HATERS in Lagos learn Igbo. Maybe so that their mission of destabilising Igboland with those Efulefus to be complete but they don't know what is coming.

Not being able to speak Igbo in Lagos shows those that value their heritage and those that don't. Those that don't are grave minority in that Lagos and they make up 99% of the anti-Igbo culture comments you see on Social media with Igbo sounding names. The remaining 1% are just Afonjas doing their normal hating

I don't know where op got his idea.

The number of Igbos in Lagos that speak the language far outweighs those that don't.

And we see the fools as efulefu, except those that are genuinely trying to learn.

There's this pride we have speaking Igbo in the midst of Yoruba. We hate hiding our identity.00p

Sorry.

We don't recognize Lagos as Yoruba state. Another delusion is you thinking a large number of Igbos see the language as taboo.

A lot of Yorubas in Lagos don't even speak the language. What do you say about that?

Most Yorubas are in Pekam. So don't delude yourself.

We don't have political interest in Lagos. We know what our interests are, and we are not failing.

Another stupid Yoruba delusion.

Ojukwu had no interest in Ore. If not, he would have taken the city.

His interest was Gowon and he stays in Lagos.

Igbos are not losing any space in Nigeria. We have always been more strategic and foresighted than your ancestors.

Again, we don't go for immediate wins like Yorubas. We are long-term planners.

We are already making our moves in Lagos, but you guys are not seeing it.

We have no interest in sabotaging Yorubas in Lagos. You guys will never understand our moves.
