Urbanchampion: Ah, Russia and Ukraine, I have basically decided that both sides have a point, so I am not commenting much on that one, except to correct and point out some wrong anaolgies here and there At the end, it is a fight between pro and anti Russians, or pro and anti Americans. As for me, let them fight. I'm neutral. 1 Like |

ChybuzzDD:You're extremely dull Taiwan can't even declare independence. Any day dey declare independence, China will attack it and the USA won't do anything Do you think China is like Nigeria that was created by the British? China has been existing before England A Chinese Emperor is the founder of Taiwan. Most of the People in Taiwan migrated there from Guangzhou, China Is just like London not been part of England, or Moscow not been part of Russia. It does not matter what the Taiwanese want, is a Chinese province. You need to read and stop showing how stupid and ignorant you are. |

24brains:Bro, you need to make use of your brain You guys have no idea of this issue Una just dey put your mouth in Taiwan has always been part of China. Taiwan was founded by a Chinese Emperor thousands of years ago, so it has always been part of China. Chinese from the mainland migrated there and were living under the protection of the Chinese Emperor. Nigeria is not China, China has been existing for thousands of years China gave Taiwan to Japan after losing a war to Japan. After Japan lost in world war 2, Taiwan was taking over by China back and it was under the control of China. A civil war happened between democrats and Communist, the communist pushed the democrats out of mainland China and the democrats retreated to Taiwan. Taiwan has never been an independent country, it was founded by a Chinese Emperor, populated by Chinese from the mainland, and it has been part of China for more than 700 years. Nigeria was created by the British, China was not created by the British. China has been existing before England and Nigeria. Taiwan can't even declare independence, it will be attack by China why the USA will do nothing. You guys can't just be always emotional in everything. Read and understand about this issue, stop disturbing person with your ignorant quote. 2 Likes |

Re: China Wants ‘Reunification’ With Taiwan, Echoing Putin’s Comments About Ukraine by Igbofam: 7:34am On Mar 06, 2022 |
Parachoko: Wrong wrong wrong. China is Part of Taiwan should be how you say it and not the other way around. Taiwan always existed on its own and was never a part of China. The Republic of China was founded in 1912 in China. At that time, Taiwan was under Japanese colonial rule as a result of the 1895 Treaty of Shimonoseki, by which the Qing ceded Taiwan to Japan. The ROC government began exercising jurisdiction over Taiwan in 1945 after Japan surrendered at the end of World War II. The ROC government relocated to Taiwan in 1949 while fighting a civil war with the Chinese Communist Party. Since then, the ROC has continued to exercise effective jurisdiction over the main island of Taiwan and a number of outlying islands, leaving Taiwan and China each under the rule of a different government. The authorities in Beijing have never exercised sovereignty over Taiwan or other islands administered by the ROC. From the late 13th to early 17th centuries, Chinese people gradually came into contact with Taiwan and started settling there. The island was colonized by the Dutch in the 17th century, followed by an influx of Hoklo people including Hakka immigrants from the Fujian and Guangdong areas of mainland China, across the Taiwan Strait. The Spanish built a settlement in the north for a brief period but were driven out by the Dutch in 1642. In 1662, Koxinga, a loyalist of the Ming dynasty who had lost control of mainland China in 1644, defeated the Dutch and established a base of operations on the island. His forces were defeated by the Qing dynasty in 1683, and parts of Taiwan became increasingly integrated into the Qing empire. Following the First Sino-Japanese War in 1895, the Qing ceded the island, along with Penghu, to the Empire of Japan. Taiwan produced rice and sugar to be exported to the Empire of Japan, and also served as a base for the Japanese invasion of Southeast Asia and the Pacific during World War II. Japanese imperial education was implemented in Taiwan and many Taiwanese also fought for Japan during the war. In 1945, following the end hostilities in World War II, the nationalist government of the Republic of China (ROC), led by the Kuomintang (KMT), took control of Taiwan, however there was no transfer of territorial sovereignty. In 1949, after losing control of mainland China in the Chinese Civil War, the ROC government under the KMT withdrew to Taiwan and Chiang Kai-shek declared martial law. The KMT ruled Taiwan (along with the Islands of Kinmen, Wuqiu and the Matsu on the opposite side of the Taiwan Strait) as a single-party state for forty years, until democratic reforms in the 1980s, which led to the first-ever direct presidential election in 1996. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Igbofam:Why can't Taiwan declare itself as an independent country? China is the one sitting at the UN security council not Taiwan... Why is it so? Taiwan as been existing as a province of China since 239AD. Taiwan recognise Mainland China as part of Republic Of China(Taiwan) territory. Taiwan also recognise the whole of Mongolia as been part of Republic of China(Taiwan) go and read about their constitution so you will see all this. |
Re: China Wants ‘Reunification’ With Taiwan, Echoing Putin’s Comments About Ukraine by Igbofam: 7:45am On Mar 06, 2022 |
Parachoko: Wrong wrong wrong again! Taiwan had already declared independence long ago which is why they run a democracy and have their own president as a democratic state in 1996. They have their own flag and their own currency (New Taiwanese dollar) while China uses Renminbi. They are not Chinese even though they share a large part of their language as Mandarin speakers. Taiwan is independent of China and has declared so. Find attached the flag of Taiwan first and the flag of China second 1 Like 1 Share
