What's Your Opinion On Giving Dj's Food At Parties? by Nobody: 6:54am On Mar 07, 2022
This actually made me remember what happened at a party(weeding to be precise) where the DJ was fuming because he requested for food at the party and he wasn't given.
some people was of the opinion that he shouldn't be given food due to the fact that he has been paid for the services while some said courtesy demanded that he should also be served food since he is also present.

nairalanders,what's your opinion?

You're not morally obligated to serve anyone food in your party, not even the invited guests, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't.

It's like an employer saying he will not provide drinking water for his employees at the office because he pays them salaries. It may not be wrong, but it's mean.

shocked

The DJ shouldn't fume because he wasn't given food, he shouldn't have embarrassed himself to that extent, he should have been consoled with the fact that he's not doing a voluntary job ,that he's been paid for the services he's rendering.

But the Organizers, the family, the groom and the bride or whatever of the wedding are very selfish, stupid and wicked.
What is food? that they can't give it to the DJ. They make it look as if food is gold

Anyways they family and all those that the wedding concerned are broke...poor people everywhere... Because they managed to pay the DJ a dime, they want to starved him to death... uselesssss lots

It doesn't matter that they had already paid for his services. They should've given him food, even more so when he asked. How cruel that they turned him down.

I think the reason they didn't give the DJ food is because he didn't reduce price for them.
Its tit for tat.

Klass99:
Offering food/drinks to service providers like the DJ or artisans who do work in your home, is a way to build goodwill with these people.

It creates a nice and lasting impression of you in their minds, such that when you need their services next time, they don't give you the excuses or attitude they usually would give to clients whom they don't like or the ones who were dramatic and full of complaints.

From where I come from giving food to visitors, strangers and even paid artisans who carry out repair work, is not a big deal and has never been a big deal. I watched my mother do this and now it is a part of me, I reap the benefits all the time.

Reasonable people will often respond to you, the way you treat them.

A lot of people are naturally wicked. This same thing happened where I stay last month. The man that came to repair the freezer had been working since morning until past 6pm. When he was done, he still waited to test the freezer to see if it was working properly. This is an old man in his 60's. He looked so tired and worn out, I took pity on him and decided to give him food. It was dinner time so I just made the Eba with soup to reach him. My aunty came back and saw him eating in the kitchen. She said "Baba eat o, if you want more make them put for you". I never knew she was just pretending. The next day she started talking that why did I give the man food, she had already paid him so he had no right to eat. I was shocked. So she was just pretending when she said "Baba eat, if you want more make them add". This is the same person that when their pastor comes to the house, she will serve him food that he can't finish and still put in take away plate for him to take home. She has been doing it since January without complain, but the old man eating food is a big problem for them.

This is why some people don't receive blessings from God, they will be praying without answers because of their wicked hearts. What is food especially when it is a party? How can you even feel ok that you gave everybody food and not give one person just because you paid him? I fear some people.

Your aunty is only trying to tell you that you're not in charge. If you give her pastor food in her absence (or without her consent), she might react the same way.

Not true. I give money every month so she can't say I don't contribute to the food. Besides this isn't her house, it is a family house so she isn't in charge either. If do same for her pastor when she isn't around, she will thank me. I do it almost every weekend when he comes. She worships her pastor like God. It is just because she doesn't think the man is worth it, especially because of his looks.

Okay. May be you need to work on her mindset especially now that you live in the same house.

I can't work on a woman in her 50's mindset. Everybody knows her character, make she dey her dey. Even all the prayers she does can't change her.
