All that could have been avoided with a simple govt photo ID. Voting is done over multiple days and weeks. So someone could have voted with your letter a week earlier by the time you show up on election day

That is why a bank for example do not give money first before checking ID, We can as well tell the banks to pay whoever shows up with your bank statement without checking ID, wait for you to complain about missing money before starting investigation. They stoped all that back and forth by simply asking for an ID before you can do inside the bank transaction

Thats some countries. For example in Nigeria I didnt have any form of ID till I was over 20yrs. In Nigeria at the time I left, I dont think local flight even required ID In America its needed. We use govt issued IDs for many things here
