I know the landing cost nonsense will be their escape route. How can you explain to sane people that the crude oil you exploited from Nigeria was transported overseas by Nigerian vessels for refining only for the same product to be fared back to Nigeria with a landing cost narrative. This is absolutely insane and illogical. |

Buhari is the father of poverty, I've been saying that for a while now. You can argue & say oil prices are determined by the global market, if you do that, you would also have to tell me if inflation & breakdown of everything are sold on a global market. Now, it's obvious that Buhari only wanted to be Nigeria's president only for the title, he clearly had no vision for the country the 4 times he ran. As terrible as Goodluck Jonathan performed as president, Buhari has even outperformed him(Goodluck) in terrible performance. |

why won't it skyrocket. how are jet fuel produced? are they not produced from crude oil? have nigerian government allowed the owners of crude oil to control this their natural resource and create industry and refineries to produce the finish goods. isn't the northerners and south westerners also fighting for this same oil instead of focusing on their region and their own resources? |

prettyboi1:The same goodluck DAT couldn't maintain the refinery or delivery infrastructure even with the relatively good oil prices and production rate... The reason why we r in this mess is because previous government allowed the local refinery to fail...it is the same buhari that began support modular refinery to come up ..began rehabilitating portharcourt refinery..and supported Dangote massively to start his refinery ... If goodluck did all this ..won't be have a functioning refinery to alleviate this mess by now?.. All what Bubu did for the petroleum sector...the product will only be witness during the next administration... The same way..we witness the product of the failure and neglect of this sector in his tenure by past administration |

dele1727:You were making sense until you got to the emboldened. There's something called purchasing power (and disposable income). That's why it's misleading to run exchange rate and compare how much commodities are sold in countries. You see, the US is a rich country, while Nigeria is extremely poor. For instance, the minimum wage in Nigeria is #30k (about $60) per month, while that of the US is $7.25 per hour. If you calculate that in 22 days and 40 hours per week that fed workers do here, you will have over $6k (#3 million) per month. Now, you tell me, why would anyone who earns that salary have a problem buying gas (as they call it) at $4 per liter or more? One thing about Americans is that they have an enlightened society. When prices increase, people take to the streets in protest to express their displeasure over price changes. In Nigeria, it's an entirely different thing. You criticize people in government and their defenders will insult your tribe, gaslight you or call you a wailer as it they don't go through the same hardship. |

prettyboi1:U only see him as useless..because u expect him to cast a spell DAT will disappear he repercussions of the failures of past leaders... When Yar adua denied Dangote the privileges of taking over our local refinery and continued to pay heavy subsidies for fuel..Nigerians loved him cuz fuel was cheap and the oil money was still plenty..they didn't know that single decision to keep the refinery moribund will hurt us today.. now every body is at the mercy of Dangote to finish his own.... Yar adua allowed Dangote to buy and repair the refinery.. By now..our economy won't suffer this much... I will continue to blaim them more than Bubu who is correcting many of their mistakes |
