HISTORY OF NIGERIA'S LEADERSHIP DISTRIBUTION BASED ON ETHNO-RELIGIOUS AND REGIONAL BACKGROUND Below is the data that calculated the years Nigerians are ruled under religious, ethnic and geographical location considerations. 60 years since independence, Nigeria was ruled by: 11years Obasanjo- Yoruba 9 years Yakubu Gowon-Angas 8 years IBB-Nupe 6 years GEJ-Ijawa 6yrs Nnamdi Azikwe-Igbo 5 years Abacha-Kanuri 7 years Buhari (+2yrs military regime)- Fulani 3 years Shagari-Fulani 2yrs Yaradua-Tuareg 6 months Agunyi-Ironsi-Igbo 2years Murtala, Shonekan & Abdussalam-Fulani, Yoruba & Hausa. If calculated along religious line, it can be seen that Nigeria was ruled under Christians Presidents for atleast 32years while Muslims Presidents ruled for 28 years. When calculated along geographical location, it can be seen that South ruled for almost 24yrs while North rule for almost 36yrs. Yoruba ruled for approximately 12years, Fulani ruled for less than 11yrs, Angas ruled for 9yrs, Igbos ruled for 6yrs, Ijaw had 6yrs, Kanuri had 5yrs, Nupe had 8yrs, Tuareg had 2yrs while Hausa had 1year only. North-Western presided Nigeria for about 17yrs, South-West presided for about 12yrs, North-Central enjoyed approximately 18yrs, South-South presided for 6yrs, South-East had 6yrs while North-East are still struggling to get to the apex position and still not agitating for it. 2 Likes |

PrinceOfLagos:From which part of yoruba you are from? Politics is a game of strategy not based on sentiment or turn by turn. If north gets it again, same cry will still come up in 8 years time. An enemy within in person of obasanjo can not be mischievously installed as president through back door and we are claiming sw has had their shot at the presidency. If sE want to be president, they need to be strategically positioned, not moving up and down within political parties without pattern. Victory will not be handed over to anyone on sentiment, you need to plan and work for it 4 Likes |

The man has made valid points. What more is injustice than 8 years of SW presidency and 8 years of SW vice presidency, and expecting another 8 years. In all fairness, the SE should have a go at it. The problem of this country stems from the denial of equity, justice and fairness. It is morally wrong to exclude any region for too long in the scheme of things. It's not logical. It will be very unfortunate if allowed. 2 Likes 1 Share |

And I’m here waiting for him to even mention South-East who has never tasted President nor Vice. Hypocrites everywhere, I’m not Igbo either but, Atiku(North) did Vice 8years, Buhari(North) is doing 8years, so what then is this Youthful Advanced Agama saying? Wether you people crucify me or not, Yorubas remains the problem of Nigeria. They always want to behave innocent and neutral in the eyes of people, but chameleons they are, Fake! Fake!! Fake!!! But you funny o...So if he says amen, that proves he is Yoruba? Iyen o n'itumo Praying or cursing a person sounds like a joke especially if a person considers you spiritually insignificant.. He may a political agenda and looking at your monicker, you have no apologies being a bigot, what I expected you to do is counter Deji's view. And never thing all igbos or Yorubas think alike. The next president must...yes, must come from the south east. I'm yoruba before tinubu urchins take swipe at me. I hail pa Ayo Adebanjo for saying the truth. He's the eldest of all leaders in Nigeria today. He can't be wrong as a nonagenerian 2 Likes 1 Share |

This is quite dum.b of Deji, so instead of power going to SW it should remain in the north if it doesn't go to SE? So if it's unfair to SE not to get it, why is it fair for the North to stay in power for another 8yrs making it 16yrs? Which stuff.pid analogy is this? Just say power needs to go to SE period, why are you indirectly championing the north to retain power? Is everyone in that country going mad? Why must power go to the north every 8yrs? |

PrinceOfLagos: Lets not forget from that north, Atiku and sambo enjoyed 8yrs & 6yrs as VP respectivey if we add that up with yaraduah & buhari tenure 3yrs with 8yrs that is 25. From the south, obasanjo had 8yrs and osibanjo enjoying 8yrs sum up gives 16. i keep saying it yoruba as worst set of humans to have as tribesmen.. on which grounds is the north preferrable judging from the numbers of years north have being at the elms of affairs. if not hypocrisy why will it be Ok for north that had 25yrs to retain power over south that had 16yrs in all, adeyanju is just a bastard looking for what to eat. 1 Like |

Only a Yoruba man will say something like this. Yorubas are naturally balanced people who don't like cheating or misuse. Deji has said his own. Only Yorubas will seat down and be thinking of the interest of others in this politics game. All osinbajo has to do is to pick a candidate from the north for vice. Tinubu needs a candidate from north central as vice. Atiku should pick a vice from south south/ south west. Peter obi pick a northerner. Las las the north is returning to power one way or another. But NOBODY can bully yorubas to back off, because it seems that, this is what some people expect. |
