Dessers is now the first Nigerian in a decade to score five goals in Europe.

His coach has officially given him the starting place.
Osimhen came so close though…

I've said it here before that there are different kinds of Centre Forwards. There are different kinds of Strikers. Gone are the days, you would have a 6ft 5 behemoth waiting in the box and bullying all the defenders. Football has evolved beyond that.

I'd pick a 5 ft 7 Jermain Defoe over a 6ft 1 Diego Costa any day any time. But that's my personal preference.

We need to change with the times else we'll be left behind.

"To pacify everybody......I put him on the standby list"

Read between the lines. Its either some NFF bigwigs took bribes from Onazi, attempted to force him on Eguavoen but the coach was having none of that and decided to put the player on the standby list as a compromise to keep his job.

Or

Eguavoen took bribes from Onazi and attempted to put him in the first team but the NFF was having none of that, so coach and federation agreed to put the player on standby as a compromise.

In either case, Onazi (or agents acting on his behalf), bribed somebody to put him on the team. Shame.
Putting him on the standby list alone, is already a dent on his name and credibility. He shouldn't be anywhere near the SE list.

I wonder what Onazi is looking for in the national team...
Even at his peak, Lazio was the biggest club he could play for... Is it now that he is past his peak and playing in the Saudi second division that he is hoping to use the super eagles to revive his career ?

This is just selfishness on his part..

Very selfish and unpatriotic. Onazi himself knows that he can only be a liability to the team at this point. For Pete's sake, man couldn't even establish himself in LITHUANIA in 2021.

Even if his greedy agents are pushing him to pay his way back into the SE as a means of resurrecting his dead career, I expected Onazi as a veteran and a suppossedly mature player to turn that down.

O nwere ihe mmadu na akari akari.

The La Liga is a very technical league. In my opinion, even more technical than the EPL. Only recently did the EPL supercede La Liga in terms of overall rankings.

Iheanacho is a very technical player. Iheanacho and La Liga will be like bread and butter.

I hope you understand now
Sure nacho is technical

I remember the commentator's remarks about Iheanacho yesterday. He said ' Now that is what you need from a Centre Forward, brilliant.' This was even before the goal.

Like I said earlier, only top notch coaches will know how to use a player like Iheanacho. It's very easy for a coach to regard him as useless just because they don't know how to use him but that's on them, not him.

This has nothing to do with him changing his game to suit a coach's tactics but has everything to do with the coach refusing to be stagnant and taking that bold step to educate himself on how to use Iheanacho. Players like him are rare. Very rare.

Of course some people will ask ' Who is Iheanacho that a coach should learn how to use him?'. grin
Mention the top coach to unlock his potential?

To even have the guts to defend this rubbish. He nor know say many of those advising him want him to fumble and fail, even those in his team— so they can take his place or get food off his mouth.

Dey there dey have the final say.

Pep wanted him to stay but as a backup. Iheanacho decided to leave because of game time. Iheanacho had a decent Man City career.

If only he can use that same level of impatience that caused him to leave Man City, to leave Leicester.

All these do not apply when you take offense when none is given. If you choose to interpret a statement in your own way and then take offense in your interpretation that is your business. What if France and England were mentioned specifically because they are both European nations and the player is based in Europe? African conversations will put Africans first, same with Europe.
