Is the citizens actually in support of what is going on... All the travel ban imposed on them by most countries, freezing of international accounts/closing of corporation... social media etc... Do they really like that?....

If they don't like it and the country is truly a democratic country, what is stopping them from speaking up to defend their country from economic/ financial collapse.. Just wondering..

1. It took the combined forces of US, UK and Australia over 3 weeks to capture Baghdad in 2003. There is a difference between capturing a country and destroying a country. For Russian air forces to destroy Ukraine or Kyiv, it will happen in couple of hours. Capturing a territory requires street to street battles to root out enemy elements which may run into weeks or months.

2. "A great army doesn’t ask 3 countries (Belarus, China and Syria) for military help" America hardly goes into war without taking other countries to it, that was the essence of their establishment of NATO in 1949.

3. If Russian Army is trash, then what will you call the army that ran away from Afghanistan after getting exhausted from fighting a ragtag militia?

About contradiction, no i did not. I did not state anywhere that Russia's Putin is right or wrong. She has reasons for her decisions whether we accept it or not and US and Ukraine does too. The reason for each countries actions (national interest) is what we are discussing here and possible outcomes.

Right or wrong is subjective to each of these countries in this case. America believed she is "protecting the world" like IGP of the world, Russia believe she is protecting herself from NATO and western interference in her affairs and Ukraine is protecting her right as a sovereign state with rights to association and self determination. So, none of them is wrong or right entirely.

Oga, countries have had sanctions for years and they are still surviving. Cuba has had sanctions for over 60 years. You know what, they have the best Healthcare in the world. The highest ratio of doctors to patients. Their literacy level is higher than even the US. Americans, Canadians go on medical tourism to the sanctioned Cuba.
The sanctions placed on Russia 2014 made Russia more independent. From being an importer of grains to the world highest exported in less than 6 years.
It will be painful at first but they will overcome.

Yes, you are right so say that, but how many of us and those that are against Russia now are against US when she took the same action by leading NATO to invade Libya in 2011 (the aftermath is the security crisis we have in Nigeria now, with monumental arms proliferation and emergence of deadly AQIM and ISWAP terror groups within our national borders, apart from our indigenous Boko Haram), Nicaragua Banana wars 1912, 1989 invasion of Panama, 1998 invasion of Afghanistan, Vietnam 1955 and 2003 invasion of Iraq. Are these countries not sovereign and independent when they were invaded? they all had their presidents and a constitution too.

So, whatever we are accusing Russia of at the moment, US had done worse. And she is in no place to place sanctions on Russia, thats hypocrisy cos she is guilty too. US should leave those roles to the UN and other Peace loving states.

Take Iraq for instance, US said she had seen Weapon of Mass Destruction in Iraq and accused the government of using chemical weapons. All accusations were discovered to be false decades after the war. US is yet to show the world the Iraqi WMD and the Chemical weapon that they were so convinced about prior to the invasion. Other western nations called for caution by she went into it alone declaring war.

She only succeeded in creating a failed state and a breeding ground for terror groups, remember ISIS?

So, the way we don't look away when unpopular state did something wrong, we shouldn't look away when the popular ones do it wrong too. Its called equity and makes our world saner and safer.
