But you were talking about only the extra blocks needed if he insisted on taking a certain approach. That was the main point in your initial post. Agreed, all these you listed are additional cost which would still be included , but those were not what we were talking about.
I understand the possibility of additional blocks but when a quantity surveyor is involved, it takes off most part of guess work. Personally. I will never build any house without their service, no matter how small the project is. Surprises are not my thing

My point is, for that size of house, a surprise of #250k for additional 1000 blocks should not be much of a big deal for anyone committed to achieving their dream house.

The thought process here is almost similar to that of yemi2plus.

1. Don't you want the occupant of the rentable room to be cooking?
2. The laundry is a wet area and won't function well at that point you have it. For a laundry space, consider plumbing, light, a space like a verandah where one can hang-dry clothes during rain or when there is no dryer.
3. Your ducts are poorly positioned and represented.
4. The lobby at the first floor is dead.
5. It will be nice if you can increase the width of the family Lounge by 600mm.

I wouldn't use tarpaulin. Polycarbonate sheets are better and last longer. Except cost is an issue.

Like I did mention earlier, there are some painters that aren't mine that did perfectly neat application.
I specifically requested for@ Thenext to post a few videos of the internal painting done by his painter.
I'm particularly impressed with the neatness and how they took their time to do the cutting of the top part, lower part and part where different colors meet for first coat.
If not told, you would think it was a finished painting and they are yet to apply the second coat.
The final coat and cutting would be uniform with this approach.
The paints were supplied by me and I can definitely give you same product at a much cheaper cost.

Very neat work - The block seems to be 4 inch sef.

But i think our own very Topsy or Skimanski can deliver something like this, even though people hardly invest in tools in Nigeria

Yes, they may apply a primer to help make the paint bond better without peeling easily from the screeded wall and to prevent excessive absorbtion of paint.

And 4500 is no even justifying the work in respect to pay . The youth are realizing they’re in modern slavery thanks to the government!

They will lift blocks , lift concrete , mix sand for good solid 8 hours just to get 4500? That’s an average of 563naira ! Bro it’s slavery you and I that have good education and good job will never accept that . And I’ve done those cheap labors so I know whats up .

I left my base to the base of my laborers and bricklayers December they were very happy ! I’m talking a distance of an hour inside ibadan ! Then I knew not even the money we pay them makes them happy as the visit I gave them which made them feel happy !

I watch this boys climbing roofs and supplying concrete to their boss . Please 4500 is not even worth the effort they contribute in construction if we are being fair ! This boys working in sun and rain and we chill in ACs. It always break my heart . Nigeria is unfair to us ! The labors in ibadan take 2500 now imagine what 2500 can carter for !

When we start paying per hour that is when we will know why the youth are no more interested in apprenticeship or artisan works . We know why people have suddenly realize it’s a modern slavery !

If I’m to ask how much do you think is fair to pay per hour to those laborers please answer .
