Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria took part in the UAE SWAT challenge in Dubai, which was held from 13 -17 March 2022.

They formed part of the 33 teams from 25 countries that participated within 5 challenge categories that tested each team's global and tactical, weaponry ability and proficiency.

Imagine putting them in a South African criminal syndicate scenario. Where;

- A syndicate has 7-20 fully armed criminals
- Use armour piercing rounds
- At times use RPGs
- Setup multi-man ambushes for responding security forces
- Drive-off the scene using speedy German sport vehicles
- Setup secondary ambushes once they enter the townships


SWAT teams would be sloagheted.

watched a couple of Swat challenges on YouTube...especially the hostage/team member rescue one.... Let's just say if you try that in real life you are losing hostages and team members

No disputes about that FACT.

The issue is the press release.

Press releases, like financial statements, should be as clear and concise as possible. They should answer as many questions as possible and leave room for as few questions as possible.

The direct linking of death by gunshot wounds to a missile/bomb raises more questions than necessary.

It could 100% be an error(nobody is above mistakes) but considering the various censorship it is supposed to pass through before release to the public,that statement/press release should be worded differently

After the el adde attack, KDF fortified its Forward Operating Bases (FOBs). There are about 13 to 20 FOBs that are used to support strategic goals and tactical objectives of the KDf in somalia .

I've said it before but it was just after the attack in 2016 and bears repeating. The coy commander, a Major ignored all entreaties from his 2 i/c and actually allowed an MRAP into their pos. Btw, he was a much feared instructor of cadets at Eldoret AFTC.
A 14 man section in overwatch some 800 m north even called it in to the TOC as soon as it was sighted around 4 am! There was a catalogue of laxity:
- the frontage of almost a km was wayyyyy too large for a mere coy
- there was no protected positions, i.e. dug in individual or sub section sites
Less than 10 mns after being allowed in it blew its 1 ton IED load obliterating the 120 mm mortar section and TOC along with the Major. A second massive VBIED 20 mns immediately later followed by 100s of AS ended all resistance and the KDF suffered its worst day ever with 120 KIA. The AS suffered severe casualties in the uncoordinated defence, at least 60 maybe 100 KIA but weren't to be denied.
