US is steering clear because like Afghan, a new president comes with his own foreign policy. No US troops on foreign soil in a war that is not the US.

Meanwhile, Japan were slapping consecutive rounds of sanctions on Russia, back to back to back. Russia don abandon the peace treaty now, meaning there no hope of getting the island back again and Russia has stopped the free visa to Japanese elements who want to visit the island.

For Putin boys mind it is right for Putin to invade Ukraine as a former ussr even though the war has ended long ago. But to Putin Japan cannot collect back their land after ww2.. The Russian military is large enough so much so that she can even deploy 100,000 men to Ukraine yet still have millions more in Russia however, Putin doesn't consider Ukraine so much as a threat hence his use of mercenaries for the ground invasion to avoid any loses (Russian military personnel).
