Was finally able to change my DS-160 number to reflect what's on my confirmation page.

Did it after sending a mail to ustraveldocs support email. They effected the change within seconds!

I came across this case and thought it would be good to share. I have attached a pdf copy of the case.

It's a relatively long read, but it is helpful. This is a warning against lying on any immigration or visa form. Whatever benefit derived, including citizenship, can be rescinded if they find out.

Summary:

In 2008, an applicant from Ethiopia applied for a K-1 visa as the fiance of a U.S. citizen. He did not disclose he had two children with a woman who was not his fiance in his application. The children were conceived when he was reportedly in a relationship with his fiance. His K1 visa was approved. In 2008, he entered the United States soon after and married his fiance within 90 days based on the terms of the K1 visa. In
2009, he adjusted his status to that of a conditional lawful permanent resident by filing a Form 1-485 and eventually removed those conditions in 2011 by filing a Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. He did not disclose these children on either of these forms.

In 2012, the Applicant divorced his K-1 visa petitioner. Approximately one month later, he married the mother of his two children, filing a Form 1-130 to bring her and his children to the United States. In November 2013, the USCIS interviewed the Applicant in connection with this Form 1-130. During this interview, USCIS discovered he did not disclose his children on his prior immigration applications. As a result, in 2014, USCIS issued a notice of intent to rescind permanent residence, and in response, the Applicant requested a hearing before an immigration judge. In June 2016, the immigration judge rescinded his lawful permanent residence.

In trying to remedy the situation, the Applicant and the mother of his children divorced the same year. One month later, the Applicant married the mother of his third child, she filed a Form 1-130, Petition for Alien Relative on his behalf, and he filed a Form 1-485 to adjust his status based on this relationship.

Of course, the new petition was not approved, and he lost all his appeals in court.

So please, it is important to be truthful and honest in our applications and not commit ANY requested information. Also, don't compound a situation by lying to cover up another lie.

Bros there is nothing wrong. Some of us waited between 8 to 9 months to get NOA2 approval. So you are just 7 months old. Wait till end of April or middle of May before you raise alarm.

My processing center starts with "IOE" (uscis immigration electronic system) which is National Benefits Center at Lee's Summit Missouri and it's way faster bcs the application is been processed online they say

This is the number for NVC you’ll call to obtain the case and invoice id numbers. You’ll need your USCIS case number, the full name of both the applicant and beneficiary and both birthdays in order to receive any information from them. So have that in handy. Some nvc officers will also ask for email address. If you don’t have one on file with them you can update it at this time. You can also request to add an email address to your case. They have an email address you can email to obtain information but their response time to the emails is terrible. You’d have to wait weeks, even months.
Note: if you call them and it’s been 2 weeks or more since your case has been approved with USCIS and they’re still telling you they have not received your case, hang up. Call back again then tell the next person you need to expedite your case due to severe financial loss and you were told you needed your case id number to do so. It’ll be better if the petitioner calls NVC for this information. Remember to get both the case and invoice ID number

It’ll say “At NVC” if NVC is still working on your case. “In Transit” if it is on its way to the consulate. “Ready” once the consulate has received it and this is the time they’d prefer for you to set up your interview. Though they’ll be a slight delay waiting for them. As long as your status changes to ready before your interview date you should be fine.

Here’s the information on how to obtain the police certificate : Applicants need to contact the Deputy Inspector General, Criminal Investigation Department, Nigeria Police Force, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria. The applicant should bring information regarding their full name, place and date of birth, nationality, passport number, date and place of issuance (for current passport or passport used during applicant's stay in Nigeria), exact periods of residence in Nigeria and addresses where applicant resided.

0. You’ll need your original birth certificate and a photo copy for the interview. Also I’d advise getting the declaration of age and having that handy. My uncle said you’ll need that once you migrate here. You can obtain your birth certificate from the local government/hospital you were born in. Make sure the name on the application filed with uscis matches the name on the birth certificate. I don’t know anything about name changes so you might have to make inquiries on your own about name changes. You can obtain the declaration of age at the National Population Commission. 0. For anything that you do throughout this process, I’d suggest having your international passport with you when you go make inquiries or go to these appointments. Get new passport photos. Remember they are only valid if you’ve gotten them done within 6 months and has not passed the 6 months gap. Also, make photocopies and also have the originals of every single document you are taking with you to your interview. People often get confused so let me elaborate on this, the DS-260 is for people filing spousal K3 visa. Their process is different. The K1 visa applicants fill out the DS-160. On the affidavit of support. The I-864 is for k3 visas/family based visas. The I-134 is for K1 visas, b1/b2 visas etc.

Okay good. Mine was IOE too and the same processing centre as yours. My biometrics appointment was on 4th Oct 2021. AOS interview was on 2nd March 2022. Card was mailed on the 9th March 2022.

Your processing actually starts after your biometric processing NOT BEFORE. If your biometrics appointment goes well, your case status will change to "We are currently actively reviewing your case".
