There are over 300 ethnic nationalities in the country who have never had a shot at the presidency so what makes the Ibo special besides an entitlement complex? |

Well done, umu nwa diala anyi na ala yoruba. We have some of them herein like princeoflagos. ![]() I have always known level-headed yorubas like Femi Aribisala and Duro Onabule for many years as pro-Igbo yoruba. Who would say and write the truth during their days at the Sun newspaper even in the face of insults from their fellow yoruba (especially yoruba muslims). These are the only type of yorubas I knew till I stumbled on NL. |

Bastardlyrich:Just smh at this audacious lie in bold and it is an indication that you know next to nothing about the Yoruba . The Yoruba is a majority tribe with over 50 million in population. The Yoruba mostly marry within themselves to the point that most Yoruba fathers and their Yoruba families, till date, find it strange and unusual when you say you can not find your spouse among your fellow Yoruba tribe. It is almost as if their own son/daughter was outcompeted or left behind. It is not mostly out of tribalism but the fact that the Yoruba are huge in population, the most urbanized in Africa and perhaps have the most integrated family system in terms of religion, culture and power systems. Even marrying a foreigner is not as appreciated by most Yoruba parents/families. That is why even Yoruba born and raised outside the shores of Nigeria like Mrs Kemi Adeosun still marry within the tribe. The Indians and Isrealis do it too. Till date, having a non Yoruba mother is not common whether white or black, and it is treated with wow if you tell your fellow Yoruba that you have a non Yoruba mother and such few are mostly from Edo not even the SE. It is not a tribal thing , it is because the Yoruba are just too large enough in number and urbanized for any Yoruba to easily convince his or her parents that the partner is non Yoruba. It just does not sink to parents, it has never and it still does not and that is why they may not object to intertribal marriages but desire that their children marry fellow Yoruba. The largest city in west Africa is a Yoruba city of Ibadan while the most populous , commercial nerve centre and urbanized city of Lagos is a Yoruba city, most top universities are in Yorubaland, headquarters of mncs, companies etc etc. So it seems odd when you say you can not find your spouse in these spaces. Unlike other tribes like Hausa, Fulani, Igbo, there is nothing like christian muslim dichotomy at the family level so whoever you see is a muslim has christian brothers , cousins of even parents. A great example is Asiwaju Tinubu who is a muslim failthful but his wife is a Christian. Same with Mr. BRF etc. Asiwaju Tinubu is the face of the religious tolerance in Yoruba and apart from his positive aura and sterling performance in public offoce, he is the choice of the Yoruba across the dorminant structures of the Yoruba society in Nigeria and diaspora. Like in democracy, the tiny minority will not have their way ![]() Most families have traditional Yoruba religion worshipers too. All those twitter people mostly do not have PVC and that is why whoever wins on twitter loses in real election. |

PrinceOfLagos:See someone that can't make his own independent comments without seeking others approval is talking about being creative. Same person that hardly make any comments without mentioning Tinubu is talking about creativity. Why do you always make use of opposite words of your actions. Imagine this guy that has told numerous lies on this forum but still claiming to have integrity.. How many times have we told you to stop trolling us all in the name of mentioning? A guy that all the photos he has been posting on this forum for 2 years plus have been only in Imo state yet this nigga still impersonating to be a Yoruba. PrinceOfLagos, go and love yourself and restore your lose confident |

Bluntguy:that's why I'll never insult yoruba people. if you watch me I always carefully separate Tinubu urchins from real omoluabis because I know that real omoluabis and igbos flow together. we've been dealing with yorubas for years trading and all sorts of businesses with little or no problem. so I'm not surprised. those causing animosity between yoruba and igbos are Tinubu urchins. they hate the truth and they knew igbos are the only people standing in their way of total colonisation of yoruba land. Tinubu urchins are not real Yorubas but immigrants from futa jalon that settled in southwest. |

Tingotoe:The Igbos are not just any other ethnic nationality, they are with the top three. You're getting it wrong if you're categorising them with just any other ethnic groups. And please, forget this entitlement thing. Who feels more entitled more than the North where political power had been with for long, or the West that enjoys the leverage of Lagos being our only sea port of entry? I hate being sectional, but you guys like pushing someone to that brink. |
