In 2008 my uncle almost lost his children to New Zealand government, after the police gave him last warning should any of his children ever calls emergency number again...He had to relocate them down to Onitsha. Right now they have turned to full time igbo children and behaving very well. |

KanwuliaBaby:Thanks for a quick response. How about for the kids? Do the records parents file against kids show up in their background checks. You might need to calm down on the filing of records against your kids and check with your local police. Thankfully my children are grown, but for others who may want to learn. But I still maintain that its the parenting given to a kid before 12 that establishes character. I guess Canada and US are different. In Canada (at least in my environment), people (including children are a little more chill. From 14 you see children posting on facebook groups offering babysitting, dog-walking, yard clean-up services.)

Shokoloko:Oga u for read the post again, her mum hit her then she tackled her mum to the floor, she push her mum fall then they kponse her, her day beat her for that, I don't think you'll accept that from your child or will you? The bible will not have advised that you spare the rod and spoil the child if it is same thing as bullying the child, some parents go too far yes but then a lot of us would have gone hay wire if not for our tough parents. God bless our parents. |

KanwuliaExtra:This is so heartbreaking, that girl owes her parents great apology and forgiveness, hence it will haunt her for life especially when she starts having children of her own. That aspect of parenting is what i detest about western culture |

All of u praising the western world to high heavens, just shows how shallow and your level of inferiority complex. -who says people don't steal parcels in abroad. -who says there are no car jackers in abroad. -if that ur heaven is that safe, why do people have to buy guns then -go to any Walmart n u'll see a list of missing persons pasted on the front of the store, mostly minors -westerners are amazed that we have what is called OMUGWU where u have someone help u out when u have a baby, not in their culture -mind ur business is causing depression n loneliness abroad, neighbors don't talk to each other ETC. naija get issues, but my dear we still have our humanity. overall we are better human beings compared to the whites. enough of this kolomentality. |

Shokoloko:The fact that you related it to Africans is my problem with you. African kids are the most trained and upright kid in the whole world and thats because of how morals and home training. Since you mentioned Africa, I will ask you, Are European or American kids better than African Kids? Its a "NO" Stop accusing Africans out of low self esteem. Africans are learners compared to the Western kids. A 15 year old boy/girl in Africa is a learner to his counterpart in UK or USA. Its as easy as ABC to go astray in same western countries cos of this same "spare the rod" mentality. |

KanwuliaBaby:Sorry to fault you, but your behavior, maturity and attitude goes a long way to determine whether your children will respect and listen to you. From your writups here its already clear to me that you're very erratic and full of drama. Before blaming your kids, question your own attitude. |

Shokoloko:I find these points of yours ridiculous. Have you heard of the USA and its crime rate? Even shocking ones you will never hear of in Africa. Tell me again if your points hold water. The truth is that no method of raising a child is absolutely perfect either you avoid flogging or you do this. |

KanwuliaExtra:most of this kids are traumatized by the AMERICAN experience. the level of hate and bullying and racism these innocent kids face on a daily basis right from infancy is scary, mostly in school. can u imagine where a 3 year old faces racism from everyone around him/her, even from so called adults- the teachers. and who do they blame for this, the parents that yanked them from their normal existence in Africa n dumped them in the abroad, all in the name of greener pastures. sadly we don't seem to realize this PANDEMIC going on in the African community. i have taught in the American school system, it's heart wrenching the way African kids are treated in American schools. i faced my own dose of bullying, racism and passive aggression, even as a teacher, an adult. then u can imagine what these little ones go through. |

oilmane:My God will richly bless u. Just take a look at this generation, the decay is so disgusting, I'm a proud product of wat u stated; infact my mum was really strict on me cos I was so head strong but whenever I look back I bless her soul for the upbringing, in my tribute to her during her funeral, I promised to raise my kids with same values I was raised. |

Shokoloko:Pls read very well. It said the mother hit the child, then the child tackles and beats the mother. The husband can't take that shit so he puts the child down and beat her very well after which the child calls police to arrest the father........... |

KanwuliaExtra:That was unfair and unnecessary exposure to harm. Why dehumanise your own daughter? What if she developed pneumonia or got raped that is how she would have turned to a street girl. Parents raising their children fails to understand these children are peer pressured in schools and the environmemt they find themselves. All you needed to do was have a heart to heart talk with her not master/slave relationship most Nigerian parents have with their children.Africans parents only thrive in destroying their erring children not correct them in love and kindness. I will never treat my daughter like that. |

Shokoloko:It is in USA you hear of crazy crime conducted by teens in high school. Have you heard any Nigerian school where a teenager walks into the school and starts shooting at fellow students? Nigerians are quick to appreciate whatever will see over there without also looking at the bad side of whatever they practice. Both systems are not perfect. |
