As with all things entertainment; "art imitates life". Some movies can give you 100% realism.

Those his murders was stupid, most especially when his own wife accuses him of such. He doesn't need a private detective trailing his as$ before the feds take his case seriously.
I was thinking the movie was hinging on the plot that he's an influential person with government ties given the fact that he's a creator of a top grade military equipment. So maybe his murders are papered down and not looked into cos of that influence but the movie didn't explain that or gave reasons why his murders hardly raise suspicion to local authorities.

If you calm down and try to list plot holes of that movie you'd see it's numerous and shït. Na great acting and Ana De Armas just keep that movie relevant.

But for why superhero movies and many recent blockbusters don't win Oscars...a simple google search will show you so many articles...
The truth is they aren't winning cos they don't deserve them...

There's a lot of controversy and bias about the Oscars but one thing that has remained consistent is that major awards don't go to movies that are merely "popcorn movies"

Umm, to correct your assumption, blockbusters STILL DO win major awards.

Joker, Toy Story 4, Soul, Encanto, DUNE, West Side Story are all recent blockbusters with Oscars wins.

Also if you're familiar with Hollywood trends you'd know there are certain type of movies that a geared towards awards night and critical acclaim. These movies are counter programmed against blockbusters with little budgetary costs or concerns.

Of course superhero movies have some bias from Oscars voters note voting favourably for such films cos of its background. This is a huge reason why a masterpiece movie like The Dark Knight wasn't nominated for Oscar Best Picture that year. Instead it only got the award for best supporting actor. It would have probably won best picture that year.
People mainly crying are sentimental No Way Home fans who feels the greatness of the film deserved a major Oscar nomination.

The Dark Knight, Big Hero Six, Into The Spiderverse, Black Panther, Joker has won major awards despite being a Supes movie.
In the TV department, Watchmen has shown what a superhero adaptation can be. Adapting one of the best storyline ever in a bestselling graphic novel, that TV series cleaned up all the Emmy awards it could get it's hands on.
That's why I smirk when I see people making stupid comments like DC is shït.

And I assure you The Batman will definitely get an Oscar push come next year Oscars. That I can bet.

Dark Knight and Joker definitely are the sort of Superhero movies that stand out from the normal unserious popcorn superhero movies

One of the reasons DC sweep awards over Marvel imo is maturity...DC movies are a more mature take compared to Marvel movies which are more focused on keeping the PG_13 market...while DC movies have a more serious tone, Marvel movies are more light hearted...

And yes superheroes don't always mean trash but imo the genre is limited by it's nature...
For example my best superhero series is The Boys...
It is a satire and also presents a more realistic view of a world where superheroes are accepted in the society...
Although imo if they existed they won't be accepted
But The Boys actually shows them for what they are...they aren't perfect two good shoes characters...they have many flaws, they have actual goals aside being just stereotypes who exist just to save people

Well you might think the "world has gone mad" but Disney, a billion dollar company which probably has one of the keys to the entertainment kingdom currently, knows what we rake in more money for them and if incorporating LGBT content into thier media does it, they wouldn't hesitate to do that, they are literally even killing two bird with one stone that being, making ridiculous income and satisfying a "woke" world.

And This narrative about "they are forcing LGBT content down our throat" doesn't fly with me, cuz you can literally avoid their content. The premium SIMPING that's why I keep using the movie as primary reference point to Will's behaviour. Just kinda funny I watched that movie 2 days before Smith's shitfest.
If you closely look at the story you'll see its weakness all through. The great acting and Ana De Armas tits was just engaging enough to paper the cracks.

What even surprised me, the cops couldn't even get autopsy report and forensics showing strangulation as cause of death. No traces of fingerprints or anything. Werey even pretended to burn his fingers in the pan, from there I thought the movie will explore how he will explain himself if that strangulation argument was brought forward.

I swear. Dumb sloppy kills. I even thought dude was a genius, showing the way he kills them showed no evidence of calculating brilliance. You kill person, you put stone for him chest. No be to make the person sink to the bottom of the river? Mumu kept the body and had to go back to do clean-ups. Dumb move.

The movies mostly adapt old ones with changes...
