It will be safer to do so if you're a dual citizen...

It will be faster if you're gonna be doing so in an embassy or court outside the zoo zone...

I wish I could edit mine legally to another country like sychelles or the likes.

By just being a Nigerian alone (not necessarily African), one is effortlessly at a disadvantage especially overseas...

You all created a mess in 2015 and now you are thinking of renouncing your citizenship? Some have absconded others are in the process but then who una one leave Nigeria to?

Please forget about it.
Renouncing Nigerian citizenship could be as tortuous, if not more tortuous than surviving the present Nigeria.
It requires the President's signature.

I read of a guy with dual citizenship that tried to renounce his Nigerian citizenship. He wrote a letter to that effect to the Nigerian Embassy in his country of residence packaging his Nigerian passport to the Embassy. The Embassy returned his passport with a letter that "their power no reach to handle the matter" and that the president must be involved.

If you have dual citizenship and successfully renounce Nigerian citizenship, you become only the citizen of the other country. If you have only nigerian citizenship and you successfully renounce it, you become a stateless person.
