To summarise it. DOS is the political wing of IPOB while Simon Ekpa heads the Military wing. Simon Ekpa is the Head of ESN and controls the firepower.

This is the same structure Hezbollah and Hamas operate. The political wing is in Doha while the Military wing operates on the ground but the leadership location is unknown.

It is not uncommon to have fierce disagreement between the political wing and the Military wing. It enhances negotiations with governments and occupiers alike.

I may not take a fancy at Buhari's clueless regime but proscribing and designating Ipob as a terrorist group is one of the few highlights of his administration.
