charlesemeka85: @bolded... what a lousy childish thing to say. I already told you this dementia-laden fat man child. I have been busy and only showed up right before the first leg in Kumasi and even stayed away since the day of the first leg in Kumasi until now. I didn't even show up after that game in Ghana. You don't expect me to be here like you all the time. We very much don't exist on same schedule planets. U get that? And no true Super Eagles fan will buy the nonsense you are trying to sell that Amuneke actually had his way with this team from tactical standpoints when all we saw play out in the two games were totally tactical imprints of Eguavoen. So it is you who sentiment have eaten up so bad that it affects one of your hemispheres so much that you might be in need of an hemispherectomy. So Charles The fat... get help. 2 Likes 1 Share

Rubbish. Idiotic assumption. On Naijafootballers platform, I have a quote ascribed solely to me. I said, "Even if Eguavoen bags us the ticket in Abuja, I suggest he be removed to continue with his TD role at the NFF while Amuneke and Salisu handle the team" Those were my words and I was never gonna give credits for qualification to Amuneke. I never was satisfied with Eguavoen’s tactical approach so much that even if he had qualified, I would not be comfortable with him taking us to the Mundial. So say something else. charlesemeka85: 1 Like 1 Share |

COOL10:I don't need to. I remember you faintly saying something "Few coaches know how to use him" and "some will be saying who is Iheanacho that...blah blah blah" Well, unfortunately for Iheanacho he has played under at least 5 coaches since Pellegrini and he didn't shine. So it is safe to say he wouldn't shine under the system they play in SE. Although you can help Nigeria by either stepping up to the job or hiring the coach that will know how to use him. Because for as long as he has coaches that "don't know how to use him" he will flop as a striker. |

andrewbaba44:later them go Dey form they sabi football and want the best for the super eagles The biggest mistake was sacking rohr and to correct that the nff should go for a foreign coach who will instill a pattern to the team starting with the afcon qualifiers. One who will start afresh by giving deserving players a chance to prove themselves as well as weed out dead woods like musa, ighalo and shehu from the team One who will make out time to scout our players in Europe as well as approach players of dual nationality who re interested in playing for us Few minutes ago I watched madueke against willem 2 and from what I noticed he is miles better than chukwueze. Players like him should be discussed with to see the posibilitu of him changing allegiance to us. Same goes to Lesley ugochukwu of renne, sadiq Aliu a young cb who plays for genk in Belgium, give alhassan Yusuf of royal Antwerp a chance to prove himself in the team and also open talks with udinese’s destiny udogie Whether we like it or not akpoguma still remains the best cb we hv currently in Europe judging by his performance with hoffenheim this season Also to scout the local league intensively for goal keepers who will fight for shirt with the duo of maduka and okoye 1 Like |

You call Rohr low budget?? How much were we even paying that Journeyman again? Low budget?? Yet you are still gonna get another "budget euro Journeyman" not so? I will only be okay if the foreigner is of good quality tactical wise and management wise. Chikena. And you were in the party that supported that we stood by the same 11 that beat Egypt despite my pointing out a huge flaw in that system that was bound to manifest sooner than later. The result is our Afcon ouster and now our losing the WC Ticket. While everyone else was blaming Okoye for that blunder or Ndidi for this or Aribo for that or even sadiq for missing a chance.... my own main grouse was with the tactical problem we were having as a team. The Egu problem. That was the reason we failed at the afcon. He didn't know how to set up a midfield that relieved his wings of so much creative burden. Na una wey no dey learn anything. Shishi una no dey learn. JohnBullMySon: 1 Like 1 Share |

TheSuperNerd: TSN, While I appreciate your comment on Amuneke I still do not think he would make much of a difference TBH. He was part of the the Eguavon team we all saw and besides I still do not believe we have the personnel to become a complete ball playing/possession team. We don't have attacking midfielders, we don't have ball holding midfielders, we don't have wingers who can cross the ball efficiently. However we have potent attackers, we have strong DMFs and we have fast full-backs and wing attackers. This seems more of a recipe for a defensive/counter attacking team or a team that plays direct attacking football. And to be fair to this analysis, we have had the best performances in recent times playing this kind of football under Rohr vs Ukraine, Argentina (friendlies), vs Brazil and even vs Algeria and Cameroun (WC2018 qualifiers) Rohr was a very good coach who knew how to play to our strength and weakness. He would never commit Simon who can't cross the ball to the free-wing role. He would prefer a defensive approach where the abundance of DMFs shield the defence against long range shots like that of Partey because we didn't have quality goal keepers. This was how he won us bronze at Afcon 2018 despite having a jittery Akpeyi at the goal post. Now while I support the sacking of Rohr because he was too conservative, I think a coach like Peserio (not Amuneke or Eguavon) would have done better at the Afcon and qualifier against Ghana if his appointment had fell through. He (Peserio) appeared to be an attacking coach but I saw that he switched to a back 5 formation when he coached Venezuela because of the personal he had. The ideal coach for the SE going forward needs to be able to play to our strength and pick a formation that suits the personnel at hand and not the types that bend easily to the fans' or NFFs' wishes at the detriment of performances. No local coach (Amuneke inclusive) presently fits that bill IMHO. 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd:We are on the same side then. BTW I was not among any group that said that we should stand by the same eleven. In fact, I criticized AE here when said that he had his first eleven already. I'm of the opinion that we get a coach who assists a big 5 league team manager or is coaching a upper half Championship level team. The manager can then balance the two jobs. It's been done before. Infact, the super falcons are doing something like that now. 1 Like |

I wonder how no one is talking about the inability of our boys to hit long range shots from outside the 18yard box. The last SE midfielder who could do this were John Ogu. I miss his powerful pack of shots. Ndidi is to Nigeria what Partey is to Ghana (both the only world class players in the teams) but while Partey is able to carry Ghana forward at decisive games Ndidi doesn't. He (Ndidi) needs to re-learn how to take those shots. 3 Likes |

Eguavoen's missteps has inadvertently blocked the door to local coaches in the SE for a very long while. It is better some of these talented local coaches take up jobs overseas to further build their expertise and profiles so that it becomes easier to get the job in the future. Even the Sports Minister would find it hard to insist on hiring a local coach given the recent happenings. I sincerely hope we get it right this time around. 4 Likes 1 Share |

"Pick a formation that suits the personnel at hand" You mean, keep calling up only DMFs and find a formation that suits only the use of DMFs abi? Looollll What happens then if we need a tactical switch in the middle to break down a tactical roadblock that counters the use of "just DMFs". Do you not think that Rohr and Eguavoen tried that already? Trying to play with the personnel at hand? It even worked for Egu vs Egypt but like I already explained, it is because Quieroz and co didn't know exactly what to expect from us. It was Eguavoen's first game. Our midfield would keep looking ordinary and laboriously eye sore unless we address the need for better tactical balance in our Middle game. We need proper ball players and conductors who will sync with our DMF warriors and workrate merchants to give us a midfield that can adjust and cope with almost any tactical hegemon we would face. What we should thrive to do is address our midfield ball playing deficiency because that is the key to unlocking the true powers and potentials of the attacking fire power we boast through the Middle in the CF role and from the wings. Ndidi tried it at the Afcon and was shockingly wack at them. It is a disturbing sight especially as this is the same Ndidi that hit stunners almost like clockwork while in Belgium and in the early yrs of his Leicester career. I mentioned this same issue on Naijafootballers special Platform. I said Ndidi is still the best we have at DM but he seems to have lost how to hit a ball from the top of the box or from outside the box. It is frustrating. So frustrating because his ball playing skills are not elite at all so why reduce a part of your game that makes you such a force from deep? I hope he gets it back. Beloved03: 3 Likes 1 Share |
