Russia can never be trusted to keep its word, not when Putin is going round saying Ukraine is not a real country. Putin either wants to absorb Ukraine into a new Soviet empire, or at the very least install a vassal regime in Kyiv, which basically amounts to the same thing.

The only guarantee of safety Ukraine has is joining NATO.

They justified the attack!
