You did a good job for your client since that is what he/she wanted and is satisfied with.... I am sure the issue your contact that criticized had is with the colour tone and clumsiness of the design.
Customer satisfaction is the most important thing my brother which you have already achieved.

Given the purpose, I think the color has to be catchy and that is very important if it's going to be used as flyer.
Just a look, I got 1. Name of the business and location
2. Purpose = Admission
3. Category = creche etc

If it were to be corporate, maybe the colors might have to be more composite with abstract background

well I can't argue with u, u are right, every Designer is unique.
to me the color are too bright, too whitish assuming it is something more cooler and warm to the eyes..
sometimes clients can be frustrating...

To me, there's nothing wrong in this design considering you've achieved what the client want. Most physical client like something like this, they always want catchy colours and the design busy with lots of info.. I have work with most of them, especially the illiterate ones.

some clients speaks in parables, they don't know what they want.
they are just confused..

What class of designer do you belong?
The Beginner, Amateur, intermediate or professional?

Where you belong will determine how you see criticism, and how you see your designs.

Graphics design is more than just texts and photos, as designer your duty is to solve problem for your clients.

Don't fall for the "What client want" gimmicks, your clients are graphics-illiterates with graphics problems. They may tell you want they want, it's your duty as a designer to give them WHAT IS BEST for them base on your professional level.

You don't dictate to your doctor on what treatment to give you, he knows what's best for you.

If your client becomes Adamant, it's expected you turn down the offer, than do a crappy job that will ruin your reputation.

It is a very poor design.
Read on the principles of graphic design and redesign. Don't fall for the cheap bait of mediocrity.
