This colour means what exactly please..... Traffic congestion or density of orders?
It's a surge map - where huge crowd of orders await drivers. Yeah, density of orders.

I'm not sure if the "allow new request" features on bolt works like it does on Uber... Many a time I've tried it yet I still get incoming request. You can give it a try to see if it works otherwise accept all incoming requests even if you're on a ride or about to conclude a ride but make sure you check the request details very well before you accept it so you can decide weather you'll go on thw trip or not.

Now, if after accepting the trip and you'd like to go on the trip tell the rider to be patient that you'll be there in a gefee otherwise tell them your current rider is still riding.

This Bolt DS won't stand the test of time because it's only a matter of time b4 they block 45% of their drivers and this will give space for Uber and indriver to take the market from them.
One brother here told me what to do and it is working. New orders don't come in until I am totally done with the active riders.
And yes, boss, the driver's score no go well with this bolt, na when I entered the hustle I totally understand you bosses anytime you make criticism.
Person wey never enter am no go understand you people here.
But all is well sha.
Much respect, boss.

okay. But how will bolt know? Or you will lay complaint to them?

I would have opted for it but it's going to be a huge disappointment for the person that gave me his car, I don't like breaching agreement like that, not when the person considered a lot for me.
Chai!
It is well, bro.
did you also start off as a newbie when you got the current car you are using?

Thanks for this insight.

I like your progress these few days into the biz. I'm a newbie too.

As per the daily settlement of Bolt's debt, paying daily might be a burden and sometimes you may be stressed. So I suggest you make it weekly or you can even pay ahead on days you know you'll hit the road full time

Thanks, bosses. Much respect.

You can still get your balance from Bolt. Click on the trip and report to bolt. Make sure you explain how the rider scammed you cos you’re newbie. They should compensate you with the balance

You can tell me the engine is bad, am a man, I can take the reality quite well. Lol. You mentioned quite a number of things I might have to look into, like: the water pump. However, from the inside, the radiator fins look pressed together but I don't know how bad it is. Another thing I am considering is the radiator cap; it doesn't feel like it's holding pressure.

It is well brov...
Maybe u should change the cap or the whole radiator n fill with original coolant. Then make sure the fan is blowing at full speed.
If the water is drying up in the radiator, it's either evaporating or leaking.

Corolla is just a breathe of fresh air. Now I see why it is very popular in this country. It’s been 6 months since I got my Corolla and apart from going for servicing once in awhile I’ve not had any reason to visit any mechanic despite my rough handling. cheesy

Wetin my Honda Accord use my eye see last year till I sold it. God forbid!

Bosses in the house, I need you oh.
This trip showed 4,100 on my driver app, but it showed 3,600 on the rider's app with my details on it, abeg how do I resolve this and what could have been the issue?
I had to collect the 3,600 from the rider like that cos I had a request who was waiting for me to avoid cancelation.
Happens once in awhile. If the rider refuses to pay the price on your phone you either switch to felicity mode & collect your complete money or be a gentleman and report the trip to bolt as rider refused to pay. Either way, you’ll get your money.

Ps: Don’t be in a hurry to accept the next trip because of cancellation. Take your time and conclude your current trip. If the mf rider cancels NOTHING will happen to your rating. If not UCHE go use you dey play ludo because you’ll always be on the move.

Then I'm afraid, you haven't washed the radiator. Ask around for them " agbede" /blacksmith. They will unmount the radiator, open up the cover. Car wash folks don't do this, they only blow the exterior. I doubt it's a water pump issue.
Depending on area and your bargaining skills 2.5 - 4k should fix it.

There are tens of internal fins within the radiator, they will use a long strip of metal to dislodge sludge and mud particles blocking the fins (then, they will use water to thoroughly rinse individual fins. Making sure there are no clogged mud and debris within the fins. Insist they wash it thoroughly. Do this and the overheating issue when climbing the hill will stop. I have experienced this when I was driving a Nissan primera.

Car wash will only blow the exterior. The real workings of the radiator are the internal fins.

Thanks. This is quite helpful but where can I get these guys? My location is igando not sure if any is around my area.

And this my dear, is UBER/BOLT 101

peeps4u:

Having a car of your own, you're about 80% ready.

Go for inspection at accredited bolt and uber centres.
Get your road worthiness ready.
Register online with uber and bolt and updatr all necessary docs as requested.

Once your account(s) is/are ready;
1. Avoid one way; always ask people around to be sure of one way if you observe cars are parked facing a particular direction on a road or cars are only coming from a direction.

2. Make it a habit to ask your rider if he/she has a preferred route or you follow a Gmap before starting your trip, dont be shy to say you're a newbie, it saves you from stress as long as the rider agrees you use the Gmap, he has technically agreed to the fare after the trip, there will be no issue like "driver dubiously takes me through a long route to increase fare".

3. To be on a safe side, if you take an airport trip, don't bother to take any trip back from airport, leave as soon as you drop your rider, even if your car is giving funny sound, leave the airport premises before you stop. There are airport WANDERERS who will arrest you if you wait a second. Once you leave airport, you can always drive into Ikeja GRA and wait for trips (that is my most peaceful area to park in ikeja, no Lastma harassment). If you want to pick trips from airport, go to park and pay for parking while waiting for trips.

4. You dont need to be unnecessarily chatty with riders, be as professional and accomodating as you can. Simple "good afternoon/morning/evening" when rider steps in is okay and face your steering. Don't fight it if rider replies or not. However, you may cancel the trip if your intuition says so. You may also bid a rider a good bye with "thanks and have a nice day/night" if you want. These things are naturally my habits though

5. Don't asslick rider's ass because you're looking for mysterious helpers through uber, that might make you work like goats for no pay because of help expectation from riders.
what will be will be.

6. Dress well and be neat to command respect and even boosts your self esteem and confidence that you wont be afraid to confront any rider or shy to enter any environment with your dressing. Not necessarily, but I'm always on pairs of jeans/chinos with shirts/vest and shoes (simple), you can't catch me looking dirty/unkempt and riders don't address me anyhow.

7. Eat well and take care of yourself.

8. Be careful of bank transfer payment, insist on card or cash, if you're to accept bank transfer, before accepting, tell the rider he/she will not leave the car until you get your credit alert. Also, you may use your discretion here as to let the rider leave or not.

9. If uber still does 3% commission after 20 trips or so, Ikeja GRA at evening/night is one of the places to get quick/successive short trips to quickly increase number of trips.

You will learn more on the job.

Ogas patapata will add or substract to/from what I've said so far

Good luck.

Yeah, I started off as a newbie. It really took the person that gave me the car some COURAGE and LET ME GIVE YOU A TRY before he could hand over the car to me, cos they all prefer an experienced Uber/bolt driver.

This is around the time when the expenses start coming. Hope you're ready for them.

I bought a Matrix October last year Toks. Between October and March, the only thing I changed asides cabin air filter was the horn

This month, I've spent 35k fixing one thing or the other. So brace up, it's coming

It's always advisable for all to do this 2wice in a year.... especially if you use water or substandard coolant in your radiator....

I am sure this will fix the overheating issue the guy is experiencing....the job self no Pass 1hr job...them go even show u the dirt blocking the fins if you are there when they are cleaning it

Haha. Baba. Agbede dey that side now... (take a bike to where they are selling spare parts around igando, look for where they fix broken headlamps and taillights, ask for agbede there,

Try what I told you first. The water is supposed to circulate freely within the internal fins. Once 3 or 4 of the fins are blocked. Water won't circulate freely, making water to quickly evaporate from the radiator

You have to be there in person to see it yourself, I'm sure some of the radiator fins are clogged.
