Episode 1

He checked the teller, flipping pages continuesly as many thoughts crossed his mind.

He was holding a managerial post and also in charge of giving monthly account to the accountant.

He was a marketing manager in a big film.
He has been holding in for too long and acting all Christ like as he was supposed to do but almost all his mates are driving cars, many have built their own house. Many of them take their families on a vacations abroad.
Why should his own case be different? Nobody notice all his sacrifice, all his hard work and all his good deeds.
Nobody notices any of that or even gives him a promotion like he deserves.

Every of his good deeds goes unnoticed.
He depends on his salary.
Although the pay was fair but never enough for him and his family.
For how long will he continue that way.

Kunle just bought a car last month. A brand new car.
It surprises him greatly because kunle is also a marketing manager in another branch of the same company just like him.
They collect the same amount of monthly salary and the little allowance that comes once in a while.
So how was kunle able to buy a car with his pay or does he have other personal business that he’s not aware of?
He doubt greatly because kunle spend extravagantly.
He will always tell him anytime they meet.

“Mayowa chop life…enjoy to the fullest because life doesn’t have a duplicate”

He has asked him twice
” With the way you spend more on drinks and food, how will you be able to cope if your salary finishes up..?

“Who’s
depending on salary…?
He retorted while filling his mouth with roasted chicken.
…how much is my salary that I will depend on? Is not even up to what I spend in two weeks…let me say in a week I spend almost all my salary. the salary is nothing jare….
Mayowa was quiet, he thought of other ways that kunle maybe making money.

He asked him one day.

“What other work do you do aside this one kunle?

” This is the only work I do. Anytime you are ready mayowa I will show you the way… If you continue to depend on salary you will just die as a poor church rat.

Mayowa was curious as he never gets to meet kunle again.

The next news he heard was that kunle has bought a brand new car.

It just dawn on him that kunle maybe be doing some underground dirty Job.

As much as he doesn’t want to know, another part of him was eager to know.

Kunle will be willing to tell him everything because he will want somebody on same lane as him.

Mayowa picked up his phone and called Kunle.
After their normal exchange of pleasantries he opened up to him the reason why he called.
Kunle laughed out loud, mayowa told him that it wasn’t a laughing matter, he was serious and really wants to know the secret behind his lavishing lifestyle.

Kunle asked mayowa to meet him the following day at the usual expensive spot where he goes to hang out.

They sat opposite each other with their drinks the next day.
Kunle explained to mayowa the secret to his lavish lifestyle and why he doesn’t depends on his salary.
Mayowa knew kunle was doing something unrightful to get money but he never knew is far more than unrightful is all shed of trouble.

“What if I get caught in the process…

He asked an unbothered kunle who explained to him that he can’t get caught.

“All you need to do is to work smart…

Kunle gave simple explanation on how he does it, just for mayowa to follow suit.

Mayowa went home that day feeling down.
Even when his wife asked him what was the problem he refused to say.
Instead he dismissed her questions with having a stressful day.
He either have to follow kunle and be stealing the company fund or he sticks to his monthly pay which was nothing to get by.

PEARLS ON SWINE
Episode 2.

As he flipped through the pages, his heart beat was racing with speed.
He looked around his office it was as if the office cabinets, the files, television and some other items in the office was staring back at him.

He wanted to follow exactly how Kunle explained it.
It appears simple with the way he said it but trying to do it now feels so heavy and guilt striken.

All he needed to do was to tear off the invoice number that has the highest amount.
Replace it with another invoice that has same number but with a smaller amount.

He can aswell leave it that way after tearing it off and if the accountant or auditors notice and ask about it then he will either lie that it got torn off in the process of field work.
He can lie about anything and they will believe him because he is trustworthy and also a manager.
But any invoice he must tear off must be a very huge amount that is far more than his salary or like his salary.
And those bigger companies that is their sole customer buys things in bulk and pays with cheque instead of directly to the company’s account.
He can ask them to write the cheque in his name and it will be written or he can do it like Kunle did.
Open a bank account with their company’s name and most of the companies customers will be paying into the fake account thinking is the real one.

The
given cheque may take days to clear but that is not a problem, he will always find a way to cover up any track that will trace down to him.
Mayowa looked at the invoice continuesly.
He couldn’t summons the courage to do it.
He stood and walked round the office trying to muster courage.
A Bible lying on one side of his table with other books pilled up on top of it caught his eyes.

He felt like God was looking down at him.
Mayowa moved back to his table and took the Bible.

He didn’t know what to do or which particular verse to open up.
He was yet to decide on what to do with the huge amount of invoice waiting for him to take action.

He deserves a better life, enjoyment with his wife and two kids.
He deserves to take his family on a vacation.
He deserves a brand new car like Kunle.
He deserves every good thing of life.

There is a saying that if you can’t beat them you join them.

Joining them has suddenly proven difficult.
Maybe he should go home, sleep over it and gather More courage to return back and do the only thing that will transform his life for good.

Mayowa, after work went home. All he thought of through out the time at home was just the invoice
His wife asked him what was troubling him but he refused to say.
“Nothing serious, just a hectic day.
He replied again.

He kept battling in his mind not knowing what exactly to do.
He has waited for promotion for a very long time but that was not forthcoming.
His salary can’t cover majority of his expenses.
Joining Kunle to make money in an illegal way maybe an answer to his financial freedom.

He was tired of being nice and churchy guy. It hasn’t done much good for him in anyway.
His mind is made up, he was going to tear off the invoices that has largest amount and find a means to cover up his track.

He woke up early the next morning, got dressed and left for the office again.

He went into his office and saw the invoice, Mayowa quickly grabbed it

His phone rang, announcement for the office morning prayer and management meeting.
He didn’t move immediately, after ten minutes a reminder came again concerning the devotion.
Mayowa has forgotten that he usually pray in his office before going for general prayer.
He was mostly the first person that arrives for the prayer before other staffs start showing up.
And now, he had to be reminded first. The main thing occupying his mind was how to overcome the guilt and Carry out the mission he has in mind.
Until then, he will continue to battle it.

Mayowa
got ready and left for the devotion. Almost everyone was gathered in the staff room.
He was mostly the one they calls to pray after a worship song, after one or two songs.
He was always happy to lead the morning prayer.
But now, Mayowa was hoping that he won’t be called upon to pray.
Ever since the issue of making extra money start occupying his mind, the last thing he wants to do is to pray or talk to God.
He already know what God will say but he doesn’t care anymore.

He was part of the workers in the church.
He was among the men that sit beside the main pastor in church.
He was also believed to be a strong Minister and is mostly a great privilege to stand on the pulpit to minister to the congregation.
Him and his wife are well recognized in church and as couples who believes in God so much.
He was respected and sometimes takes bible study classes, his wife also officiate in church.

All his labour in the vineyard, which is the church of God has never yielded any fruit.
His expenses kept increasing, yet there’s no enough money to curtail it. He was living from hand to mouth like church rat.
Perhaps, if he can follow Kunle’s trend of making money and do what he has to do so that his story will change for good.
He will command more respect.

As the worship song was over, as usual Mayowa was supposed to pray but as the other staffs looked up to him to do so, he called another staff to do the prayer instead.
No one understands his reasons for not wanting to pray but they respected his decision as another person handled the prayer.
After the prayer they went for the management meeting, one or two things were discussed.
Mayowa didn’t have much to contribute but he rather nodded to what every other person said in the board room.
When he was asked to contribute, he told them that he has nothing to contribute rather he agrees with what every ones said.
Mayowa patient was running out, he couldn’t wait for the meeting to come to an end do that he can go and continue what he started.
The only thing occupying every of his mind.

Finally, the meeting was over and everyone went back to their offices.

Mayowa retuned to his office and the invoices were there to greet him.
He has concluded in his mind and knew it was now or never.

PEARLS ON SWINE
Episode 3.

His phone rang, he picked up.

“Good morning brother Mayowa, Calvary greetings to you… please will you be available today for midweek prayer. I will love you to officiate it…”

It was from his pastor.
Mayowa bite his lips angrily. Not now, not today that he was two minutes away from becoming rich.

“I’m sorry pastor, I have emergency office meeting after work and will be closing very late.
Mayowa lied but the pastor did not drop the call like he expected.

“Brother Mayowa, please I’m counting on you. I felt the Lord wants you to officiate it. Turning it down is like saying no to the Lord but if you can’t officiate then try and come. If truly God sent me to you to request for your presence in the midweek prayer, God will make away for you to be there. Our God is not a confusionist, he is always ahead and on time. Have a glorious day brother Mayowa. God bless you as you honor today’s Church program…

The last line of sentence from the pastor got Mayowa.
Does it mean if he does not attend God won’t bless him.
How will a pastor be trying to bribe him with God’s blessings so that he can come for a midweek prayer.
Mayowa was pissed, he began to think about other things the pastor has done in the past that he was supposed to be angry but he overlooked instead.

He wanted to have something he can hang on to hate both the pastor and the entire church.
He became uncomfortable in his seat as sweat suddenly broke out on his forehead.

“Why now…why when I’m about to finalise the plan…why did he call to make me uncomfortable…?

Mayowa went round in his office lamenting.
He decided to pack up the invoices. He will attend the church very late.
It will seem he decided to honor the pastor’s invitation.
He will attend when they are about to close the service.
But unfailing tomorrow, he will finalise his plans. Doing what he was supposed to do long time ago.

If
it was before, he doesn’t need to be reminded of midweek service.
Is only on a rare occasion that he missed it and will call his wife to take the kids to church if she’s free.
He always prepare his message ahead for each service and emergency church meeting.
He loved God, he preached with passion. He tells the congregation the truth about God.
He was diligent in all his dealing but unfortunately he has never moved forward

well, so he thought.
He remains stagnant. No increment in finance, no promotions, no breakthrough. Nothing at all.
Just himself and his poor salary that he was beginning to hate with passion.

Mayowa frowned as more ill thought crowded his mind

He couldn’t do much of the office work that day.
After the day work comes to an end, mayowa remained in his office.
He waited until the security started locking the office doors, he later stood and left.

Since he doesn’t have a car, ever since his first car spoilt he has been either jumping from bus to bus or taking taxi or bike which is motorcycle.

He was tired of that too and this is one of the reasons he was desperate for a change. He deserves a brand new car, a very comfortable life that he does not have to worry over every dime he spend.

Mayowa stood at the bustop for long, waving off buses.
He checked the time and wondered why it was too slow today.
He waited a little more before joining the bus, he was taking his time and wasn’t in a haste.
His wife called him to know why he is yet to come for the midweek prayer which she was presently seated and listening to the pastor’s teaching.
Mayowa told his wife that he closed very late and since he doesn’t have a car he has to Join the public bus and there was traffic too.
He lied again and felt guilty lying to his loving, caring and prayerful wife.

Mayowa finally arrived the church, he frowned as he heard them still studying. He thought they were supposed to be rounding up by the time he arrives.

He joined them and was grateful when the study came to an end.
As the closing time approached he knew he will be asked to give a closing prayer, Mayowa pretend like his phone rang.
He quietly went outside, with pretense to receive call.
He stayed outside listening to when the closing prayer will be said.

“Honey… what are you doing?

He was startled from behind. His wife was standing behind him, looking lost as she saw him relaxing on the wall and looking at nothing in particular.
He wasn’t making any call.

PEARLS ON SWINE.
Episode 4.

“Kiki, I…I.. my MD called from the office. He was checking for some documents and called to know where it was. After explaining to him, he asked me to hold on that he was going to confirm ones he sees it. I don’t want to come inside and start sneaking out again when his call enters my phone…

Mayowa lied again. The lies were coming out more smoothly now
he was getting used to it gradually.
He felt worst with himself as he was getting used to lying and mastering each step.

“By this time of the night that your boss decided to check for documents?

My wife asked suspiciously.
I was thinking of another lie to give her when she finally said

“…Oohkay. I was wondering with the speed you left the church auditorium, I wondered what was the emergency… Alright, I’m going back inside, the service is about to end.

She left him and went back inside.

He felt relieved as his wife went back inside.
Mayowa stayed outside for sometime, it was while the prayer was being said by the pastor he sneak back inside.

The service was later over, they greeted few others, exchange pleasantries before going home.

Kiki knew something wasn’t alright with her husband. For more than a week he has been behaving quietly and hardly speaks his worries out to her anymore.

He was mostly into deep thought and hardly prays like he used to do.

She asked him again that night what was going on but he said he was alright and nothing much was going on.

Kiki
decided to intercede for her husband in prayer.
She stayed awake, reading verses of bible and praying to God.
Mayowa heard his wife reading a certain verse in the Bible, he didn’t pay attention to her at first as he pretend to be asleep.

When he heard her mention that a thief, a liar, murderer, he that covets, an idol worshiper who refused to repent will suffer everlasting condemnation.

Mayowa wish he can ask her to stop disturbing him.
Each verses she read echoes in his heart.
He became scared, he knew that he falls into one or two of those things his wife mentioned.
For three days now, he has not been able to pray. The major thing occupying his thoughts was how to get rich quick.

Mayowa, shut his eyes and tries to pray but no reasonable word was coming out of his mouth.
He decided he was going to speak to his wife who has been his confidant.
He can’t hold it all in anymore.

He waited until everywhere was calm that night, the atmosphere was right for his confession.
He called his wife and confessed every of his battle.

He told her how he almost succeeded in following Kunle’s step to steal, diverting the company’s fund to his own personal use, how he thought of schemes to cover up his tracks after the deeds because he wanted to have every good thing of life. Give his family only the best, travel out of the country and see how the outside world look Iike.

He was only been pushed to do so because of the way his company fails to acknowledge him, despite all his efforts and hard work.
Despite how much sincerity he puts into his work. None of
It was acknowledged.
All of this was his anger and push.

When he saw how Kunle was spending extravagantly he knew something was fishy.
Kunle can’t possibly be spending his salary like that, how much was even The money that he will be throwing carelessly.

After he asked and Kunle told him what he does, different ideas began to run into his mind.
He began to think of how to also get his own secret deal done and covered but his mind has not been at rest.
He has been having a serious mind battle which has restricted him from carrying out everything he intended to do….

After
confessing it all to his dear wife he felt relieved and she was happy that God did not allow her husband to succeed with such evil in his heart.
They knelt and prayed together for the first time in many weeks.

The next day he was happy getting ready for work because his mind was free and his heart pure.

He got to the office late and saw kunle in his branch.
He was coming out of his office.
He asked her what he came for he replied that he came to drop some field receipt as the MD asked him to submit them that morning for cross checking.

Mayowa walked back to his office and realized that his table was scattered.

Pieces of invoices was in the ground.
His heart skipped as he began flipping through his work sheet to make sure nothing was tampered with.

He will be in a serious problem if anything goes wrong with his invoice numbers.

Thanks for the update, the moment an evil thought registered in your mind, don't nuture it else it grows root and branches then takes one away from the relationship he or she enjoys with God, it is well.

PEARLS ON SWINE
Episode 5.

He found out that some of his invoices were missing.
He saw worn out ones in place of where he used to keep his.
He was still checking through and wondering what was going on when the intercom rang.
His boss asked him to also come over to his office with both the new and old used invoice notes.
His boss informed him that the auditor was in his office and they were checking out things together if not the auditor would have come down to his office.

Mayowa gathered what he could lay his hands on and quickly take them to his boss as he was instructed.

After sometimes, his boss called him and he went over again.
They told him that Kunle’s invoice was complete, the other two managers from different branches were also completed except for his own.

They asked to know why his own has missing receipt in almost all of them. And his invoices booklet was yet to be completed.

Mayowa told them he does not know how it got missing.
He suspected kunle because he was the person he saw leaving his office that morning.
the auditor followed him to his office to check for other missing invoices.

On getting there, he asked mayowa to bring out all the invoices he had in his custody and he did.

The auditor saw the worn out invoices that was supposed to be among the ones he brought to the MD’s office but instead he exclude them.
He asked mayowa why the invoice looks so old and why he didn’t include it.

Mayowa
told him that they are not his own and even though some of his invoices that were in his care suddenly went missing he does not have a hand in it. It can’t tell how it happened.
The editor flipped through the worn out booklets and found out that most of the figures were tampered with.
He questioned mayowa about it and he repeated that he knew nothing.

With the way things seem, mayowa can sense that the auditor do not believe him.

And that realization troubles him greatly.

He tried to explain to the account auditor kindly and clearly that he knows nothing of the whole thing.
Everything was well arranged in his office before he went home yesterday and coming to work this morning, he was about 30minutes late due to traffic and distance which was unlike him.
Arriving office this morning he saw a colleague, kunle coming out of his office.

He asked him what was going on but kunle said he only came to check up on him if he was already at work and to also drop invoices that the MD asked him to bring over.

Mayowa told the auditor that when he entered his office, he saw that things were not as he left them yesterday.
His office looks scattered.

He was still trying to put it all in place when the MD called and asked him to submit his invoices.

He said is probably kunle that messed things around his office.

“All of this explanation is not necessary, you will explain to the MD and not to me. I’m here to work with figures presented to me and with what I’m seeing here, is a cause to worry. The MD suspected that something was fishy, when I saw the updated figures in the current statistics it was shorten of several millions and the clear point is that the goods that make up this amount where all sold but where exactly did the money went to…?

Mayowa breathed shakily as he listened to the auditor.
The auditor continued.

“…we asked all the accounts manager, both those dealing with cash and those who don’t. we needed to cross check properly to know where the mistake or theft if there’s any is coming from. I was here three days ago for the same sorting. We didn’t inform anyone earlier, because if we do they may decide to cover up their tracks. It was just I with my team and the MD that decided on these. It was early this morning we asked the account managers to submit their invoices and used booklets with immediate effect and I haven’t really seen any issue with others and even the kunle you mentioned… only with yours although we’re still cross examining everyone. There’s a lot of rewriting, cancellation with tipast in your invoices and account book. Tampering with figures, tearing off receipt numbers which I believe have huge amount in them and making the booklet numbers incomplete. Mr mayowa, you need to follow me back to the MD’s office for further clarification. You have alot to answer to and is not just to me but also the MD. You need to explain all of this…”

Mayowa
was speechless because he knew that he was innocent and never tampered with any invoices or steal any money.
He wanted to, after kunle introduced him to how he makes extra cash aside from his salary. mayowa was tempted to and it was just yesterday that he stepped out of such strong evil thought and promise never to do such after confessing to his wife who made him realize that the fear of God will take him higher than he ever imagined.
He believes so too but resuming office with so much enthusiasm this morning only to be greeted with trouble he knows nothing about. The whole thing scares him.

Getting to the MD’s office, they all started interrogating him over the missing receipt and all the faults found in his invoices.
Mayowa stood strong by telling them that he knows nothing about it.

They looked at him and talked to him like a criminal.
They asked him to return to the office that they are still digging up things which may take days or weeks and ones they concludes on the exact thing going on and the whole marks lead down to him he won’t be spared.
He may even be charged with theft and criminal act which will earn him years of jail terms.
And they won’t fail to applaud and reward any one who had been keeping clean record and dedicated to the given job.

As mayowa went home that day, he was sad and also afraid as he narrated his office ordeals to his wife.
His wife try to encourage him that he shouldn’t be scared because he was innocent and God will vindicate him.

Mayowa couldn’t eat, he was destabilize.
He called kunle that night to ask him what exactly he did in his office that morning but kunle denied doing anything.
Kunle told him that he only went in there to check if he was around and when he didn’t see anybody he walked out.

Mayowa had his doubt. He doesn’t trust or believe kunle.
But kunle strongly denied touching anything in his office.

Mayowa can hopes that just like his wife said he will be out of trouble.

Although looking back at what happened with the auditor and his boss today, he knew trouble was cooking and someone will have to be the scape goat.

PEARLS ON SWINE
Episode 6.

His wife woke him early that morning for prayer.
She prayed with him as they petitioned all that was going on into the Lord’s care.
Asking God to still the troubling water in their lives, especially in Mayowa’s company.

After the prayer he got ready to leave for work.
His wife insisted that he sit for some breakfast since there was still enough time to do that but Mayowa said he can’t.

He doesn’t even have appetite for any food until the whole issue in the office is resolved and he hopes it will be well sorted because he was innocent and have no hand in any of the things they were accusing him off.

His wife did not stop encouraging him as she reminded him that since they have taken it to God, there was nothing to worry over because God was already involved and there is nothing the enemy can do to bring him down.

He nodded and left for work that early morning
He tried to remain strong in faith that nothing will go wrong rather he will be vindicated.

He got to the office that morning, he was among the early comers.
He sat in his office and prayed quietly on his own, asking God to take over the day.

He later went around to inform his other colleagues for morning devotion.
He was the one that led in prayer before going back to start his daily office duty.

His boss later arrived with the auditor and he was called in again as they informed him that they have not been able to sort what was really going on.
But it was all looking fishy and Linking down to him and if at the end they find out that he has been doing some underground work and trying to run down the company while enriching himself then he will carry the cross that comes with it.

All

through that day Mayowa remained hopeful because he was innocent and he knew if they check thoroughly they will see that he was clean.
The torn receipts, the missing invoice booklets and every other implicating items found in his custody was never his making.
Somebody else did it and probably tries to rub it on him for whatever reason best known to the person.

Nothing else was said that day concerning the issue on ground, he was beginning to rejoice in his heart that the whole issue was cooling off.

He knew God will step in for him and prove his innocence to his boss and co worker because he has been a faithful follower in his vineyard.

He has served well and obediently and even his wife too. They were both doing the work of the Lord like they were getting paid for it.
He pays his tithes, he officiate gladly without being asked.
He loved God wholeheartedly and even when he had a great opportunity to Join Kunle to enrich himself he tried all he could but couldn’t go on with the plan until he confessed it all out to his wife.
One of the reasons he couldn’t progress with the plan was because of the fear of God that was in him.
He has rededicated his life after the plot that he couldn’t carry out.

He was not expecting any of the challenges that came up but he was certain that God has stepped in and will not allow him to be put to shame.

A week after, Mayowa was called to report to the conference hall.
His other big colleagues and those in account department from different branches where also present.
Kunle was also there.
Everyone were seated in the conference hall.
The auditor and his team where presently seated with their auditing tools.

His MD start by commending those who have been doing great in their branches.
He applaud the accountants for the great job they are doing in keeping an accurate record with no stain.
He applaud kunle even more for his accuracy in account.
Kunle and one other accountant where awarded some huge amount of money and the latest Toyota Camry each.

They

got lots of applaud as the MD said that every good deed should be rewarded. It will encourage others to sit up in their irrespective field and do better than before.
It will also encourage hardwork and uprightness in every staff.
While on the other hand every one involved in mischief will be served due punishment.
Anyone embezzling company’s fund will be fished out and such person will be put out in public so that other reputable companies will not employ such person in their firm.
And that was when Mayowa’s name was mentioned.
He was asked to stand. His heart was racing as he stood and everyone’s eyes were on him.

His boss began a long speech of how unfaithful he was in his dealing and how he had been secretly embezzling company’s fund and it finally caught up with him.
Mayowa tries to speak but he was asked to keep quiet and not speak a word.
His boss continued on how his used invoice booklets were missing, torn out receipts and other discriminating things that traced down to him.

Some of his colleagues couldn’t believe that Mayowa who appears upright and decent could be the same man standing up for embezzlement and other crimes leveled on him.

It was baffling even to Mayowa who still can’t believe that Kunle was awarded for a good deed while a judgement of wrong doing was about to be passed down to him.

Episode 7

They condemned him like a criminal in the presence of all the people.

He stood there and they refused him saying anything.
Not even to defend himself.

But after they all finished talking and disgracing him with different accusations Mayowa looked over at Kunle who was busy smiling and enjoying the show.
Kunle was enjoying the whole moment while watching them criticize Mayowa.
Mayowa shakes his head sadly as he stood there defenceless.

Immediately he sensed that they were about calling the security to throw him out he decided to say a word and hoping they will listen to him.

“I worked here for years, I never cared or mind how the payment came. I was diligent in my affairs and delivered as expected. I did everything required of me and never for ones gotten a complain on the way I carried out my duty. Holding a managerial position which gives me access to money never turned my head to be greedy. I account for everything in my care to the general accountant and he has never complained. I took this job like my own… the same way I will run my business was the same way I was running everything left in my care. Despite no promotion or encouragement from the board I remained steadfast. What I get in return for all my good deed was this whole Condemnation. Things I have never thought of or did all my years here is the same thing that am being accused off. God bear me witness today that I am innocent of all this crime leveled on my head. Stealing is bad and as the saying goes everyday for the thief one is for the owner of the house… your sins had finally catch up with you. This your long boring… good deed speech is irrelevant. Carry the cross of your actions and leave me out of it. We’re two different people. My whole efforts and transparent good work is finally paying off. Is good to be good and I have live to witness this day that my whole efforts is crowned which is a good lesson for every staff here. laziness, greediness, backstabbing, stealing and the list goes on doesn’t pay rather it will bring you to nothing. work hard and keep your hands clean from evil deed and one day you will be remembered for good and if no one remembers you then God will. Sorry that you were caught in the act Mayowa but don’t drag my name to your level. As you can see that we are not in the same level again. Let my name cease from your mouth… you brought this to yourself…”

Almost every body was nodding to kunle’s speech as he berate Mayowa.

Some of them that supported Kunle said if Mayowa was truly everything he mentioned then why was he caught for stealing of company’s fund?

Even the MD said the same thing.
He questioned Mayowa that if he was upright in act then why was his record not straight.
If he was truly God fearing why was his invoice slips missing.
Why was all his account record not tidy. There were a lot of questionable acts in his account.
Most of this things he can’t still give a reasonable answer to. He kept saying he does not know and even trying to implicate Kunle who’s record was clean.

“You


said Kunle probably dropped the worn out invoice booklets with many missing receipt because he was the one you saw coming out of your office that morning but in all the findings we found more implicating things even two of the junior staffs had a thing to say about you which only means that you have been doing this for long that is no longer hidden in the eyes of some staffs. Yet you speak of uprightness when you’re far from such. I will make a great show off you, the security will take you out of here and keep you in their custody until the police arrives. I will make sure you remain in police cell without bail untill you provide my money which is in millions… you want to run down the company that I stuffed to build. Mayowa, just like Kunle said… everyday is for the thief one day will be for the house owner…”
Mayowa did not bother saying anything. He felt helpless.
Few of his colleagues believed him but others did not.
They were rather supporting Kunle and waiting to organize a party to celebrate his achievement and promotion.

Mayowa was later taken away to the company’s security care.
His heart was filled with anger as he thought even God has forsaken him when he needed him the most.

What was the use of his whole service and supplication and yet God abandoned him in time of trouble.
His enemies gloat over and made him to be mocked.
How does Kunle get away with all his crimes and it was leveled on him instead.

Kunle’s even have the guts to berate him and said to everyone’s that he is a good and faithful worker and that was why his efforts was crowned.
On the other hand Mayowa was dubious and not straight forward that is why he was going down.

Mayowa shakes his head pathetically. Maybe it was all a temptation.

God who sees every secret deed will expose the real culprit and he will be vindicated.
Until then he just had to have faith and keep praying for God’s Mercy.

He called his wife to update her on the situation of things and how the police were on the way to pick him up.
He won’t be able to get out until he pays up what they think he stole.

The wife did not break down as Mayowa expected, rather she told him not to be weak in praying she was certain that God will never let those who trust him to be put to shame.

Her words energised Mayowa and even when the police came, he willingly joined them and they zoomed off.

Kiki, Mayowa’s wife went seeking for financial help from family and friends.

She was doing all she can to bail her husband from police cell.
He had been in police custody for over a month.

Almost everyone she went to for help had one story to give her on why they can’t help her.
Is either they are having financial difficulty or already budgeted for the money and can’t spare anything for her.

Even the people that were living large and traveling abroad like is their backyard couldn’t help.
After several promises they will fail at the dying minutes.

Some of them were even gossiping that when Kiki was enjoying the stollen fund that her husband was bringing home she never remembered anybody but now that the are in trouble they suddenly remember the address of their friends house to come for help.
Some even said Kiki coming to borrow huge amount from them does she thinks they grow money on trees.

Some of her friends went gossiping with her and her husband name.
While some sympathize with her in her presence but behind her back they laugh.
Saying, “, I thought she is mother Jesus, Mrs perfect with no stain, now look at how she has fallen. Her husband is even into fraud, stealing company’s fund and they were enjoying and living like they will never be caught. God finally exposed them… even all her act of perfection was only a pretence to cover up…”

Some

of this things flew into Kiki’s ears. She heard and knew almost everything said about her and her husband but it never weakened her Faith.
She regretted going to seek help were she doesn’t supposed to.
Despite all of this, she had sincere people who assisted her with the little they can.

one thing she was certain is that God will never leave nor forsake them.
It can only take time but one day her husband will be vindicated.

She did not stop praying for God’s intervention, she cried to God most nights with her worries.
Her pillow was soaked with her own tears.
Kiki remained steadfast in the Lord and never for ones give up or loose faith.

She spoke to her pastor who also Promise to continue interceding for them in prayers.

The pastor told Kiki that he doesn’t have upto the required amount which was in millions but he can atleast spare about three hundred thousand from the little he had saved up in renovating the church building.
Kiki was grateful as the pastor transferred the money to her.

Getting home, she calculated all the money with her and it was about a million.
The MD has insisted that he won’t collect anything less than 3million.
It was far much more than the money spent but he was only asking for three million.
She may probably sell some of their properties to be able to raise more money.
If she can get upto two million she will take it to them and go on her knees to plead for them to accept the money like that.
She hopes that God will touch their hearts and make them consider and release her husband.

Almost ten million was missing after another round of investigation was carried out.
What baffles them is that Mayowa does not have any other bank account aside the two bank accounts Known to the company which he had little money that he manages with his family.
One was a salary account and the other was his personal account.
When they tracked the whole money that had gone in and out of the two accounts nothing was out of the ordinary.

They also carried out investigation on the wife and she was clean.

They tried to track down any other account in mayowa’s name or the wife but nothing was found.

They questioned the accountants that Mayowa reports to directly and asked them to say only the truth of what they know and they all account that Mayowa have never defaulted.
He was one of the first to remit cash in his care which goes in line with the invoices.
They were quiet surprised when his record at the dying minutes during the time that the auditor was checking all the managers and accountants records and found only his own with fault.

The

investigation continues as they started tracking down the invoice numbers and who it belongs to and how it was in Mayowa’s custody.
The MD implored the help of other learned auditors and accountants to investigate the whole account records again

Something was looking fishy and the more they dig the more they found no past bad account in mayowa’s name.
But what they did find that was confusing is some of kunle’s past records which they were able to dig up was looking fraudulent.
It seems unbelievable because the whole invoices he recently summited were clean.

In the meantime the MD asked that Mayowa should be released and stay in his house until the whole findings is over.

Mayowa’s wife who had been able to gather upto a million and half presented it to the MD pleadingly and he asked her to keep it first until the investigation is over.
He told her that the money was over ten million missing and if after everything and it still traced down to her husband he will either have to pay the money or be locked up for good this time.

But looking at the whole findings nothing illegal was trace to Mayowa’s name.
more revealing things were coming out to the open.
Mayowa actually had a very clean record than the rest.
Only where his account was looking faulty was the old invoices in his care that was all shed of wrongs.
But checking the invoice numbers and receipts it ended up to be more of Kunle’s and not Mayowa’s like it was initially believed.

The MD still couldn’t believe what they were finding but he was more determined than before to get to the root of everything.

Kunle began to laugh the moment his friend, Bayo told him that with the way things were going he may get caught.

“I can’t be caught Man, I know my game and I play it well. Any road leading down to me is super clean…I have nothing to worry or be scared off. If they were all smart they should have been able to track me down in the beginning but instead the bunch of useless old fools saw only what I wanted them to see. I have already thrown my implicating invoice booklets that is worn out to Mayowa. Somebody has to take the blame and is definitely not me… Mayowa was a perfect match for it. Bayo, they can’t possibly track me down because I chop and wash my plate clean … they may try but nothing will happen. There is nothing to hold onto…all they will find is a clean slate… Properly clean.

Bayo, Kunle’s friend gulp down his drink and poured another, he lifted his glass and they both toast and continued to laugh.

Kunle took a sip from his glass before setting it down.
There was a plate filled with peppered gizzard and fried snail in one side of the table. Another plates of fried beef and chicken laps on another side of the same table.
Kunle used toothpick and picked two of the snail first, munched on it for a second then another gulp from his drink.
He took two pieces out of the gizzard and began to chew loudly.

Life is sweet. Is only fools that chose to suffer. Bayo, the funny thing is that I don’t even know what suffering taste like again… ever since I wised up. Is been over two years I said no to poverty, no to stipend in form of salary, no to hardship, no to all kinds of orishirishi( nonsense) my life had never remained the same. I have cars, I have money and wears designers. My company foolishly gave me another car and monetary gift again. I plan selling one of my cars instead of having them there in my garage. I used to lie to my colleague that my brothers abroad sends me things but I have no relative in abroad, I also told them that I have other personal business I also run to make money aside my salary. They all stupidly believed me. The only person I told about my secret was Mayowa, I thought he will be wise enough to run things with me due to how close we are but my guy chickened out because of his stupid faith, now, see where it has gotten him. He can’t get out of the trap he is currently in, because he does not have the money to bail himself out. A poor church rat with nothing to his name except his Church. He is doomed for life while I’m made for Life…I have already said goodbye to poverty long time ago and I will never go back there. Bayo, people will respect and worship you like a god if you have money…but nobody will give you a second look if you don’t.
Bayo nodded. He picked one fried gizzard and began chewing on it.

“…. enjoy yourself my friend. There is money to spend…”
Kunle encouraged Bayo who kept nodding while eating and drinking.

“…I feel like adding a whole grilled fish to this table. We have gizzard, fried meat, snail and chicken laps which we will face after the snail and gizzard goes down. But something is missing and that is fish…they should bring two grilled fish for us and more drinks. Money is not a problem..i have got enough. Fish should be added…or what do you think Bayo?

“Yes, you are right…I will love a cat fish with chips and some pretty babes like the last weekend. Pretty ladies that will be rubbing their soft hands on our head while we enjoy to stupor and may even take a hotel room and spend the night. You have some of their mobile numbers maybe you should call them to come to the same place like the last time… there is a lot of goodies waiting for them…

saying.
“Bayo my guy, you are too much. You really know how to enjoy life. You learnt from the best because I’m a great teacher…. hahaha! I will be needing two full chest and back loaded pretty babes that knows how to do magic with their fingers. My wife bores me a whole lot. Going home is just to relax and nothing more. I catch my fun outside here, have my full fun and enjoy myself to stupor. My wife does not even need me because I drop enough money for her to keep her away from disturbing me. I won’t be going home tonight… I’m calling the ladies over. They will keep us entertained through out this weekend.

Kunle made a phone call before ordering for more meat and fish to the table.
He also ordered for more drinks and within an hour, three of the ladies he called arrived.
And their enjoyment continued from there as he promised each of the three ladies lots of money to spend the weekend which they all agreed.

Mayowa was back home for the main time. Investigation was still ongoing and he had already spent almost two months in the police cell.

The MD had said that at the end of the investigation if they found out that he was truly the culprit, he will be sentenced and locked up for good or he pays ten million or above, it depends on how much more missing fund they discovered.

Mayowa, knew he was not yet free and did not stop praying with his wife.

Most of their house properties have been sold to raise money.
His wife, Kiki who couldn’t gather enough money had no choice than to sell the properties to be able to raise money to complete his bail.
But despite everything sold the money was just a million and half and when he came back from police there was nothing to live on they had no choice than to still touch the saved up money to feed.
Kiki who was into petty trading try to combine alot of other things to her wares to be able to make money since her husband was out of job.

She does not want them to keep taking money from the one they have already gathered to pay to Mayowa’s MD rather she will love them to be adding to the available money just in case.

She can’t afford to watch her husband go back to prison, she will strive and do anything possible to save him.

They have been praying together and also prays separately, pleading with God to reveal the hidden things and expose the real culprit.
They kept believing that since there was another round of investigation ongoing, they hope that no matter how long it takes, the real culprit will surely be exposed.
Kunle can’t get away with his actions. Because nothing is hidden under the sun.
No matter how he hides his secret and evil deeds one day it will be open to the sun and everyone will see his dirty secrets.

It can only take time but the truth will surely prevail.

After another month passed by like the wind, no word or anything was heard from the auditors or even the MD.

Mayowa did not know what exactly was going on.
As much as he wants to know his fate or what’s lies ahead he also do not want to be put on suspense.

He was home doing nothing, every day idleness and that is not who he was.
He was used to getting up in the morning and leaving for work.
He was used to coming home excitedly to his family in the evening not staying all day at home doing nothing aside to help out with some domesticated duties.

While his wife leaves to her shop after taking their two kids to School, Mayowa stays home to tidy up the house and sometimes makes food for the children.

He was not allowed outside the house, his company put him on a house arrest pending the time the whole investigation will be over.
Mayowa was already getting tired but he had no choice.
He watch the television, read his Bible, pray quietly on his own and kept believing God for some miracles.

He appreciates his wife for the whole efforts she put into caring for the home despite the crisis that have befallen them.
He sometimes wonder what he will do without her.
She wakes early and sleeps late at night.
Kiki was working so hard to care for the entire family.
She refused touching the money they set aside for the company.
She was even willing to add to it but the little sales she makes daily goes into feeding and other house expenses.
If there was no market she carries her wares and walk round the market just to make sales.
Since her family were solely depending on her she did not want to disappoint.
Kiki tries her best to make sure her husband doesn’t feel the impact of the trouble they were into.
He still encourages and pray with him whenever they are together.
She did not feel bad for taking up the role of a breadwinner because she understands that her husband has been doing it for years without complaining.

It


was a very difficult moment for them as they no longer eat like they used to.
Two square meal daily is not always certain but they remain hopeful that things will get better someday.
It was a phase that will still pass no matter how long it takes.
While all this heartbreaking period was going on for Mayowa and his family, Kunle on the other hand was having his usual flexing moment.

Kunle reminded Bayo of his words that he can never be caught.
Looking at the whole thing, it appears like no one is even thinking towards his side.
Everything will still run down to Mayowa and he will be sent back to prison and will remain there indefinite.
Kunle made another friend aside Bayo.

Emma recently became a close pal to Kunle.
They met at the usual bar that Kunle goes to chill out.

They support the same football club and had few similar likeness for different brand.
After meeting doing one of the soccer game show at the club bar, they both became close pal and began to hang out together with Bayo.
Emma was a free person and Kunle likes him and was free with him.
He trusted Emma just like he trust Bayo.

Kunle became free to talk about how he was enjoying his company’s money.

Emma will laugh, he was enjoying such tale.
He will even ginger Kunle to talk more and Kunle will freely spill lots of his secrets without care.
They will drink and enjoyment will continue.

What Kunle does not know was that Emma was investigating officer who was sent to make friends with Kunle and gather more evidence.

He hides voice recorder inside his cloth and was quietly recording everything that Kunle says.

Episode 11.

Emma took his time to records everything that Kunle was saying, he even had to ask him some questions regarding to some of his colleagues.

Kunle mentioned Mayowa and how he had to be the scape goat and take all the crime because he refused joining him as partner in crime.

Emma will laugh hysterically, he will shake Kunle’s hand for being a wise man.
He kept praising Kunle on how he played everyone and even assured him that due to how smart he was there was no way his boss, the auditors or even the police investigating the crime will be able to know. He was too smart for all of them.

Kunle was filled with pride as Emma went on praising him.
Bayo was smiling and carefully examining Emma and why he was stylishly asking Kunle some personal questions.
He does not trust Emma and he spoke to Kunle about it but Kunle waved it off and asked him to be free with Emma because he was a very good friend.

Emma continued hyping Kunle each time they meet.
Due to the way Emma was supporting him he was gingered and began to say more implicating things.

That night as Emma got home, he decided to check all of kunle’s unknowing confession that he had recorded so that by tomorrow he will able to send it to the office.
He had sent the previous ones but recent confession was far more implicating and they can use it to nail him.

The moment Emma tries to bring out the recorder, it slipped off his hand and fell into a cup of water that was close to him.
He quickly picked it up, turned it on and but it wasn’t coming on.

He cleaned it carefully, put it under a fan to dry before trying again to turn it on but it still wasn’t coming on
Emma tried all he could to retrieve the record but it appears he lost all the recorded information.

Emma felt very bad, he couldn’t sleep that night as he kept trying different means. The information he recently gathered was very vital and solid. It was twice, different days which was two different Saturdays that he was able to meet with Kunle and gather the information and now it appears he has Lost it.

He searched on Google, checked on YouTube how to get back Lost information but all the guidelines he was shown didn’t know work out.

It was towards the morning of following day that he was able to get some sleep.

The following day, Emma drove to the station to report how he lost the whole information he recently gathered and needed more time and another set of authentic recorder to see if he can still gather more information from Kunle.

While this was going on, Bayo came to the same police station unknowingly to see if he can bail out an old friend of his.

He first of all noticed Emma’s car and wondered if he was truly the one and what he came to the station to do.
While at the counter he saw Emma coming out of the main office and talking to one of the police in uniform that appears like a high ranking officer.
Bayo carefully snapped him. He hides his face and did not let Emma see him.

After Emma drove out, Bayo also left.
He called Kunle to inform him of what he saw.
He asked Kunle to be careful of what he says to Emma because he maybe a spy or an officer assigned to investigate him.

Kunle became scared after speaking to Bayo and looking at the pictures that Bayo also sent which means he was sure of what he was saying about Emma.

He met with Bayo that evening and they talked.
Bayo told him to relax so that they can think of a plan.
Kunle mentioned that they should probably kidnap Emma or somebody close to him and the ransome he will pay will be for him to confess who exactly he was and destroy any implicating info with him.

Bayo told him that adding kidnapping to his crimes list is totally off. There were other better ways to act and the first is to invite Emma to a very secluded place, pay some tugs to stand by as they will UnCloth him check if he was wearing any wire.
If he was then they can decide what exactly to do next.

Kunle loves the plan and agree to it.

He called Emma the following day and asked him if he was free that evening or the next day so they can sit out for some drinks and talk.

Emma said he was only free by weekends and is only by Saturday that he will be able to hang out for a drink or two.

Kunle tried to persuade him and that got Emma curious and suspicious of Kunle.

Emma still insisted that since the weekend is two days away he should be patient untill then.
Kunle had no choice than to accept.

He hopes Emma is not an officer sent to get vital confession out of him.
He knew he had Said a whole lot and will do anything to shed himself.

If Emma was an officer he will be in a serious trouble but he will make sure that Emma does not get away with his plan no matter how late it is.

If he had to go down, Emma will first of all get down before him.

He will make sure of that

Episode 12.

Kunle planned with Bayo as weekend approached, he paid two tugs that will handle Emma and force confession out of him.
They got prepared and ready for weekends.
Dealing with Emma was not just the plan he also wants to find out who exactly he was and to know if he was truly investigating him or not and for him to achieve all of this he had to use force.

Since Emma said is only weekend he will be free then he will be ready and waiting for him.

While Kunle was getting prepared to deal with Emma what he never knew that Emma who suspected something fishy maybe going on also got ready for whatever was coming for him.

He called the officer he was reporting to on the Friday of that week.

“…Sir, I think Mr Kunle, the suspect is upto something and I can tell he may have a hidden agenda. He invited me to a very secluded location unlike our usual meeting point, I will be needing a backup officers. They should just station around in mufti. Another important thing is that since this is a very sensitive case we have to apply wisdom in handling the suspects. Please, let the officer in mufti listen to my signal first before covering up the location. Even if I’m being mishandled they should stay far and wait until I signal them first before they come for my rescue… they should listen to my signal and if I did not signal them they shouldn’t show up to the crime scene. I will appreciate if this is passed down to the officers. Since I was assigned to this particular case I need you and every other person to trust me. I know I lost a huge criminating evidence after my recorded gadget crashed but I promise to bring Mr Kunle and every other person involved to book. They will answer for their crimes, I need time and trust sir. I promise to deliver…”

After speaking with his boss in the office Emma marked out his plan for Saturday.

He will have to wear a plaster on the back of his knee and on his arm and pretend to be injured and he will calculate the exact spot to hide his gadget.

Is either his shirt buttons or some unsuspected area in his body.

Even if anything happens or they happened to searched him none of them will suspect that he hides the recorder in his shirt buttons or within his body.

He has two places in mind and that was either in his trouser belt or the shirt buttons.

Emma planned carefully and strategically on how to go through everything and the way to act.

His guts tells him that Kunle maybe suspecting him and he wanted to be very ready for anything he can’t be taken unaware.

Weekend Came and Emma drove to the location that Kunle sent to him.

He noticed that the place was far too secluded, it was a deserted hut close to a bush.
He saw two hefty looking men at a close end.
He saw kunle and Bayo sitting with an expensive wine in front of them.

“Emma, my good friend… welcome. I was almost in doubt if you have changed your mind from coming. I was not sure of your loyalty as a friend after Bayo saw you at a station talking to the police. By, the way how is the weather treating you?

Emma sensed danger as he took the reserved seat that they set aside for him.
He needs to apply wisdom.

“,The weather haven’t been fair boss, I almost couldn’t make it down due to the excruciating pain on my knee. I had a little accident early this week, all I got on me was taken away and I sustain serious injury. Even my ATM card, my whole ID and money went with it. I had no choice than to report to the police. I have one distance relative that works there, after narrating my ordeal he asked me to come over, I went and he assured me that they will try and track the criminals but like you already know the system of government that we are in, I’m not even putting all my hope on the police, if they are able to catch the criminals..fine, if not I will suffer my pain and loss in silent… Life goes on for everyone. Well, that’s it boss, that’s why I couldn’t see you within the week. My loyalty is undoubtedly intact, is fully hundred percent. I hate snitch and untrustworthy friends and I keep my distance away from them. I’m the last person that will be found in that line…trust me boss. I gat your back… always.

Kunle was happy after hearing from Emma.
With the way Emma was acting, Bayo believed him.
Bayo later said

“Sorry man for the accident, I almost thought you were a secret service personnel, gathering information and taking to the police…”

Emma acted surprised when Bayo said that.
“Me…? Me of all people that don’t even like the police. That’s the last thing I will do…”

Kunle laughed and said

“That makes the two of us, I don’t also like the police and I’m happy that you reassured me of your loyalty. I got worried and thought that you were recording everything I was telling you about my wealth and company which you might have sold off to the police or you may even be part of their squared. Why i choose this place was because of you…I even paid some tugs, they are over there waiting for my signal so that they can deal with you, I guess that’s not necessary again but let me warn you, don’t try to snitch on me or even think of taking any information we share to those dogs in uniform…i will end you or give you an everlasting mark. I’m not very nice and I hate distrustful friends. That’s what got my colleague, Mayowa in the mess he is in right now. I knew since he refused joining me in the act of defrauding my company he may have plan of exposing me and I can’t let that happen. I acted fast and he became the scape goat…so Emma, no one crosses me and gets away with it. Hope you understand…?

“, Sure boss… very clear. I can’t betray you…let me remove my clothes down to my undies so that you will feel relax and understand that I’m not what you thought I was… I’m very royal.

Kunle told him that removing his clothes wasn’t necessary but Emma still went ahead to pull off his cloths carefully so he does not tamper with his hidden gadget.

His recorder was hidden in his shirt black button. The color of the button makes it seems invisible.

Kunle was totally convinced that Emma was on his side.

Episode 13.

There was nothing to suspect about Emma, he did his daily timetable and calculated Kunle’s every move

He played like a nobody around them, pretending like he was at their mercy each time they meet.
He will hail and praise Kunle and even Bayo who used to be suspicious of him before became his close pal.
What he refused to do was to disclose his real house address or even to take any of them there when they wanted to visit him.

Emma lied that he was squatting with an old friend and don’t want to cause issue by taking his friends to the place.

But he asked them not to worry that his friend will be traveling soon and once that that happens he will make sure he invite them over to know his place.

Kunle enjoys the praises and also enjoys having Emma around.
He was very free and went back talking about his company and how he will continue to enjoy their money.

He even confessed unknowingly to everyone’s hearing how he opened three different bank account with his company’s name and details.
He will send the fake bank details to some of the customers to pay into.

Most of this customers maybe owning huge amount.
They will purchase goods worth thousands and millions and decide to pay up gradually

They will prefer to pay straight into the account instead and Kunle enjoys convincing them to do exactly that.

He will sometimes call and tell the customers or clients that they should pay it into the right company’s account that he will forward to them.

Kunle will forward the fake account to different customers telling them that is the right company’s account details.

When the company noticed that a certain customer or clients haven’t paid, Kunle will find a means to defend the situation.
He will sometimes tell them that they shouldn’t worry over such customer, he will be in charge of calling and following up with them and he will make sure they pay up soon.

Kunle talked about a whole lot of other hideous things he did and still doing.
He said he was unapologetic about it.

He is not the kind of man that will stay mute and continue collecting a ridiculous amount as salary.
That the stipend the company pays as salary was not even enough for his two weekend cruising.

On each weekend he spent lots of money also give out to some of his women that he spends it with.
He gives them from fifty thousand upward minus the whole eating and drinking and also two nights hotel rooms he had to pay for himself and for Bayo his friend.

There was no way the company’s salary will be enough for all his extravagant spending.

Bayo will always agree with whatever Kunle says.

Bayo says that he was learning from the best and as it is now he was equally strategizing means to steal from his company without any trace to him.

There was one man that does not like him in his office.
He will find a means and rope the fraudulent activity on that man just like Kunle did with Mayowa.
There must be a scape goat to every game.
According to Bayo

Emma continue to gather information, he makes sure that none of the information is tampered with this time.
When he felt he has had enough and also recorded enough criminating information he decided to proceed with that.

He rechecked everything to make sure that they were all intact before packing it up.

The following day he drove to his boss office and submitted the whole recordings to him.

He told his boss that he will be waiting for feedback after he listens to it to know the next steps to take

Emma went home and continued keeping in touch with Kunle. He did not desert them immediately until his boss called after a week plus and informed him that the information on the record is enough.
Which means his work was done and he has to start avoiding Kunle and his squad

Emma agreed with his boss that the following week he will lead the officers that will arrest Kunle and Bayo.

Since Kunle and Bayo now has a permanent, secluded hang out joint.
One of the biggest and most expensive place in town. The lounge has turned to be their meeting place every Saturday.
Emma will lead the police officer that will arrest the suspects in the middle of their usual enjoyment.

Emma agreed and looked forward to next week Saturday.

He can’t wait to see the look on Kunle and Bayo’s face when they see him in uniform surrounded by the same police they dislike so much.

He looks forward to that.

Episode 14

Emma still takes Kunle’s call but he avoided seeing him face to face.

The plan to arrest him and Bayo was going perfectly until Kunle informed Emma that Bayo traveled with other marketers from his company and will be back after ten days which was almost two weeks.
This kind of information obstructed Emma’s plan.
He had already mounted out ways on how it was all going to go with his team but Kunle calling to inform him that Bayo was on a journey will make him have a change of plans.

Kunle asked him to come and chill out with him since Bayo was away but Emma told him he had a very important interview coming and he was reading to prepare himself for the day.
He told Kunle he won’t be able to see him until the interview is over and also he will be traveling to another state for it and will be coming back after two weeks.

Emma later had a change of plans and went to see him but not without informing his boss in the office.

“This one all of you are traveling and leaving me back here, who will I call to enjoy all this money I’m making with me?
Kunle said laughing after Emma sat opposite him.

Emma took another recorder just in case Kunle unknowingly confess something new.

“You have over three ladies that you usually call to keep you company. Why not call them like you used to do so that they can enjoy with you…if you have some other friends you can also call out…” Emma said while taking his seat.

“I have friends but they’re not as close as you and Bayo is to me. Those ones are just after my money every time. They don’t understand the big show, the forging of cheques, the creative lies, the bribes, the act of deception and many other works I did just to get this money out of my company and become rich. They usually think I have a tree in my backyard where money grow due to the way I spend. But if I don’t spend on myself, give myself the best treat, enjoy myself with different women and delicacy…if I don’t do all of this and many more for myself who else will I do it for? I’m well deserving of it more than anybody else because I did the work and was very good at it. Despite somebody had to suffer for the consequences of my actions I really don’t give a damn…I don’t care Emma…and I’m not stopping soon because I’m already used to having money and spending it any how I choose. I don’t want too much friend because some can’t keep a secret. Life supposed to be enjoyed not managed…”

Emma nooded in agreement.
Kunle continued

“…Bayo almost got caught last week in his office. I don’t know what was difficult in stealing 50k. I won’t even waste my time with such a ridiculous amount…I go for anything from 500k upward. It was in the beginning I will be targeting from 50 to 300k. I kept upgrading until I became a professional. I do big thousands and millions now. Although the risk in big figures are high but I’m very smart and cunning too. That’s why Mayowa or whoever that try to mingle in my affairs suffer the consequences. I’m very smart…I see through people and what they’re capable off. The moment I saw you on that first day of meeting I knew you were reliable and trustworthy. Even when Bayo came to tell me stuffs about you…he was not sure of the kind of man that you are. I told him to relax…I know you like the back of my palm. It was after he saw you again at the police station I decided to put up the act to shake you up a bit. I know my friends and they also knows me…I don’t keep betrayals, liars or those who thinks they’re too smart as friends. Friends that I can control, when I tell them do this… they do it immediately without question. Those are loyal friends and such friends can keep your secret to the very end and that’s the kind of person you are Emma. I know You are strugling to make it and don’t want to take the “get rich quick” method that i and Bayo are using but trust me with time you will reconsider it. You will want to follow our trend and there’s nothing bad about that… you only have to be smart at it. You understand..?

Emma nodded as he took another sip of his drink.
Kunle opened the third bottled drink and continue drinking and talking while stuffing meat into his mouth at the same time.

Emma later left and avoided seeing Kunle until Bayo came back.

Emma lied that he traveled and can’t come to chill with them as usual.

Emma arranged his men again and as Kunle and Bayo were chilling out one Saturday, Emma arrived with his team.

Kunle and Bayo looked so losed and confused.
They did not understand what exactly was going on and why Emma was in uniform with other police men.

Kunle was puzzled as he looked on wondering what sort of prank an ordinary Emma was playing.

“Let me reintroduce myself…my name is officer Emmanuel Kings, an officer of the law…a cunning detective, you will equally admit. I have been assigned to investigate you for months and as you already aware I hold all your secret. The game ends here for you and your friend Bayo. And anything you say will be used against you in the court of law…so, if I were you I will shut up and corporate.

Kunle laughed sarcastically as he still couldn’t believe it.
He told Emma that he was foolish and his words can’t hold any water. There was no concrete evidence he had on him.

Emma asked him not to worry that he will find out more when they gets to the station.

Kunle started threatening but one slap from Emma shut him up.

Him and Bayo were whisked away in the police van.

Kunle was charged with fraud and many other crimes that was leveled on him.

He pleaded not guilty and his lawyer tried his possible best to get him out of the situation but the whole recordings was a clear prove of all his self confessed atrocities, enough to send him to jail.

He couldn’t escape the situation like he has been escaping the other crimes.

Him and Bayo who was not only an accomplice, he also bought into the game of Kunle.
Emma had all their crime details in his record.

Bayo was sentence also to prison after his trials but he had a lesser years unlike Kunle that was sentenced for fifteen years with hard labour.

Emma was promoted to a high ranking officer unlike his former position.

Due to the clean and good job he did on the suspect Kunle, he was awarded and also got lots of big present.

Mayowa was later called back to the office, he was reinstated and got an office apologies from both the staffs and managing directors.

He also got a promotion with so much benefits.

He was awarded a car, far bigger than that of Kunle.
He was given five million as a compensation for defamation of character, wrongly accused and also for his years of good and diligent work in the company.
Mayowa’s life automatically changed for better.
He shed tears of Joy when his new car key was handed over to him.

His wife, Kiki was overjoyed. She was filled with gratitude.
She fell faced down crying and shedding tears of joy.
She couldn’t thank God enough.
Kiki kept shouting “God has done it. Is only God that can do it, He has done it…”

She was able to return back every dime she borrowed, expanded her business and they moved to a bigger apartment.

It was a big testimony and she couldn’t keep calm of what God did in the life of her family.

Her husband also testified of the Lord’s goodness.
He was in shock as how everything played in his favor.

“..God was indeed a miracle worker”
Mayowa said to the entire congregation during his thanks giving.
“…I could have been in prison right now if God haven’t showed up in my case and gave me victory…”

Mayowa thanked his wife wholeheartedly for always standing and supporting him through thick and thin.

Mayowa even had the opportunity to travel out with his family for the vacation that he has always wanted.
