He was even allowed to finish his prayers before he was taken into Ifeajuna’s Red Mercedes 190.

Segun Osoba who was the only reporter to see the Prime Minister’s corpse at the cocoa plantation on Abeokuta where they found him prodded against a cocoa tree to rest, reported that the body of the Prime Minister when he saw it was “fresh” and there was no bullet wound.
If the Prime Minister was violated, as Bakare claims, Osoba would have known, and would have reported it. The death of Tafawa Balewa was tragic, but it needs to be said here, that Mr. Balewa could not have cursed an entire Igbo, simply because, in spite of what Bakare ignorantly thinks, the Igbo did not carry out a coup.

The coup was carried out by a faction of the Nigerian Army which happened to have had more Igbo officers. Besides, most Nigerians have been told a huge lie about that event. The government that was overthrown was led by an Igbo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, who was President.

The Centuries Old Cultural practice of the Osu Caste System that allowed a group of People to be hated and Stigmatized from generation to generation may actually have done more Cultural damage than originally thought , it produced some People that just hate blindly for almost no reason at all and continue to pass that illogical hatred on from one generation to the next until God raises People in the Community or bring People from outside Wise enough to reject and root out all that hate


It is my personal Opinion that it was Pure bitterness that pushed Major Ifeajuna to kill Balewa at the moment he did it because by then it was already obvious that the Coup had failed and the Causualties were already too one sided but Ifeajuna still went ahead and killed Balewa

Ifeajuna had nothing to loose and more to gain by Sparing Balewa’s life unless there were other ulterior motives for failing to kill Ironsi

Also lt col Pam pleaded with Anuforo his Colleague to spare his life for the sake of his Children , Anuforo Just Shot him dead completely forgetting that they were both colleagues that had been eating, drinking and partying together at Maimailaris house less than 6 hours earlier

Ask yourself how and why Azikiwe escaped the coup that killed prominent Nigerians from other tribes except the Igbos.. the Northerners took their revenge, killed Ironsi and many Igbos living in the North and have sworn never to allow Igbos rule Nigeria.
