Russia has banned Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other senior ministers from entering Russia over the UK's "hostile" stance on the war in Ukraine.

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace and 10 other senior politicians - mostly members of the Cabinet - have also been barred.

Moscow said the decision had been made in retaliation to the UK's sanctions against it since it invaded Ukraine.

In March, Moscow imposed a similar ban against US President Joe Biden.



It added: "In essence, the British leadership is deliberately aggravating the situation around Ukraine, pumping the Kyiv regime with lethal weapons and coordinating similar efforts on the part of Nato."

Earlier this week, the UK and US governments announced further sanctions on Russia.

The sanctions included financial measures designed to damage Russia's economy and penalise President Putin, high-ranking officials, and people who have benefited from his regime.

UK and US are the real snakes here. Instead of encouraging peaceful negotiation they're quietly arming Ukraine to fight a war they have no chance of winning. Even if Ukraine eventually wins the war the casualties and property destruction won't be worth it. The UK and US will now step in with high interest loans to help rebuild Ukraine while becoming perpetually indebted to them. Either way, Ukraine is still never going to be a truly free nation.

I personally would have just preferred to be indebted to Russia without the loss of lives and heavy loans that will follow.

So Afghanistan should have just let the US roll over them?

Maybe Saddam should have welcomed the US to Iraq with dancing girls and lots of food and drink?

Leaders, whatever the country, whether dictators or non dictators, whether US for or US against...are expected to defend their countries. Comes with the duties of being a leader.

You guys will blast US for invading small countries and then praise Russia for doing the same. When both actions are plain wrong.

If you sanction me, I sanction you.. The whole of Europe is being affected by this war one way or the other.. I can't wait to see the final outcome.. Will NATO/Ukraine bow to Russia's conditions or will Russia bow to theirs..
