That's where sense fail most, not the person in question per say. Lot of people want to start big, some prefer camry or corolla. I know of a friend that like clean cars, big ones. Four years now, he has been in and out of cars, never own one for four years. People should always learn to start small and keep upgrading. Imagine if he has approach a bank for 1million and probably family/friends for 200k to balance a for reasonable car a year ago. He may have pass the stage of not having his own car today.

Sir, wisdom no go kee u. That's why it's good to seek for information/advise most of the time. I followed this thread for almost 2yrs before I finally venture into the hustle and I thank God I did.

You can't go wrong with weekend in this hustle.

10k each day. Fri to Sunday is doable. Na Bolt advert decieve that man sha. How you go sign 40k agreement and didn't get full custody of the car, makes no sense.

Boss if I say I am not feeling whatever you might be feeling now, it's a lie. I didn't work today of all day, my spirit man low as we don plan how to dice today. So I can tell what it means when you wish is not popping up as wished.

We can only hope for the best in time like this. I read through the half engine thing and fixing yours. I don't know if half engine is what they call borale? But if half engine is same thing as borale, I'll advice you go for it on the ticket of you having the financial strength for that. I have done such on two cars and they are way perfect till date, 1 has already spent 3 years and they use it to travel anyhow, we still took the car to the village in December and it just did another village wrap last week. Anything that have to do with mech fixing engine? Is in the hands of the might one.

If he gets a loan of #2.5 ,why should he give it to that slavemaster? For a Naija used car? He should use the loan to get a Tokunbo Honda civid which will server him better and more profitable for him

Ego? Sentiments?

It’s entirely his decision what he should do with the money. Buying a tokunbo as you suggested would be fantastic but is he ready to strip off his ego and make that kind of decision?

I wish him luck.

Bros trust me he can't complete this, unless maybe as he is seeking for loan to pay off.
Apart from that it's a suicide mission, he can only beg for the terms to be reviewed or simply let go something better will surely come.
That man will be looking for a way to retrieve the car especially when he is almost done paying, he should either get a loan or back out from the deal because the man won't consider him if he default.

You welcome boss, but think thro it well. Borale is just them removing few parts like compressor, alternator, kick or coil, pending on how you can drag it with them. It is almost like getting another engine and you can as well sell the old engine. That way 2 years assurance if you get a good one. I can't guarantee a repaired engine can last 2 years, and better luck they don't forget plier inside.

Borale is not Half engine.
Borale is full engine minus attachments like alternator, kick starter, coils, etc some full engine even come with AC compressor.
So because they will remove all those parts, they will reduce the price of the engine for you.

Half engine on the other hand is the lower half of the engine block carrying the crankshaft, and pistons. Basically, it's d part of the engine below the top cylinder gasket. And doesn't include the things on the side like waterpump, oil pump, timing chain/belt, pulleys etc

I just want to correct some assumptions from this unjust HP deal
1. That car is toks. 4m HP on a naija used car. Abi na naija used Venza? grin
2. Partner collects and uses car only on Fridays, not all weekend.
I am sure there is a catch for driver to allow Partner do this.

Now, on the issue of dropping car on a daily, I am sure driver and partner leave in thesame vicinity so it's not a stress, and probably partners house is more secure than drivers house. (Just thinking out loud)
Nobody will do HP and be parking car in partners house and take transport home and back again the next morning, as a demand of the partner.

@Peacefulhome
Please, Lets hear from the Driver
1. What is he getting from partner for allowing him use his car for one full day? Cos even if he wants to use Fridays as rest day, the car also should be resting. U cant drive and kill my car while I am paying u complete money. Is partner dropping something for the day he uses d car?
2. What's d real reason for parking d car in partners house on a daily basis?

The way you're talking it's very obvious that you have never run a business before in Nigeria.

Dem never show you pepper before!

The reason you're taking sides with the man is cos he's your husband's friend; try and be objective by putting yourself in the shoes of the owner of the Uber car. Do you know if he borrowed money to buy it and his creditors are on his neck to make payment?

With your kind of mindset I strongly advise that you remain in paid employment cos if you ever decide to run a business with your soft mentality in Nigeria that business will not go beyond 5 months before your employees steal you blind!

Like seriously! You dare say this after reading all of these? Chaii! I think something is not right.... You're the man I guess.

Sorry Brov but u have to clear your thoughts...
Baba if u have money buy another engine at ones. If u don't have d cash yet, then work ur engine....And start saving for a full toks engine within 6months of ehailing use. But if it's private use it can last longer if properly done.
Truth is, a reworked engine if properly done and with the right original parts is as good as having a new/toks engine. but where u will get all those factors right to rework, they will charge u almost the price of a toks engine.
But majority of our mechanics don't have the right tools, expertise and access to OEM parts to do d replacement so they end up churning out poor results. And letting u wish u had just bought another engine from the onset.

Also do u have any idea why d engine hooked? Cos it may be a cause of future damage to any repairs. Speaking from experience.

Abeg which power steering fluid/oil is good and very much affordable?
Need a recommendation.

Come are you the one doing maintenance of your rented car? The other day you ask for something else now it's ATF oil u are asking of I hope you don't ask for half engine tomorrow.

Owner should be responsible for maintenance of their car it's their property you're simply renting it reason why your paying heavily for it.

Rental companies maintain their cars unless when the renter damages the car then he's meant to fix it otherwise renter has no business fixing owners car.

But one won't blame them, some fufu will even collect it for 40k and still agrees to maintain as well so why won't owner do shakara

It's possible you passed a bad road and somehow hit the sump on something, and all your engine oil leaked away while you were driving

Don’t allow rider change trip back to base, once she tells you , she going back to base just change destination on drivers app to d closest street or house number to hers, if not you will be driving back with 200# for return trip. I can’t say too much cos riders, partners and barely car owners are watching.

If he has budget to spend 200k from what I've read up here and should be able to sell his old engine for around 40/30k. That is like 240k on assumption. How much is borale? Let start from that if fixing engine may last 6 months... it's a waste of effort spending close to 200k to wake to same issue 6 months from now. 6 months from now is peak period and having car issues is not the best in anyone interest.
