All the comments are assumptions without solid interpretations of the sanctions from Russia. Known? And impact are 2 different things. Russia does not see its self as subordinates to America, and wants to be treated with respect.

America, over the years, has assumed some very critical role in the world.
The UN was cited in America but America is begining to use it as a weapon for itself.
Same as the UNHCR and other "International Bodies" which dont belong to America but are just cited in America.

International financial Institutions like SWIFT, World Bank, IMF, etc located in America means America has a firm control over their affairs.
Internet Administration, located in America bt does not belong to America, like other International Bodies, America is abusing them for its own personal benefit

Dollars, "agrred to and assumed" as the "Currency of International Trade", is an American Currency. America Prints it and every other Country buys it!

The above are some of the reasons Countries "fear" American sanctions because it has given America some leverage over them.
Infact, if we remove Dollar as Currency of International trade, America will not last One EYar before it collapse.

Why do you think America is threatening India, for wanting to pay for Oil purchases using Russian Rubble?
Why do you think America is pressuring the E.U to sanction Hungary, a NATO member, for buying Russian Gas in Rubbles?
Why do you think Maumar Ghadafi of Libya was killed, when he tried to rally African nations to stop collecting Dollar for Oil but insisted we should be using Gold (And all its Gold, like that of iraq, was stolen by America, during the invasion of those Countries).

If not for European Countries, that have turned themselves to "House Wives" for America (out of fear of Russia!), China, Russia, India, Brazil, are ready to start using "alternative Systems" that bypasses the Dollar and SWIFT, for international trade but Europe keeps sabotaging it.

But No Empire lasts forever, History has proved that beyond any doubt.

Am not driven by emotions but how it will affect me and my continent Africa. I already mentioned in the thread that the most lucrative routes and the cheapest route to fly to Europe and Asia is through Russia Airspace, the alternative is expensive.

The rest are long term geopolitcal pland and de dollarization, de-globalization, and World War 3.
