I don't think he ought to Japa, moreover he had spent more than five decades enjoying with the king and he will be old by now.
He should be rather happy that the king had lived for so long prolonging his own life

Well he has no hiding place. He should come and die.

For what and why?
Please, let's stop the nonsense tradition if true just as Maryslesor stopped the killing of the TWINS IN PortHarcourt.Today,we can see what the twins are doing in many families.
We should also stop the issues that when a Husband died, the Wife returned to her family with nothing,as allegedly being practiced in part of the East and if true,it's shameful! Are you saying that woman is not part and parcel and blood of the whole family?
So many occultists traditional and wicked Cultures in Nigeria and Africa in general and some people love it that way because they are benefiting from it.
It's terrible and many are silent about it too!

It's a tradition as old as the country so whether it makes sense to some people or not it will never be stopped

I'm very sure they said same thing about killing of twins and slave trade.

I am Yoruba and it's a foolish tradition.

Mass killing of twins was never a thing in our culture. It's a lie perpetrated by the British to justify colonization to their citizens. There are notable people that are twins in our history. An Alaafin was a twin for example.

Slave trade also was never part of our tradition. Some corrupt powerful individuals sold slaves they bought from Hausas and the ones they captured from modern day Benin Republic. The whole Yoruba people hated it, and you can't even sell any Oyo person to slavery. Slave trade was never a tradition.

Abobaku in Yoruba means someone that dies with the king, when the king dies the Abobaku also dies with the king and is a chieftaincy title to some family. The Abobaku of Oyo empire is currently on the run.

...and you don't think Alaafin could have been a twin then because he was from a powerful background where the law does not apply.

My point remains, Abobaku is a stupid tradition. It should be abolished.
