Nozino:People like you are so confined in a state of incertitude that it's almost impossible for you to think out of the box. This is not an Express Entry thread, do you expect the OP to list all those.? Since he said he did Express entry, the smart ones already know he wrote ielts, did ECA and all that. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Nozino: 9:27pm On Apr 23, 2022 |
Afolavid:All this because you want to lick ass? The part I have issues with is saying he wasn’t sure. Like it’s not something he planned for and worked towards. Keep on licking ass. Ask people that have gone through the process. PR via EE don’t just happen. It takes years of planning. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Afolavid: 9:44pm On Apr 23, 2022 |
Nozino:Lol, but if I had dumbly reasoned with you the way you did, it won't be ass licking abi.? I understand you. It's not really your fault, Nigeria has f*cked you up. FYI, many people have went through the EE process with a lot of smoothness n comfortability that they don't understand the pain of those whose timeline took over 2 years, some started the process and got PR within 3 months, that's how easy it was for them. Next! |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Nozino: 9:52pm On Apr 23, 2022 |
Afolavid:You’re still dumb irrespective of who you agree with. In your very small mind, there are people who do ECA, write IELTS, get into the Poll, get PR within 3months? This says a lot about how delusional you’re are. If Nigeria has fvcked anybody up, it’s you. Your desperation is literally everywhere. Asslicking people whilst hoping to get into Canada. You’re broke and poor in Nigeria, getting into Canada won’t change much for you. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Nozino: 9:56pm On Apr 23, 2022 |
Afolavid:You’ve been on the EE thread since early 2021, are you still undecided about moving? Why didn’t you get your PR in 3months? Frustration dn really knack you. I understand your pains now. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Afolavid: 10:18pm On Apr 23, 2022 |
Nozino:There's no point in dragging with you, a quick visit to the previous EE thread will show you timelines of those who got PR within 3 months some years back, pre-covid. This is one of them - https://www.nairaland.com/3948393/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/334#62268915 I have a close friend whose EE journey also took exactly 3 months, no point sharing such with a pessimist like you. If you find it hard to believe a straightforward story like that of OP, which one would you believe? Lol, I make 7 figures every month in Nigeria. Not everyone is relocating because of money, some of us just want a safe country that works, without people filled with negativities like you. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Afolavid: 10:23pm On Apr 23, 2022 |
Nozino:This account was opened in July 2021, how's that since early 2021 even if we're to assume I've been on the EE thread the day i opened this account.? July is the other half of the year. You see how f*cked up your brain is. Your frustrations and negativities is still yours, learn to deal with them yourself. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Nozino: 11:07pm On Apr 23, 2022 |
Afolavid:Account opened specifically to migrate because you are frustrated. You’re so frustrated you got an illegal ND through “waivers”. Maybe you should go through NBET course requirement and see if a Bsc has exactly the same course requirement as an ND. I’m sure you’re going to make it look legal, try going to a public polytechnic and “transferring” credits from a Bachelors degree to ND let’s see how that’s possible. If not that you’re a criminal, how can ALL your credit transfer and you didn’t have to do anything else, not even a thesis but you got a Diploma. Desperation to travel will be the end of you. |

Nozino:Now, I feel so disappointed in myself, I've been trying to make a Corper who earns around 40k a month in Nigeria see things the same way I see them. Now I understand why you don't believe the OP's story. Truly, It's impossible for some set of people who earns poorly to believe other people make millions of naira monthly. Sooner or later, with the right attitude, you'll get there. Wish you all the best in life. |

Afolavid:Do it in 3months. I’m not after that guy, this guy, the other guy. Besides, it seems comprehension is a problem for you. Ask your friend if the timeline from WES/ECA to PPR was 3months. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Nozino: 11:13pm On Apr 23, 2022 |
Afolavid:If you know I’m a corp member, you should know that my current accommodation is 650. If you multiply my Alawee by 12, does it give that amount? 650k is just my rent here. I still have a place In my home state. I’m sorry if at my age, you were (you still are) broke and doing mummy thank you. Address the fake ND issue. |

This journey took 1.5 years, but I think it was worth it. But I’m not at my destination yet. This push will continue until I’m at a point where I can look back and have less to worry about. For now, I’m still looking over my shoulders even though I’m in a very good earning bracket.(To be continued) ![]() |

According to OP (as per his story), it was a cert b4 a MSc Some schools have Graduate Certificate, PG Diploma, Masters, then PhD. However, not not school allows one to transfer (course) credit from cert or Dip to Masters. mousery: Ajibade123: |

| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by mousery(op): 7:31pm On Apr 24, 2022 |
semmyk:Correct. UofT does not allow transferring credit from a cert prog to a masters. The two institutions offering these certificates are different. I applied separately for the masters independent of the cert program |

| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Nobody: 1:13pm On Apr 25, 2022 |
mousery:Thanks for your piece. It's very encouraging. I can relate with how we treat expatriates in Nigeria. Imagine being on a rate of 2000 USD daily with accommodation and feeding provided for someone whom you are better than but you are not recognized. Your ability to overcome challenges is inspiring. All the best. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Nobody: 1:23pm On Apr 25, 2022 |
tensazangetsu20:Many companies only use such to screen applicants. Your degree and your grade matters. A lot of first class graduates are employed directly without those loops. LeetCode helps you pass your technical interviews, but its usefulness doesn’t extend much beyond that. Many try to memorize the problems but it doesn’t transfer to real-world software engineering problems. This is why some tech companies are moving away from that style and moving toward job-focused questions. The truth is both the educational system and the interview system needs a revamp. The present day Computer science program doesn't prepare you for the programming role and interview process is an opposite of actual job roles. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Nobody: 1:26pm On Apr 25, 2022 |
ednut1:The OP presented an objective report which is very true. He had a first class and great experience but didn't get any offer despite several applications. He had to up his game by attending a highly rated institution and earning a professional degree with good grades. He also had no family and minimize distractions and relied majorly on the millions of naira he saved. But you always sound as if jobs are waiting for anyone in Canada. I quoted you earlier saying there's always a need to up the game if you want to be in that league. We have many others who are stuck on customer service and retail jobs. Getting the Canadian experience or higher degree is essential. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by tensazangetsu20(m): 1:39pm On Apr 25, 2022 |
Studymore123:Maybe in other places though but not in tech. And the process of interviewing is the same for everyone regardless of your background. I agree though that the interview process absolutely doesn't correlate with the job at all. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by Nobody: 1:59pm On Apr 25, 2022 |
tensazangetsu20:I'm talking about tech bro. I'm not a fan of degree and grades but you have to note that the competition is real. The FAANGM companies receives thousands of applications per opening. It costs time and money to get the right candidate. If you school in the US, your schooling to some extent has prepared you for these positions and earning a good grade also proves your intellectual ability. So through internships/apprenticeships you can easily get employment into these companies and just rise through. Many have gone through this route. On the other hand there's also emphasis on soft skills. You may not believe it but a differentiator between a 150k and 250k engineer working in the same company in many cases is the soft skills. |
| Re: My Canada Immigration Story by tensazangetsu20(m): 2:04pm On Apr 25, 2022 |
Studymore123:Definitely but internships at faang still gets leetcode. They posted one question for apprenticeship at Bloomberg on the Facebook group I was in and even the senior devs there were shocked. The question was later found on leetcode and it didn't even have a solution and was rated very hard. People were asking why they would give apprentices and interns who don't know anything such questions to solve but that's the game and everyone is expected to play. |
