Congratulations on your admission.

Are you going to UNB Saint John?

1) +234 816 249 9050 works in Alagbon and she did mine via WhatsApp. I got it same day. All you need is stamp ink for thumbprinting, scanner to scan document back to her after completion.

2) Don't move money around, submit both accounts and explain your sources of income on both accounts.

3) I think the new portal has an option to pick "yes" to a particular question if your husband will eventually come with you to Canada even if you aren't applying for him ATM.

My suggestion about his passport is this: try to see how you can fast track it and if it becomes impossible, apply for your child while you start in your SOP that he'll come later.

In all that you do, do not forget to have a strong home tie in your SOP considering you plan to go with your immediate family.

Wishing you the best in your application.

Hi Guys,

I've been following this thread for a couple of weeks and am ready to start my study permit application for Fall 2022, heading to the University of New Brunswick. I have a couple of questions.

1. Can someone share a valid contact for Police Character Certificate / or redirect to the page where it was posted? I took too many screenshots that I'm having issues with locating the detail I saved for this?

2. Also, I'm a self-funded student - I have a full-term job with the salary being paid into a particular account while I consult as a freelance for companies, and all earnings from my side jobs go into another account, should I move all the funds into the account I can provide payslips for, or provide bank statements for my two accounts to avoid any issue of a lump sum? The earnings in my side account are very regular for almost a year now, and narration carries consulting/retainership/honorarium fees on different occasions.

3. We will travel as a family (hubby & a 4-year-old), but my husband's passport is still under processing (new laws concerning passport renewal and the capture date is still far off), it is advisable I state this in my LOE as we cannot open an application for him now because of the expired passport, and we don't want to delay further since September is almost here?

I need your advice please and also a link up with anyone headed to UNB.

In his form he becomes the applicant. So fill it as though he's the one filling the form, with his own details/information

Hello everyone, please I need the help of the gurus @ frankrobnn1 and others on this forum to kindly explain something to me.
I am planning to submit my application for my study permit alongside my family( spouse( open work permit) and son( visitor visa). After filling the questionnaire, two IMM 5645 forms were generated under the doc checklist. One for me and the other for my spouse. Filling my own form is straight forward but I am confused on how to go about the one for my spouse. Should I replicate the info on my own 5645 form in his? Or choose him as the applicant and myself as the spouse with his parents and siblings info on his own form. Please help to shed more light on this as I do not want to make a mistake. Thanks in advance

This is easy to tackle..

Work on your POF, convince the Visa that the funds will be readily available..

Also work on your study plan, let the Visa officer see the benefits of your proposed course on your return to your home country...

Peace
Nyaoffiong:

The GCMS notes is out: Here is the comment - Taking the applicant's plan of study into account, documents
submitted show some funds seem available, but there are concerns the funds would be sufficient and available for the whole course.
I am not satisfied that the proposed studies would be reasonable expense
weighing the factors in this application. I am no statisfied that the applicant will depart canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay.

technix:
It depends on your tuition fees and province of study. If you are outside Quebec, show funds for 1-year tuition and annual living expense of 10,000CAD (plus about 3,000CAD if possible). If your program is more than a year, show that you can afford the tuition and living expense for subsequent years without working (e.g., by direct fund, paid leave, rental income, etc.).
You should use your personal account since your dad's account is recent and you will require at least a four-month statement for him. You can transfer funds from his account to yours.

Please can I show the living expenses in my account and the 1 year tuition fee in my sponsor’s account? Or I have to show everything in my account?

How possible is it for me to get post graduate admission with my HND 3.33/4 cgpa.

Is there any institution that is still open for September intake.

How is Canadian institutes fee payment do they accept installments payment like UK Institution I mean splitting the school fee and paying it twice

If I am going for bachelor how possible is it for me to go with my husband.

Has anyone have experience with this travel agent company called “Blueprints travel” please if you have any experience with then kindly share it with me

Hello Jacksonmma

1. You didn't state the year you got your degree or the proposed degree you going for if its PGD ,PGC or Advanced Diploma. But what I can see in your post shows that both your diploma degree and work experience are related. If you gotten your 1st degree for more than 6 years, you can work with your work experience to proof to the Visa officer of your Career progression.

2. Both parties are considered good to be your sponsors, but you stand a better chance when you use your mum. If you know your mum has more than the required funds to sponsor you all through your stay in Canada, then your mum is the ideal candidate to be your sponsor.. Just make sure you work on the availability of the funds and let your sponsor (anyone you choose) show their total commitment to your studies and living expenses all through your stay in Canada..

Peace

Hello Olaminrewa

You didn't state the department you are or your Job description, that would have guided me in giving you the precised answer to your question..

This actually depends on you, for you to decide that you wanna go for an IT related course after 8 years of getting your 1st degree, then I believe there are tangible and convincing reasons for that, which means you will really have to work on those convincing reasons and let the Visa officer see the reason why you still wanna go for an IT related course even after 8 years..

Another aspect to this is if you are working in the IT department of the firefighting company you working for, this will be easy and straightforward for you to convince the Visa Officer of your Career progression.. But if you know deep down that you do not have genuine reasons for Cyber Security after 8 years of your 1st degree and also you are not doing anything related to your proposed study in your place of work, I will advise you choose a course that is related to the work you do presently....

Most importantly, work on your Statement of Purpose...

Peace
OLAMINREWA:
Hello gurus in the house. Please I need your input on this. I had HND in computer science in 2014 but been working as a firefighter since 2016. I want to apply for a program in IT (cyber security). Is it also possible for one to use ones pension account as proof?

Yes it's possible, it should be your supporting proof of funds and must be explained in your SOP the percentage you can access from your pension.

Hello to everyone in the house. Please I need this advice. If one is in the university as an undergraduate 200 level., should he declare that he is in a post secondary school study? Or keep silent about it in his visa application? Thanks

If age is still on your side, you can apply without including the psot secondary study since you don't have the certificate/transcripts.

Thanks for the quick response sir. It’s my sponsor’s statement (uncle). He’s currently out of the country so can’t visit the bank for MBS and doesn’t use online banking. And I intend to meet up with fall resumption so I can’t wait for his return. The pdf has been compressed from 11mb to 3.9mb as the lowest (20pages) hence my question of splitting it (using the new portal) Any possible suggestion will be much appreciated thanks

Pls a b.sc holder recently finished master program in biochemistry but has a 10yrs working experience in customer service what study course is best suited to apply for. Thank you
Lekiboboe:

First of all, you need to have an admission letter to a Canadian school (Designated Learning Institute
(DLI) before you can apply for Canada Study Visa, and the program must/should show some Career/Academic Progression

That is

- B.SC holder go for a Masters or PG.cert
- HND holder go for PG.Cert
- Masters degree holder go for PHD
- You are a graduate (HND,BSC, MSC) but with Work Experience in another field, go for a Program related to that work experience e.g Tunde Studied Biochemistry (whether HND , BSC, Masters) but have 5-10 years work experience as a Human Resources Manager, Tunde is expected to go for an Human Resources Management PG.CERT program at a college (DLI) in Canada.

Your Degree (if no study gap) or your Work Experience must relate to what you wanna come study in Canada.

In your best interest, digest all the info in the link below (the first page)

https://www.nairaland.com/6957495/canadian-student-visa-thread-part

and ask questions, great minds in here would respond.

And NO, you can't go to the Canadian Embassy to ask

Regards

Good morning my people,
I am in my late thirties. I have ordinary diploma from Unilag.
I applied for a 2 years post diploma degree but I was given a 4 years degree program instead.
Considering my age,I continue with the admission process or wait for admission from another college?

My course is a unique course which is not taught in Nigeria will it fly?

My husband's account is not in good standing but we can source for funds. Can we transfer the money into his account and he send it to me without presenting his statement just a support letter
Or send the money to my brother who deals with millions but with zero account balance?
I have being refused before on grands of insufficient funds and leaving my baby behind
What can I do differently.?

I am just confused
Please advise me @Frank @Makano @Anon my understanding brother
