Not at all. That is how most recruitment agencies operate. They take 20% or 30% of your first month salary.

Note. The deduction is AFTER you are paid your first month salary. Some even insist on 20% for the first 3 months salary. It’s your call. If you seek my advise, I will say it’s not a big deal as long as you are ok with the job. That is where they make their own money from too

So he messaged me that I’m a good candidate for the job
That I should message him on WhatsApp to discuss my experience

Edit. Sorry, I just noticed that it's a recruitment company not the actual employer. It's likely legit. Just do some Google research on the name of the recruitment firm to confirm
