But from the judgment of two separate courts and the involvement of NAPTIP, the woman could actually be guilty of whatever she's accused of

FEDERAL HIGH COURT on the other hand sentenced the mother to jail because she didn't protect the girl from rapists.

Now no one knows who raped the girl. Most probably the son on the run sha.

It looks like the man was tried at the state high court while the woman was tried at the federal High Court. Why?
And it looks like judge at the federal High Court was serious, I don't know why the man was not tried in that court.

It's shameful that the child needed to be protected from her own father. We don't have enough details on how the federal court came to the conclusion that the woman should be punished as well. Maybe there were clear signs she delibrately ignored just not to go public and "embarrass her family". If that's the case and reprimanding her is what it'll take for him to face the wrath of the law, it's still better than him going scot-free.
